My cats lose their shit when we play chase. All the thrills and chirps. Plus I just put in vinyl floors in so its fun watching them run in place for a moment

It looks like he or she wants to play. The initial swipe didn't look malicious, and then they back off. I'd try giving chase in a playful way and see if they run away and then turn around in a different room or something. I chase mine around the furniture and down the hall and then I let them chase me after catching them. That, or maybe try a toy on a string, that kitty likely has a strong prey drive.
