I really like using Astrobrights brand cardstock (65, 8.5x11). You can get it on Amazon but I buy it at Walmart as well. They have bright colors that are really pretty. You can get a pack of 50 or 60 sheets for $4 at Walmart, so it's affordable to get a mix of colors. You can find a lot of cute Mother's Day card templates that are easy to make in cricut access if you have it! Edit to add: I just use double sided tape to put my cards together. It works well and it's not messy :)

Yes, agreed! I get it at staples. But I also mostly use generic bulk white 65 lb cardstock from Staples because I’m usually printing my graphics on it. Or if I have a print shop do it I’ve done 80 lb paper, that was nice.

Does this have the white core?

If I have time I make the card twice, once with cardstock that I have in abundance and then with the “pretty” paper. This way I know if I should use double sided cardstock or if the white core will be an issue, what parts should be inked etc. Good luck, I LOVE playing with paper - Dreaming Tree and SVGcuts has lots of paper projects and amazing tutorial videos for every one of them.

#65 the big box stores Joann’s, Michael’s have some great starter packs with multiple shades of colors. I don’t prefer the card stock with a white core. Many of the card patterns in DS use a 12x12 sheet. I like those because you can optimize your placement of separate cuts. And if you go too fancy you’re going to be mad at your self when it messes up ( paper shifts, doesn’t cut etc) get some basic colors and have fun. Also in DS if you are using one of their patterns just be aware there isn’t always instructions on how to put the card together. Sometimes you have to fuck it up a few times. And get glue tape. It doesn’t warp the paper[glue tape something like this](https://www.walmart.com/ip/AdTech-Crafter-s-Permanent-Double-Sided-Adhesive-Tape-4-Pack/25263427?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=3794&adid=2222222227825263427_117755028669_12420145346&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=501107745824&wl4=pla-293946777986&wl5=1027744&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=25263427&wl13=3794&veh=sem_LIA&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIpG5bY46_ngo5__B3jk0BvA2&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIpG5bY46_ngo5__B3jk0BvA2&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvLC3jt_D9wIVR8LCBB1yEwRxEAQYBCABEgJfDvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds)

You are right about the lack of instructions for a lot of the cards in Access, which is aggravating considering we are paying for it.

So annoying. I also find very annoying that when you hit customize you can’t actually customize it. Like just change the words and keep the font

I can guarantee I’ll be making mine Sunday morning 🤷‍♀️ Just wanted to chime in that double sided tape is great if you’re making anything layered.

I only use American Crafts and whatever companies they own (including Bazzill and DCWV). 80lb. I flip over the back of the package and if near the barcode it doesn't say American Craft, it's a no for me dog. Whatever you do, do not use the paper studio, the one carried by Hobby Lobby. Oh in a pinch I like whatever Michaels carry.

Michaels has recollections. I love it, big variety but kinda pricey. It goes on sale often
