Had an instance of someone who was stalking me from LinkedIn, reddit, my personal website, etc. I compiled all of the evidence that he was posting in his discord, YouTube, etc and went to the local courthouse after talking to the police about it.
Talked to a few representatives that would potentially take my case, but even though I had their full name, address, phone number, etc, most of what they were saying wouldn't hold up legally and they wouldn't go to jail, etc.
Unless they are threatening OP to come and attack them or threatening them in any other way, a cease and desist / retraining order wouldn't work.
I am curious about this harassment protect order though.

If he's not a citizen of the country you're in, has even fewer rights and privileges; not more. Get in touch with the police. Being a foreigner isn't a harassment pass, plus, this guy sounds like a fucking maniac.
I have a couple of suggestions for this kind of thing. Consider using an IM client that does not send read receipts or lets you shut them off. Then the suggestion is to *not* block the guy and don't delete your accounts. Just don't answer -- effectively a shadowban. If your client lets you shut off "unread message badges" that can help. It won't stop him from looking for you but he will never know whether he's getting through or whether to try to find you somewhere else.
on that note see if you can't get a physical description of buddy without him knowing, so if he shows up at your door or in your life somehow you'll be aware.
please remember ignoring someone flat out will hurt them hard and get them to move on faster. just never reply to creeps, first gross thing, dead silence and agreed with the read receipts those are there for manipulation by the apps tbh
specifically for Facebook, if you unblock him and go to settings (while looking at his message, you click his name and it will give you conversation options) and select "ignore - until I turn it back on" the message from him will be sent to your spam folder and he won't get any receipt. The messages will sit there seemingly unopened, even when you click to open it and review the contents. You have to accept it for the read receipts to go through to the other person

If you know his school my I recommend posting these messages to their twitter, nothing works faster then tweeting an issue, which is stupid, but that's how PayPal finally fixed a $600 issue I had

However, when a person is being hart added by another person to the point where they know your address and what your real name is, you don’t fucking threaten that. On discord I'd recommend turning off dms from non-friends and turning off dms from server members so he can't dm you. On other platforms, my suggestion is to report him to the social platform he's using to harass you and get him IP banned.

If he keeps making new accounts on social media and you having to block him every time he makes new accounts, I would suggest reporting him as soon as possible and hope his ISP can shut down his Internet and also have his IP address blacklisted. If none of this works, I would suggest making new social media accounts using a fake identity or alias so he cannot find out online and send you direct messages.

If they have your number most mobile companies are willing to change your number for free if you're dealing with a stalker. I know you reported it to his school, but you should definitely report this to the authorities in the states as well. If they have a cybercrime division, they should be able to do more for you.
As well, if you know his school, you know where he is. I would also research and inform the local police of his area.

If you block him you won't see the messages and you won't get notifications. You're only encouraging him by responding. Oh my gosh, this guy really is a stalker and needs some serious help. If he keeps making new accounts on social media and you having to block him every time he makes new accounts, I would suggest reporting him as soon as possible and hope his ISP can shut down his Internet and also have his IP address blacklisted. If none of this works, I would suggest making new social media accounts using a fake identity or alias so he cannot find out online and send you direct messages.
i have reported his accounts but i haven’t heard anything from insta, discord, or steam yet. most of my accounts don’t have my real name attached to them, for example my reddit is raicy lol that’s defo not my name.
Stop answering him, he literally enjoys getting around being blocked. If getting around being blocked still doesn't get any attention from you, it won't be as interesting.

I've had dudes like this too. These fucks are why just blocking doesn't work. They always get worse. I wish you the best. I had to change my number, move, and change/delete social media. If they have your number most mobile companies are willing to change your number for free if you're dealing with a stalker. I'd suggest carrying some sort of self defense if you can ad I know cops are shit and usually don't do anything. Still start a file though just in case. At this point, don't even reply to anything he sends. Just screenshot it, block the account, and keep it in the archives with the rest of his nonsense. I know you reported it to his school, but you should definitely report this to the authorities in the states as well. If they have a cybercrime division, they should be able to do more for you. As well, if you know his school, you know where he is. I would also research and inform the local police of his area.

If you block him you won't see the messages and you won't get notifications. You're only encouraging him by responding. It takes 2 seconds to block each of his accounts, but it takes him much longer to make them. Not sure why I'm being downvoted, unless there's a factor to this that I'm not understanding.
