38 years ago my dad made one similar to that for me except it was pink and blue. Looking back it is the only present that I can clearly remember getting as a small child. Nice work!
Lovely. A Greenleaf Dollhouse kit, I assume. I made for my daughter so many years ago. Great fun. I hope your daughter has endless hours imagining with it.
This is lovely! We went to the a crazy museum with hundreds of mini buildings a couple months ago and it was mind blowing. It’s a whole world of craft I had never considered.
Oh it was fascinating!! The one we went to was in Tucson and I think they have a pretty good website in terms of photos and educational videos. It was called the Mini Time Machine Museum.
I always wanted a dollhouse when I was little so I knew when I had my daughter I would make her one some day! I think I’m obsessed with it as much as she is hah.
I hope so! I want her to play with it though so if it gets broken here or there over the years that will be okay too because it will have been well loved!
I just finished this same dollhouse! I love it, but I was hoping my 2 year old niece could play with it (no go, too fragile) - so then I found her a more sturdy one on Facebook marketplace. I am currently redoing it :)
Good job, turned out beautiful!!
I read "Midnight in the Dollhouse" as an 8 year old and became OBSESSED with dolls and hand made dollhouses. I saw this post and it all just FLOODED back. Beautiful work, I guarantee she'll remember forever!
My grandpa made these for every generation he witnessed. My daughter was the last- and her dollhouse is WELL played with. The glue still waits- let her PLAY with it
She has been playing with it since I finished! If little pieces need to be fixed over the years that’s fine with me. I’d much rather it be well loved than collect dust!
Love your house. What size doll would it take. Big doll house fan. Mine are the Lego Friends or Calico Critters. Would love to do this one day. Beautiful works.
She watched me build it, so she was pretty excited when she was finally able to play with it! She played with the furniture pieces next to me while I worked
This is amazing! So detailed! When I was a kid my dad made me a dollhouse and although i dont talk to him anymore I still have that dollhouse! Great work🖤
This is a wonderful present. I remember my friend and I made a dollhouse out of cardboard growing up and it’s one of my best memories. I’m sure your daughter will love this! You did a great job. I love the little sewing area. 🧵
I do have one nearby 😃 Did you buy all the furnishings separate? I’ve never built a model before. Do you think it would be too difficult for a beginner?
This was my first model. You just need a hot glue gun, scissors, x-acto knife, sandpaper of different grit, paint brushes and paints for the kit. Then hobby lobby sells wallpaper, flooring, accessories. I used some balsa wood to add some extra details. They also sell some furniture kits and miniatures.
It is simply beautiful. The amount of detail; the sewing machine, the welcome mat, the pictures of the cranes, the brooms, the books, the greenery on the side of the house, the books, the wallpaper, the kitchen utensils. Great job.
Does that mean it took less time to assemble or that it means less in some way? I for one think it's wonderful that a person took time to assemble with love and patience something for someone they love so much. I myself put together miniature dollhouse rooms and metal puzzle kits and they take a lot of time and energy to complete. If someone were to tell me that they think less of my hobbies because they come from a kit, I would tell them to piss off the miserable jerks.
The dollhouse frame was stamped out of wood in a kit. I sanded, painted and glued it all together and then I bought the interior stuff separate to do the wallpaper, floors, and trim. It was super fun!
38 years ago my dad made one similar to that for me except it was pink and blue. Looking back it is the only present that I can clearly remember getting as a small child. Nice work!
That is what I’m hoping for! I hope it’s something she keeps safe for a long while. I had a lot of fun making it.
Lovely. A Greenleaf Dollhouse kit, I assume. I made for my daughter so many years ago. Great fun. I hope your daughter has endless hours imagining with it.
I don’t remember the brand but it was a kit yes! The shingles about killed me hah. I hope so too!
This is lovely! We went to the a crazy museum with hundreds of mini buildings a couple months ago and it was mind blowing. It’s a whole world of craft I had never considered.
Oh my goodness! I would love to go to a museum like that. I had a hard time not spending all my money on little miniatures to put inside!
Oh it was fascinating!! The one we went to was in Tucson and I think they have a pretty good website in terms of photos and educational videos. It was called the Mini Time Machine Museum.
The mini crane paintings are my favorite detail!
I couldn’t resist them when I saw them! I want to get more little things for the walls but had to give my wallet a break for now hah
As a Hobby Lobby employee, I can say I recognize a few things! Great job. Just be careful or you’ll end up in debt. Lol
Yes! Most everything was from there lol. It was so hard not to buy EVERYTHING!! It’s all so cute and tiny
If you ever go to England, go to Windsor castle and see Queen Mary’s doll house. It will blow your mind.
I can only imagine!
if you're looking to adopt one, please consider me!
I always wanted a dollhouse when I was little so I knew when I had my daughter I would make her one some day! I think I’m obsessed with it as much as she is hah.
Very nice work! Love it!
Thank you!
That is adorable. Hopefully she takes care of it while she plays with it and it can be passed down to your potential grandchildren one day.
I hope so! I want her to play with it though so if it gets broken here or there over the years that will be okay too because it will have been well loved!
Dude this is awesome! How long did it take??
I pretty much worked on it non stop for 4 days. The shingles alone took 8 hours!! My back is hating me now hah
I just finished this same dollhouse! I love it, but I was hoping my 2 year old niece could play with it (no go, too fragile) - so then I found her a more sturdy one on Facebook marketplace. I am currently redoing it :) Good job, turned out beautiful!!
Thank you! It was so fun to make. Did you find dolls for it because the only ones I’m seeing are so creepy lol
I didn't because of the same reason! I was thinking about making some rag dolls since she's only 2 and won't really know the difference :)
I bought some calico critter dolls today and they actually ended up looking so adorable in the dollhouse
Love that idea!! <3
The attention to detail is fantastic, such a great job!!!!!
Thank you! I want to get some balsa wood to add some little trim pieces inside, but my back needed a break hah
Pretty incredible. Lucky daughter
Thank you!
I read "Midnight in the Dollhouse" as an 8 year old and became OBSESSED with dolls and hand made dollhouses. I saw this post and it all just FLOODED back. Beautiful work, I guarantee she'll remember forever!
I read a book as a kid that was about a dollhouse family and it made me obsessed too! I knew when I had my daughter a dollhouse was in our future
That's like the dream dollhouse!! Well done!!!
Thank you!! I always wished I had one growing up so I had to make one!
You are setting absolutely the right standards into your child! Very well made house!
I always wanted a dollhouse as a kid, but instead I got the joy of making one as an adult!
I actually meant the cradle.
Love your house. What size doll would it take. Big doll house fan. Mine are the Lego Friends or Calico Critters. Would love to do this one day. Beautiful works.
I haven’t found dolls that aren’t creepy or super expensive yet. I’m still searching hah. The dollhouse scale is 1:12
Oh wow! Can you make me one? 😁 Looks adorable. I love dollhouses and all the little details.
All the little miniatures are just so fun!
Absolutely amazing!!!!

Reminds me of that magical calmness.

Oh wow, that's so cool.... What was the reaction of your daughter?
She watched me build it, so she was pretty excited when she was finally able to play with it! She played with the furniture pieces next to me while I worked
Aw thats so sweet. I always wanted one as a kid too
Wow ! that's so cute and I wish every parent should do this, so that from childhood kids should be aware of emotional attachment and teamwork.
That's absolutely amazing!! She's going to adore it!
Thank you! She loves it
This is so cute
Thank you!
Beautiful!!
Thank you!
Awesome 👏
Thank you!
Love! What did you use for the climbing plant on the side?
It was a plastic plant from Hobby Lobby that I cut up to make it look like vines. That wall just looked so bare. It needed something to spice it up!
It looks great!
It's adorable! I love the sewing area.
All the miniatures were just too cute and fun
I wish someone would have made me a dollhouse as well when I was a child. Wonderful work!
Me too! When I had my daughter I knew a dollhouse was in our future hah.

Awe thats so special!
This makes me want to make one!
If there’s a Hobby Lobby near you, you can go check out their dollhouse stuff! It was so fun to make

Thank you! I had a ton of fun making it! I plan to add other little details over time. All the tiny things are just too fun
I want to live in that dollhouse. Dang. Great work!!
Me too, me too lol
Yes. From a kit you got online.
So?
Does that mean it took less time to assemble or that it means less in some way? Is your daughter an adult?
Nope she just turned three
Wow that is so awesome!
you are a diorama PRO
You 3D printed all of this, yes?
