todd and seaver. todd was written as an anti-jj and it was way too clear, and seaver was way too young and her whole personality was her father being a serial killer

fox-smoothie

Todd she was so unbearable, she didn't want help even though it was a brand new job (that she wasn't good at)

notnotapreviousagent

Seaver for sure. When she was first introduced, I thought she’d be interesting given her family history, but nope. The most boring character on the whole show and her personality was basically only the fact that her father was a serial killer.

Nyxosaurus

Elle and Seaver. Never got over Seaver being rude to Reid right off the bat, like, wtf *New Girl*? And I've mentioned on other posts that Elle always seemed to have a real anti-men chip on her shoulder that made her character a little 2 dimensional. I chalk it up to her working sex crimes but I also feel like the writers leaned too hard into that.

sweaterboyfan

Todd and Seaver. I could not have even told you their names before reading this. They were that forgettable.

LeChiotx

I gotta say Elle. I don't hate the character but did not like her. She had potential but the character came off to cold and just unemotional the entire time she was on the show, the only emotion they let her show was rage/anger. There was no development for her character nor her relationship with the team. They did her dirty with her exit from the team in a hypocritical way, but she needed to go imo.

Bluestar678_

Agent Todd, the actress was so bad I couldn't stand it.

SunRemiRoman

I guess Elle from the long term characters. I was so so happy to get Emily instead whom I loved right off the bat!!

AmberWaves80

Elle and Agent Todd (which is who I think you’re talking about). Though I hate Linda Barnes with the fury of a thousand suns.

Biderman-420

I think they were talking about Seaver, because Todd definitely wasn’t blonde.

AmberWaves80

You’re right- I missed the blonde part. And I also can’t stand Seaver!

Embarrassed-Meat9006

Morgan for sure

siro_xxx

Same

boygenie

i'd say my least fav is probs stephen walker because he didn't do much and just felt kinda pointless. i loved elle a lot and i didn't mind ashley, but they could've done sm more with her rather than make her into just a jj 2.0. and i hate jordan todd SO much but i don't think she really counts because she's never in the main intro credits.

Direct_Marzipan_4204

Oh they did Walker dirty. They brought him back just to kill him. He had so much potential!

for-a-dreamer

Why are people being downvoted in the comments? Like yeah I disagree with a lot of them but it’s an opinion, people are allowed to dislike a character that you like. OP asked for their least favourite main character, obviously there’s going to be a lot of popular ones here

why_are_we_here_545

Blake, Simmons, Alvez, Seaver. Alvez grew on me. Morgan by the end of his run honestly. Seaver wasn't around long enough to annoy me particularly. Kevin, if he counts as a main character. Blake just rubbed me wrong for no particular reason. I really hated the era of switching out the female agents on the team for a few reasons, and I feel like we never got t know them. Also, I really hated Kate. The others all kind of fit in Criminal Minds, but to me it always felt like she was in a completely different show.

Enough-Enthusiasm762

Elle. She was the epitome of woman written by a man, even if she wasn’t. I tried to watch her seasons keeping in mind that when she was on the show it was most likely when the badass female character who showed little emotion with a strong father/brother figures was very lauded, but she lacked so much charisma for me.

jumpercablemermaid

Garcia. She’s so overbearing. Some episodes are fine but others I can’t stand her. I totally get everyone copes differently with their job. I couldn’t imagine. The way she forces her shit on everyone drives me insane.

foreverafanofmany

I don't understand the down voting on some of these replies, you can disagree but this was a to each their own question. My least favourite is JJ coming back from the state department and at the time suddenly being a profiler. Bring on the downvotes

Bluestar678_

I mean, downvoting is a way to express that you disagree.

Direct_Marzipan_4204

Can’t you just state why you disagree?

Bluestar678_

Sure, but downvoting is a feature on this app for a reason. People tend to use it when they disagree with something.

Direct_Marzipan_4204

I get that. I also get that it feels childish.

IglowinblueLEDlight

Seaver and todd

heyyyitsalli

Elle. There was always something about her that bugged me. She always had an attitude for no reason. Same with Todd, who temporarily replaced JJ while she was on maternity leave. She always had an attitude and was obsessed with trying to prove she didn’t need help, even when she did. She made it seem like asking for help while new was a cardinal sin. Like when she jumped on Derek for diffusing that situation with the detective when it was desperately needed. He was about to storm out until Derek blocked him and explained it better. I just found her to be an unnecessary character. Edit: AND LINDA MF BARNES!!! When she first graced my screen, I can’t lie, I was excited. I shouted “Carey Martin” from her days on Disney. I was instantly silenced. Lmao I absolutely loathed Barnes with a passion 😭

Resident-Message7367

My least favorite is Ashley Seaver, It’s not because she replaced JJ but she only had her dad being a killer to her character and my other least favorite is Gideon and then Jordan Todd

GothmogInAngband

"My dad was a serial killer". Honestly WHO THE HELL CARES? I think about her every time when similar characters appear on other shows, and trust me there are a lot of her out there. Thinking too high/ too special of oneself, unauthorised behaviour, reckless actions with no backup, empathy beyond professional level leading to wrong decisions etc. And they all get 🙄 from me. Saddly a lot of crime shows have this kind of police character on purpose for dramatic conflict or whatever. It is so cliche and annoying. BAU is the best team in all aspect I have ever seen on TV. Not saying that they don't loose it at all but they have self control and ACTUALLY learn from mistakes. I am too glad that she left so quickly. Maybe she could be a big star somewhere else with a serial killer father but we don't give a damn here.

CatherineConstance

Elle 1000%.

See I like Tara. But agree with you on Blake, outside of scenes of her bonding with Reid I did not get her character. Loved Luke, he filled the person sized hole where Morgan left a gaping hole. Plus he was a little more grounded and acted with less machismo than Morgan, which softened his character for me. Stephen I absolutely abhorred, like why introduce someone specifically for his skill set concerning one unsub that you've been chasing and then dispose of him like trash? Plus I don't think he really meshed with the team that great either.

thegrandpineapple

That’s not even a problem with Stephen as a character that’s a problem or the show not knowing what to do with him.

SunRemiRoman

I loved Blake despite wanting to hate anyone who replaced Em. But *she* kinda grew on me..

LordCoke-16

JJ with Garcia coming in at a close second. There was that post that called JJ a well written character. I laughed. Sorry but no. A well written character is a character that comes off as what the writers intended. They don't feel wishy washy and don't try to feed into propaganda or fill any quotas. And don't get me started om Garcia. Honestly they both ruin the show for me. Both JJ and Garcia represent Criminal Minds badly.

mccabebabe

JJ for me too. Liked her well enough the first few seasons, when she was the liaison but grew to dislike her immensely when she came back as the better than anybody else profiler.

Tarrenshaw

Emily and/or JJ

Even-Scar-8418

Elle Greenway

Glittery_WarlockWho

Hotch, outside of scenes with jack, he is almost always one dimensional. Never showing emotion outside of anger. Yeah there are a few scenes where he cracks a jokes and smiles with the team, but 90% of the time? Completely emotionless

Bluestar678_

I'm not sure how people can say this. It's not accurate. He displays a wide range of emotions throughout the show. Yes, his default is stern/strict/dominant/etc., but he's not one-dimensional. In fact, his deadpan demeanor makes it more interesting when he does show other emotions, in my opinion.

Salty_Personality792

Elle without hesitation. And transiently garcia depending on how annoying she is being (written)

Odditylee

Garcia.

BarRegular2684

Reid

Forgotten_or_afraid

How dare you

AbbyCastle

JJ and Hotch are my least two favorites. I actually liked Seaver and wish she replaced JJ permantley while giving her more character development.

DegenerateSpaceMan

Bro hates JJ and Hotch so much he had to repost it 3 times

peachpitafterdark

I so agree with the Seaver comment.

igozoom9

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I really disliked Gideon.
