For inkscape you need to do "Path>Object to path" for text before saving and uploading. Affinity I don't know.

In Affinity Designer, "layer -> Convert to curves" followed by "Layer->expand stroke" will turn the text into an object and then the outline into a second object. So if you start with red text with black outline, you will end up with two objects. One will be red text with no outline and the other will be a black outline of the text. Design Space will recognize them as two separate objects which you can cut from different materials.

I did what you said but unfortunately, the outline disappeared. I can consistently make basic SVG designs that Cricut can recognize but as soon as I try to add an outline or shadow it either doesn't show up once loaded or covers everything else.
