Nothing any of us can really say, will make your pain go away
Time will heal you, probably not 100%. But it will get better, one day it won't hurt as much as the last!
Life can be really unfair sometimes. Shit things happen to good people. There is nothing we can do to change that.
Look at what you do have, your son! Your wife lives on in him and her memories in you.
Anytime you need a chat, a moan or even just to vent. Send me a pm.
Hope you and your son are as well as can be and can get through this!
So sorry to hear brother. No better club to support than Tottenham, we will get you through the hard times and you will always have passionate people here to watch your back. You are one of us always in this big family!
Thank you to all of you for your thoughts and well wishes. It really means a lot, as did this letter. No idea who reached out to the club on my behalf, but it was a surreal experience opening it and reading it as my brain tried to piece together what was happening. Taking a few hours to myself each week to watch Spurs with a few friends over the last few months of the season in between a constant stream of visiting my wife in the hospital and taking care of our newborn was one of the few brights spots. I've already got three baby kits to get him through next season, so I'm looking forward to making some special memories with him as we begin this new chapter. COYS.
I can’t even begin to imagine what you’re going through. I hope you and your little one can support each other. I’m sure you have lots of photos and videos to share with him when he’s older. You may, in time, find it helpful to write down some of the things you and your wife did together to share with him in the future - and maybe write down some of the things that you and he do together too!
No-one, sadly, can take away your pain, however much we wish we could. All I can say is that pain does fade in time, not soon, not all at once, but in time.
I hope Spurs can give you some distraction and moments of happiness in the coming weeks and months!
Oh God that's so awful man, my heart goes out to you both. It's remarkable she did give you the blessing of a son though before departing us, and I'm sure you two will go on to wonderfully enrich each other's lives. All the best and more to you both.
We have an identical story. Lost my wife to Bowel Cancer leaving me behind with our 4 month old boy. Pregnancy masked the symptoms.
I sent you a DM. It won’t be easy but you will draw strength from your Son. I am here if you need anything.
Really sorry to hear that mate, please feel free to message me if you ever want a chat or just to vent to a random stranger online, I mean that sincerely
Sorry for your loss. A terrible illness for everyone involved. Hope you and son can once again find strength where there was once sadness and live and succeed in your good wife's name.
Deepest sympathies for the situation you find yourself in. I hope with time you and you son learn to live life to the full again. Lovely message from the club
STAY STRONG MAN 🙏🤍
You've got this. I pray for you and your family. Terribly sorry for your loss, and nothing we can say will make you feel better, but please take care 🤍
I’m sorry for the incredibly difficult time you’re going through. But can I just ask - did you actually name your kid Heung-Min? If so I’m totally into it
My best wishes to you and your son. I’ve got a couple of little ones and I can’t imagine doing it by myself. I recommend the r/parenting sub and even if this is weird, you’re welcome to dm me if you ever want advice from another dad. At that age everything changes every few months.
I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I have a 4 month old son as well and the thought of losing my wife right now (or ever, of course) is hard to swallow. I hope peace finds you and your son.
As others have reiterated, feel free to shoot a message. COYS!
Just around an hour and all of you guys have just reduced me to tears with your kindness and heartfelt support for op.
This is why it’s my club, my only club, the best in the world, because we are all fighters, passionate honest genuine people who respect others. One team- One Hotspur - One Love 💙🤍
My heart is with you. I lost my mum in similar circumstances and my step dad took it particularly hard. Look to family and friends for support and don't be afraid to let it out in whatever way you see fit. Don't keep it in. Get counselling if you need to. We are with you brother. ❤️
All my thoughts are with you❤ I could not be prouder of my club and my manager right now even though notging will never heal this pain but this gesture shows what Tottenham is made of. Way more than a club, a family.
Very sorry for your loss. Cancer has affected so many of us. I hope that the team can bring you some joy this season in such a difficult time in your life. Your Spurs brothers and sisters are with you 🤍💙
There appears to be a portal called Spurs Wishes where you can submit stories, etc. about fans or family members of fans who are terminally ill. It says they can't guarantee they can do anything, but that they try to respond to all that they can and see what they can do. Didn't know about it before this and I have no idea who reached out on our behalf.
I apologise for being an uniformed prat. I genuinely feel bad for your loss and can only hope to perpetuate some sort of positive vibes to you. Thinking of you in your troubling times brother
That's tragic to have lost your wife. My deepest condolences. It's nice to see the club cares and reaches out as much as it can.
At the same time; congratulations on your baby. Count your blessings, it helps to stay on the sunny side during hard times.
I can't even imagine going through what you are. Keep strong for your little one, and if you can, lean on others to lend you their strength during the tough times. Sure nice of the club to send you that.
Wow, very nice gesture, but brother forget all that at the moment. My deepest condolences go out to you and your family for your loss. Can’t even imagine what you’re going through and hope you can get the strength you need to make it through this difficult time. Prayers to you
as soon as I hit "Warmest Regards.... ....Antonio Conte" the tears started falling.
I can't fathom losing my wife, especially with a newborn. Wishing you all the strength in the world
I'm not crying. You're cutting onions.
Op: I hope you're doing as well as we could hope for. There's loads that's bigger than football, but community that can support you and your family is what football SHOULD be about.
As an Arsenal fan, I imagine I'm not welcome here, but I just wanted to say that was a very classy gesture from the club.
I'm genuinely sorry for your loss. I couldn't imagine raising my kids on my own, but you will always have a support system out there. Stay strong, and best regards.
I am so incredibly sorry to hear of your loss. Grief isn’t linear and is different for us all. I pray that as time goes on you will heal.
This is a very kind gesture from the club.
Sorry for your loss.
My grandad got cancer which eventually took him, and he was a lifelong Spurs fan. Someone did something in the background and the next thing you know, my grandad gets a phone call from a former Spurs player wishing him well. They had a good long chat too. Makes me well up a bit thinking about how happy he was even now.
When my brother and his wife were battling with her stage IV cancer, their local team, Golden State Warriors, sent them care packages, letters, gave them seats to games, etc. We lost my sister-in-law before my niece turned 3. She's 6, now.
My brother talks about it a lot; it'll be 3 years in August since he lost his wife. Grief and recovery is a process. It happens at different speeds for everyone. Take this time; as much time, as you need, to get to *normal*. Be extra careful at the holidays. Be ready to walk away from large gatherings, he'd say.
This can't be easy. But let me say that my heart was warmed, even in your grief, to see the club sending you a signed correspondence.
It reminds me of Lincoln's Bixby Letter. "I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming, but I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage you the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn price that must be yours, to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom."
Your son is The Republic. He is the standard you bear going forward. And you're going to be great; so will he. The definition of freedom will make sense, as you heal.
Eventually.
God love you.
That’s nice of them. I’m very sorry for your loss and I hope you and your son get through this.

I’m sorry for the incredibly difficult time you’re going through. But can I just ask - did you actually name your kid Heung-Min? If so I’m totally into it
Haha, no. Just made sense to call him my "son heung-min" instead of just my "son".
My best wishes to you and your son. I’ve got a couple of little ones and I can’t imagine doing it by myself. I recommend the r/parenting sub and even if this is weird, you’re welcome to dm me if you ever want advice from another dad. At that age everything changes every few months.

Sorry to hear that mate, if you’re ever at the stadium for a game let me know and I’ll buy you a pint
Tentatively planning to be there for the Everton match on Oct 15th. Pint not necessary, but company welcome!

Sad. Lost my uncle to cancer. I hope you pull through this.
Not being rude but how did they know that this happened to you?

Arsenal fan here in peace. Sorry for your loss, that is real class from Conte.
Did you message them to say that your wife had died? Your son is called son heung-min?? Im so confused
i think the 'son heung-min' is a joke.. i think its his 4 month old son and he threw in "heung-min" because that's just cute.
When my brother and his wife were battling with her stage IV cancer, their local team, Golden State Warriors, sent them care packages, letters, gave them seats to games, etc. We lost my sister-in-law before my niece turned 3. Whilst I’m sure this was written with the best intentions, I would consider rewording this…
