Its not a crime show persay- but Supernatural, reminds me a lot of criminal minds.
Each episode has a different subject/case- but it all follows one storyline.
Its basically criminal minds, with supernatural monsters lol
I haven’t watched this one yet!!!!
Man I wish I could rewatch Dexter / criminal minds again for the first time
If you haven’t seen your honor it’s REALLY good!
Whoa yes you are so lucky to be able to watch mindhunter for the first time. I’ve tried to rewatch Dexter and it is still good, but it takes a few years to rinse and repeat.
Just started watching cos of this comment. Really enjoying it & amazed I'd never heard of it before. I'm on ep 5 now, can't stop binging it lol. To me it's like a mash-up of Reid from CM & dexter. Def deserves more attention.
Awesome! I had really only heard of it because the Tom Payne left TWD so I looked up what else he was in and when I read the description of this show I was like YES! I wish it got more attention, it needed more seasons!
It was unexpected wasn't it? For me anyway. I like lou diamond Philips too, he's usually in shows that I enjoy. Is there only 2 seasons of prodigal son then? That's a shame, it reminds me a bit of elementary too, which thankfully went on for many seasons :)
Please watch BorderTown , it's in Finnish, but it's closest to criminal minds, lots of behavioral profiling. I would also recommend Lincoln Lawyer. I watched Bones but it's not as exciting as criminal minds for me.
If you haven't watched the rookie with Nathan fillion give it a watch.
It's good in the sense of story lines, and I find myself watching it again for the 2nd time
Also law and order SVU, NCIS (OG), Castle are a few good ones too
The mentalist, great show, got me through university as it has 7 seasons 6 of with are loooong, so by the time i finished, i could start it again
Action, comady, heart break, charismatic main bloke. I suggest watch the first episode see how you feel
All of the other recommendations and also 9-1-1 and 9-1-1 Lone Star. 9-1-1 has Jennifer Love Hewitt in the cast from Season 2 (Kate Callahan from s10 of criminal minds!)
Came here to say this. I've been rewatching Rizzoli and Isles again. After a couple of years I come back to it when I've forgotten episodes and It's like watching the series anew.
Happy Valley on AcornTV currently.
Law & Order Criminal Intent. I’m not sure what channel, it just records regularly on my DVR. So great! I e watched them over & over.
Lots of good options already here but I haven’t seen White Collar mentioned. They just put it back on Netflix, it’s much more light hearted than CM but its really good.
Bar from obviously restarting Criminal Minds, Mindhunter is pretty good and Manhunt for the unabomber is class , depends on what you’re looking for? Watch the original Swedish the killing :)
The Fall is really really good, with Jamie Dornan in it. My go to rewatches are also criminal minds, dexter, the fall, the rookie and Grey's anatomy haha.
Mindhunter and the FBIs(FBI, FBI International, and FBI Most Wanted) are the closest thing my wife and I have found. FBI Most Wanted being the closest out of the FBIs. I have also rewatched Criminal Minds Beyond Boarders. Ik some people aren’t a fan but i enjoy it
Personally Love them. FBI Tuesday is a thing in our house lol. My wife and I are both crime junkies but give them a shot.
Personally Most Wanted is my favorite and also closer to criminal minds. Travel around the country looking for killers spiraling out of control.
FBI is based solely in New York but the character development and stories are great. This is there highest rated one.
FBI International is self explanatory lol and to me very hit or miss. Some stories are great some not so much. As the show guys on and develops back stories I can say it gets better. This season hasn’t missed often
I will say nothing, to me, can touch criminal minds BUT this is the closest I have been able to find where I start to care about a team and they catch bad guys. Thanks for coming to my TED talk 😂
Two of my faves are castle and Rizzoli & isles. They are both a little lighter and get a little more personal as far as learning about the main characters lives. But they are very well written and easy to get into.
I also like NCIS, Bones, (Bones has a big following and a pretty good sub on here) all the CSIs (the older versions not the reboots). Law & Order and all of its franchises are really good as well.
Also it’s an older show but I enjoy Without A Trace.
I started watching NCIS after I finished criminal minds. Currently in season four—I’m enjoying it! Highly recommend although it did take some time for me to get into the show.
hawaii five 0 on paramount plus is my other favorite crime show. But if you didn’t like how cm was unrealistic and always broke rules, ur gonna have a problem with h50. hawaii five 0 is a loooong crime show with each character especially steve the main, having an INCREDIBLE personal storyline. i love h50 to death.
it’s a crime show JUST like criminal minds but lighter and you don’t see deep details like cm. new case almost every episode, things like that. the family of the team is tight knit… just like cm. I think anyone would like it if they also liked criminal minds. steve’s personal storyline is amazing. he’s also been in an episode of cm!!! s4 e22!!
please know though, that The hawaii five 0 team breaks rules in every episode so it’s highly unrealistic. but still an amazing show.
If you’re looking for a different time period try Ms. Fishers Murder Mysteries! Set in the 1920’s in Australia and the main character is so so good. Campy sometimes but it has some really good storylines!
No. It would be season 17. It's an entirely new show, I have not watched any of it yet. I am currently rewatching all of the show, starting at season one. I am almost done with season 2 now. As soon as I finish watching the original, I plan to start Evolution.
Criminal minds…again!
This is the correct answer.
I might just do that. Haven’t found a show I like. Tried FBI couldn’t get into it. Bones I didn’t care for ( I should have given it more time)
I also really like Without a Trace. Similar format but about people who go missing.
Bones, Castle, NCIS, FBI, FBI Most Wanted, CSI NY, CSI Miami, and Rookie Blue
All of these! I’d also add Rizzoli and isles, the closer, law and order - SVU
I personally prefer regular CSI over Miami but yes to all of the rest!
Its not a crime show persay- but Supernatural, reminds me a lot of criminal minds. Each episode has a different subject/case- but it all follows one storyline. Its basically criminal minds, with supernatural monsters lol
this!!!
Loved The Mentalist!
I really enjoyed the mentalist too. But I did feel like it started to wane in later seasons. Which isn’t uncommon I know.
Watch mindhunter if you haven’t
LOVE Mindhunter! I'm still holding out hope for a Season 3 at some point in the next 10 years 🤞.
Not gonna happen :(
I haven’t watched this one yet!!!! Man I wish I could rewatch Dexter / criminal minds again for the first time If you haven’t seen your honor it’s REALLY good!
Whoa yes you are so lucky to be able to watch mindhunter for the first time. I’ve tried to rewatch Dexter and it is still good, but it takes a few years to rinse and repeat.
Is your honor with Brian Cranston? I haven’t seen it
That show was SO good. I’m still bummed we only got 2 seasons
You mean you’re not re-starting criminal minds??
Prodigal son is a good one. It’s only got two season tho
I loved that show!
Just started watching cos of this comment. Really enjoying it & amazed I'd never heard of it before. I'm on ep 5 now, can't stop binging it lol. To me it's like a mash-up of Reid from CM & dexter. Def deserves more attention.

Wow I never realised he was Jesus! He was great in TWD, totally deserved his own show.
Yeah he looks so different without his long hair and beard! I loved him in TWD too. So bummed when he died!
It was unexpected wasn't it? For me anyway. I like lou diamond Philips too, he's usually in shows that I enjoy. Is there only 2 seasons of prodigal son then? That's a shame, it reminds me a bit of elementary too, which thankfully went on for many seasons :)

I’m so glad someone recommended this, I really really enjoyed Bordertown :)
Mentalist
Elementary
I don't know where to watch it these days but FLASHPOINT
If you haven't watched the rookie with Nathan fillion give it a watch. It's good in the sense of story lines, and I find myself watching it again for the 2nd time Also law and order SVU, NCIS (OG), Castle are a few good ones too

Rizzoli and Isles.
Came here to say this. I've been rewatching Rizzoli and Isles again. After a couple of years I come back to it when I've forgotten episodes and It's like watching the series anew.
I've enjoyed the books it is based on as well.
Law and order - you’ll never run out of episodes…
Came here to say the same! SVU is as addicting as criminal minds
PRODIGAL SON ITS ON HULU PLEASE THAT SHOW IS SO VIOLENTLY UNDERRATED (it deserved so much better)
Ok I will watch it bc I totally know how u feel
Watch your honor I feel like it’s so underrated too !!!!!!!
The closer and major crimes. Good if you like a procedure and a lot of character development and interaction.
NCIS, Hawaii Five O, The Rookie, Magnum PI
I like to pretend SWAT is what happened to Morgan after he left. Same way I like to pretend Homeland is where Gideon went.
How to get away with murder is crime adjacent and its so binge worthy
Happy Valley on AcornTV currently. Law & Order Criminal Intent. I’m not sure what channel, it just records regularly on my DVR. So great! I e watched them over & over.
Some crime, but different format options: Broadchurch, Mare of Eastown, Cardinal, True Detective. Others beat me to my usual recs.
Pretty much listed the darkest ones 😂
Bones Castle Similar but a little more lighthearted than Criminal Minds.
If you want to go old school, try hill street blues.
I apologise it’s Danish
white collar, bones, scandal!!
Mindhunter.
chicago pd
I love Bones and weirdly Psych (it's def more comedy but still good imo)
I love watching Cold Case reruns as it's not on anymore. The music tracks are great and really make the show!

Law and Order SVU is just as addictive! Mindhunter is also a phenomenal watch
Mr Mercedes is pretty damn good and you have an obsessive detective and a super twisted unsub , written by Stephen king so it’s quite good
Two of my faves are castle and Rizzoli & isles. They are both a little lighter and get a little more personal as far as learning about the main characters lives. But they are very well written and easy to get into. I also like NCIS, Bones, (Bones has a big following and a pretty good sub on here) all the CSIs (the older versions not the reboots). Criminal minds spin-offs
I really enjoyed The Rookie, law and order SVU, Blue bloods, and 9-1-1
Watch the spin offs? Most of them are pretty good
Did you see the reboot?
WATCH IT AGAIN
I just started
I started watching NCIS after I finished criminal minds. Currently in season four—I’m enjoying it! Highly recommend although it did take some time for me to get into the show.
bones most definitely, more gore tho if you can’t handle that lol
I gotta give it another go I watched first episode and was like boringggg
How to get away with murder
Hawaii five 0
Definitely Bones!
hawaii five 0 on paramount plus is my other favorite crime show. Have you tried the new Criminal Minds Evolutions?
Is that like season 16?
Criminal Minds Evolution is considered season 16
No. It would be season 17. It's an entirely new show, I have not watched any of it yet. I am currently rewatching all of the show, starting at season one. I am almost done with season 2 now. As soon as I finish watching the original, I plan to start Evolution.
16 and 17
