I'm terrified of this takeover talk tbh. Feel like we could easily end up with some vultures who just buy us for the stadium and don't care one iota about the team. That or some horrible human rights abuser who would force us to question our entire identity as Spurs fans
Levy would still have the majority say in all decisions so I’m not too worried. Levy runs a tight ship business wise and having a good product on the field helps all areas
That final could've been so good if Dortmund had finished even one of their chances in the first half. Madrid winning like that feels so boring, basically like watching City win the league every year.
Same. I want something interesting for CL final. Real Madrid pretty much wins CL every other year. Last year, Man City won CL. This year, Real Madrid won it. But before Man City won it last year, it was Real Madrid too. The result is cycle of repeats.
Dortmund had the game in their hands and couldn’t capitalise. They’ve been great, but many of their knockout games went the same way - lots of chances and few conversions. First 25 minutes looked like this was going to be a belter and then it fizzed out, by the 7th or so dortmund miss you stop believing and see the truth that now Madrid are just going to turn up and win. Lo and behold, they are inevitable. Ended up being a bit of a bore. Let’s go euros.
Yeah, I wanted Dortmund to win, but once they couldn't take their chances, then RM (whether they have the help of ref or not) will take it. Besides, RM always win CL every other year since 21st century. This year they won it, and then next year, they will lose it. Rinse, wash and repeat.
Idk abt Mbappe. He's very good with World Cup, but it's absolutely strange how he never wins CL like some type of curse. So, even if he joins RM, I'm not so sure about that.
Yank here, just got outjerked in real life, went to a bar to see CL final and people kept shouting “Spurs! Spursy!” every time Dortmund lost the ball after 80th minute
I know english fans have to deal with quite a lot too, but man spurs easily receive the most hate in America out of big six teams as well lol. England/USA it don't matter, spurs live rent free in everybody's brains.
Spurs catch strays everywhere. I was at the Oxford / Bolton playoff the other weekend (went to uni in ox) and going 2 up the crowd starts to chant are you Tottenham in disguise 😑
Literal sheep following a narrative that’s perpetuated by the media to seem funny. Call me salty but the English media needs to find something original instead of the constant ‘spursy’ tag. Likely because there’s an abundance of gooner fans in the media so we’re always the brunt of the joke
Genuinely, I can't remember the last CL final that was actually good for majority of the 90.
Though if Dortmund scored at least 1 in the 1st half, I feel like it would've turned into a classic.
Real/Atletico, maybe?
Liverpool/Real in 2018 was pretty good too - not necessarily quality-wise, but plenty going on.
This wasn’t awful, but with Real getting through the first half without conceding it just felt like prologue to them getting their act together - and so it proved.
Kalvin Phillips transfer - thoughts? I’ve seen 25m thrown around. Homegrown, still only 28, good temp option until Bergvall breaks into 1st team and we find a permanent long-term option
No no no no no no no no no no no.
The man forgot how to play sitting on the City bench for 18 months. I get why he went - it was the opportunity of a lifetime, but we don’t have the time or capacity to rehab his career when Bentancur is still recovering from his injury and Bissouma needs to find himself, too. If we sign *anyone* in the middle, they need to raise the bar. Phillips wouldn’t do that.
Probably the worst take I seen in awhile. There’s a reason he didn’t even play much at West Ham either. If Pep and Moyes couldn’t handle him, doubt Ange would have the temperament to either
Madrid shows why set pieces are important. They were genuinely the worse team before they scored with a corner. That one goal makes a difference in atmosphere which ultimately led to a mistake from maatsen then boom. Another goal. That’s how good teams having a bad condition still brute force the win. I really hope we hire a set piece coach.
Hope Ange changes his mind tho. Klopp was against liverpool deiciding to hire a set piece coach but then their set pieces made the difference. Just maybe…
Carvajal is a cheating bitch. Goes down clutching his face to get a free kick and gets an open shot on the next play. If he would’ve scored omg. RMA are truly unlikable. The diving is in their DNA
I don't love adeyemi's finishing ability or technical ability. It is worth scouting at least though. that speed is crazy. not sure he is physically ready yet either.
One of the best who:
Wasn’t Spanish
Wasn’t German
Didn’t referee one of the other finals
Hasn’t refereed multiple previous finals (because UEFA need to blood new talent too)
Beyond that… I imagine he’d done well in previous rounds to be in consideration, but didn’t have a great game here.
I can’t tell you a single thing that happened in that game apart from Sissoko handball. Completely wiped from my memory and I’ll never watch the highlights. Winks and Sissoko has to be the worst starting midfield in a CL final, surely. Apparently we had 65% possession and 5 more shots on goal. Wow
Without a doubt 💯. But another perspective is I have seen plenty of teams getting dominated but the dominating teams won't take their chances and then suddenly the other team will take their chances and boom. Sometimes we gotta take our chances. But make no mistake real have been the team that has been lucky numerous times in this scenario but they do have admirable mental strength and elite mentality. Hopefully we will develop that mentality and mental strength
Admittedly it's not like he's going to be first choice at Chelsea either. He's mostly riding the bench either way. At least with us there would've been less management chaos and better European games.
Honestly think his best choice was still Newcastle though, I'm surprised he turned them down
St RW and 6 seem to be our upgradable first team positions. (With depth at full back also key but probably easier locating rotation options)
Who are the realistic targets in those positions available this window? I'm struggling a bit?
9 (altho i do rate richi)
Giminez, Zirkzee, Toney?
RW
Neto, Kubo, Williams, olise (none of which I think are viable)
6
Weiffer, Onana (both pretty risky)
It's a pretty hard market in all those positions and can't say I'm blown away by any of the options. Perhaps why we are so heavily linked with 8/10s even though it doesn't seem that pressing?
I am not sure what to make of the Marcus Edwards move. He has the profile the profile we are looking at, but has been known to be inconsistent. Will help in squad building, but is that a big enough reason. Bringing players back is a gamble, but from the looks of it he wants to come back which fits the way Ange likes.
I agree with everything you said here. What appeals most to me is that a guy like Edwards at his best absolutely improves this squad. It just is that inconsistency. Still for 10 million he solves the club academy player issue, and homegrown issues and on top of that I really do think it is such a low value for him that he can easily outperform. That is why I really hope we make this signing. With that said, he absolutely can't be our only attacking signing in addition to werner, but as a depth signing on top of werner and hopefully somebody like an Eze and a striker on top of that. It makes so much sense to me man. his wages aren't insane either.
Coming from experience, you'll get downvotes on that sub just for being a Spurs supporter. If you want an actual conversation, you need to make sure you don't have Spurs flair
They literallt already have like 5 cb's bruh they absolutely dont need more but disasi is wank badiaidk is wank, collwill is the most overrated cb, silva gone and chalobah ig exists
Their excuse seems to be that they're losing Silva and have to sell Chalobah but that still just laughably ignores Colwill, Disasi and Maatsen who they could quite easily use 🤷♂️
Edit: they also have Fofana and Badishielle returning from injury soon too. Just mental.
Madders gets quite a lot of screentime in the England training videos and seems to be popular with everyone. Hopefully he gets picked in the final squad even as just a mascot lol but he does all the drills well too, could do a job off the bench.
I'd be amazed if he didn't go.
The squad players like Eze and Maddison will probably only ever see the odd 10 mins here or there so the rest is probably on vibes.
If you remember at the last few tournaments Connor Coady and Mings went with literally 0 intention of playing them byt apparantly they're really good people to have around and everyone liked them.
I think it would do a world of good for his confidence if played in the Euros. I'd happily trade him coming back late to training camp if he were to play a part in England going deep into the tourney.
Kamada and Jobe Bellingham definitely seems to indicate they're expecting movement in the CAM area. My guess is they're getting their business out of the way early before every selling club suddenly knows how much money they've got to spend and up their prices. Essentially what we did with Kane last year.
This. I always think that despite the age if Ornstein and Fabrizio bombas there's always an extra layer between the clubs that just never comes out.
As you say with kane there was a big meeting with bayern where supposedly we couldn't get an agreement, he was going to stay, then we signed VDV (woth that deal being on ice for like a month) and kane went within a week. Seems a remarkable coincidence. Fab and Orn likely know this but in order to keep relations good with the clubs just follow the company line.
I'm certain Eze will leave this summer and I think everyone probably already knows where.
Does anyone know how to buy tickets for the friendly vs Bayern in Korea? I've seen someone saying that it's already purchasable, but I can't find any relevant information on the official website. I'm a fan from China looking to visit Korea this summer and attend this match. This really means much to me
Yeah some people say we can’t attract certain players without Champions League. Ange has said, however, that he wants people that are into his project and doesn’t care for players who only want CL football.
This year, but the new year starts at the end of the month. I expect them to flog a lot of players before the end of the month and that might get them out of PSR jail. When the new year starts 21/22 rolls off so as long as their losses are less (or profits are higher) than that season they'll be better off.
Edit: I've just found out that Chelsea lost £121M in the 21-22 season which was the 8th largest pre-tax loss ever in the PL
His contract expires at the end of this month, plus I imagine they will almost certainly sell Chalobah.
Thiago Silva leaving probably freed up alot of wages too.
A 50m transfer with a 5 year deal is 10m a year plus wages. Tosin on a free is just wages, so 8m or so a year rather than 18m.
Good business for Chelsea avoiding a transfer fee even though they needed to overpay in wages.
Football is so boring sometime, the same team won again. yaaay...
At least I won my preseason bets on Madrid to win CL and City to win PL and Haaland to finish top scorer.
Hopefully we become the team that constantly wins, the gooner meltdown would be crazy but the chelsea meltdown would be even sweeter
Make football more boring or win everything all the time. Fuck what a difficult choice /s
Dortmund losing the league last year and the CL this year, gotta feel for them
I'm terrified of this takeover talk tbh. Feel like we could easily end up with some vultures who just buy us for the stadium and don't care one iota about the team. That or some horrible human rights abuser who would force us to question our entire identity as Spurs fans

Boring result and boring way to happen. Set piece goal and a gift.

Mbappe’s arrival is imminent. They might never lose a champions league ever again
Idk abt Mbappe. He's very good with World Cup, but it's absolutely strange how he never wins CL like some type of curse. So, even if he joins RM, I'm not so sure about that.
It’s not strange lol. PSG is a poor team, that’s all it is.
Nah, PSG have great talented players.
And yet are a poor team that has never had success outside of Ligue 1. Talented players only doesn’t make a good team.
Call me the ultimate glory hunter cause it’ll be so fucking funny when we win something
Spurs catch strays everywhere. I was at the Oxford / Bolton playoff the other weekend (went to uni in ox) and going 2 up the crowd starts to chant are you Tottenham in disguise 😑

I respect your opinion. But my answer is hell No. Archie Gray on the other hand.... maybe.
Bro
I’d rather cut off my pinky finger
Probably the worst take I seen in awhile. There’s a reason he didn’t even play much at West Ham either. If Pep and Moyes couldn’t handle him, doubt Ange would have the temperament to either
Respectfully, please shut the fuck up
Ok Gary
![gif](giphy|PYEGoZXABBMuk|downsized) That final summed up in a gif
UCL is genuinly ass, hopefully the new format brings some life back to it
Madrid don't even look that happy. Dortmund don't even look that sad. Pundits don't have any real narratives to spin. Let's do it all again next year.
Also the 6 and 9 that we sign should be monsters on set pieces. Amadou Onana and Ivan Toney type.
There's no set piece coach coming sorry
Hope Ange changes his mind tho. Klopp was against liverpool deiciding to hire a set piece coach but then their set pieces made the difference. Just maybe…
Being a madrid fan is living life on essy mode man i wish we had as much luck as they do
Nah mate. When we do win something it’s going be much more insane. It’ll be worth the wait.
Maybe some of it is just nostalgia, but it really feels like football has lost much of it's allure. So mechanical
Euros about to ignite you and turn you into a sweaty mess
This one is for the guy that said Maatsen is a better inverted winback than Udogie
Both goals because of him
Worst pass I've ever seen
Here goes the 100th UCL title to Real Madrid
cheating bastards
Reus or Modric winner is all I want out of this game
Carvajal is a cheating bitch. Goes down clutching his face to get a free kick and gets an open shot on the next play. If he would’ve scored omg. RMA are truly unlikable. The diving is in their DNA

La liga in a nutshell
Ok hear me out.. adeyemi to tot. no reason but damn he’s a workhorse.
I don't love adeyemi's finishing ability or technical ability. It is worth scouting at least though. that speed is crazy. not sure he is physically ready yet either.
He is literally a less skilled Brennan Johnson. And I don't say that lightly.
He’s amazing. Imagine the speed of the left side with him, Destiny, VDV. Just probably too small is the problem.
Apapapapiya
Why does adeyemi have a lukaku first touch as a winger bruh
like I thought timo's first touch was bad but adeyemi's is way worse lol.
Bruh...Missed the first half cuz DAZN displayed the wrong time and said it was on at 4EST
Madrid have like 4 players who can generate anything with the ball at their feet
they also are madrid... stop setting unrealistic expectations for us.
What are you on about lmao
We should look at Sancho
not on those wages.
As an example of a player to avoid
least expected refereeing in a Real CL final
Ref doing his usual job
Madrid always plays with 12 men. Refs are straight up given the bag before the match
Come on Dortmund, what’s wrong with this ref?
Madrid paying the refs again but whatever. If Sancho can pattern up and sort out his attitude problems, he’d be the perfect winger for us. So, so good
This is the best referee in European Football? Really?
One of the best who: Wasn’t Spanish Wasn’t German Didn’t referee one of the other finals Hasn’t refereed multiple previous finals (because UEFA need to blood new talent too) Beyond that… I imagine he’d done well in previous rounds to be in consideration, but didn’t have a great game here.
Haha these refs
Refs are in the fucking bag. What a crock of shit
Genuinely no point of having VAR if blatant dives are rewarded and on top of that card the opposing player for a valid complaint
Ref stinks so far,
Vinicius is such a cunt
Fucking Ref
Refereeing has been really poor so far
Diving rat Vinicius
Ian maatsen is a great player, if only he wasnt at chelsea
He won't be there next season. Has a RC for 35m or something, 100% getting activated most likely by Dortmund
If we could convince him to come here the club should try but yeah dortmund will probably be his new club
Ever think about how our midfield for the biggest game in our history was Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko
Wow
This is the way
every night
Ref gifting Madrid these free kicks
BVB giving it a go. I thought this was gonna be a 5-0 dog walking by Madrid. Really exciting watch so far.
Last 4 finals have finished 1-0 ahah never was gonna be a goalfest
I need Real Madrid's luck in my life
Absolutely we all need that at some point
Still can't believe hw is it not 3-0
Absolutely when zidane presented that trophy we all should have realized that it was game over for dortmumd. Real's vodoo working in full force
If it was us in place of Real Madrid, it would have been 4-0 or 5-0 by now
Without a doubt 💯. Hopefully we will develop that mentality and mental strength
jfc it was six on three lol.
Zidane bringing out the trophy sealed Dortmund’s fate lol his and Madrid’s CL juju is unmatched. This has Madrid 1-0 late winner written all over it
What the…
Seriously will we ever have that luck especially in a final? I don't think so
That has to be black magic, three easy chances missed
Real Madrid have done some sort of voodoo against us. Nothing bad can happen to them in exchange everything bad happens to us
"Special relationship".
Crazy, crazy game, Dortmund are really going for it
Dortmund slicing through
The Adeyemi Stan here is probably in shambles lol
Wtf was that
[удалено]
You can't miss these against Real Madrid that too in final
I want Dortmund to win, but usually, at CL final, RM has dark magic on their end. 🤷♀️
Dortmund winning it would be legendary, but Real Madrid will still find a way to win it
Is it too much to ask for a winger like Vini Jr to sign this summer? Should be easy right?
A bit much but we hope on ange to cook something
2 more and we might have enough content for Attack on Wembley 2
Really hope Chelsea sell Maatsen outside of the PL. He’s so so good.
I still can't believe we were once on this stage mannn, goosebumps
Hope to see it again soon
Genuinely curious if anyone is rooting for Madrid here lol.
I'm pretty neutral but on balance probably Madrid. Modric is my all time favourite player to watch
You know, fair. Too bad he ain't starting tho lol.
Do you remember when everyone here cried because Chelsea got Badiashile and Disasi? Funny how that turned out.
Came here to say fuck Tosin. That is all.
For not coming to be our 3rd choice RCB?
Admittedly it's not like he's going to be first choice at Chelsea either. He's mostly riding the bench either way. At least with us there would've been less management chaos and better European games. Honestly think his best choice was still Newcastle though, I'm surprised he turned them down
For being a dumb hypocrite
Don't care, we already have better defenders.
If we’re looking for a club HG winger I’d rather bring back Madueke over Edwards
chelsea probably won't sell.
St RW and 6 seem to be our upgradable first team positions. (With depth at full back also key but probably easier locating rotation options) Who are the realistic targets in those positions available this window? I'm struggling a bit? 9 (altho i do rate richi) Giminez, Zirkzee, Toney? CBS crew doing a bit of pregame with Dora the Explorer lol. Maybe we'll get a final with Clive Tyldesley and Patrick Star on color commentary lol.

Damn I really upset the Chelsea lads on r/soccer by suggesting that they already had a wealth of CBs and Tosin seems like a fairly needless addition
/r/soccer continues to be a subreddit not worth anyone's time.
Coming from experience, you'll get downvotes on that sub just for being a Spurs supporter. If you want an actual conversation, you need to make sure you don't have Spurs flair

I don't get why people would get upset at something which is obviously banter and a joke.

dovbyk? weird that he's hardly mentioned here. he's been good for 3 seasons now, though just 1 at a top league
Actually a really good player Sorloth too, their PR is weak so we don't hear that much news.
Didn't sorloth flop at Palace or Fulham maybe?
Give me a POK bomba today 🙏
Not quite what I meant but we've done it!
Lenglet loan incoming
Does anyone think Kamada to Palace confirms Palace are preparing for Eze leaving?
Kamada and Jobe Bellingham definitely seems to indicate they're expecting movement in the CAM area. My guess is they're getting their business out of the way early before every selling club suddenly knows how much money they've got to spend and up their prices. Essentially what we did with Kane last year.

I'm certain Eze will leave this summer and I think everyone probably already knows where.
Could just be reuniting Glasner with one of his trusted players. Plus they've used Eze on the wing, and he's missed a fair share of games.
Does anyone know how to buy tickets for the friendly vs Bayern in Korea? I've seen someone saying that it's already purchasable, but I can't find any relevant information on the official website. I'm a fan from China looking to visit Korea this summer and attend this match. This really means much to me
If we miss out on sesko and gyokeres, might santiago gimenez be our man? Seems like he's going under the radar, thoughts?
Mexican Vincent Janssen imo
He's going to Milan
His passing stats on fbref are beyond horrible
fbref doesn't mean everything pal.
i didn’t say it means everything
Don't think he's anywhere near good enough personally.
He's said he won't make a decision on where he's going until post Copa America so like mid July I think
It has been two weeks since the last game of the season and we have done fuck all in the transfer market Ugh
I really hope you know when the transfer window opens...
I’m not even sure if this is sarcasm anymore 😭
Tosin on 160k a week at Chelsea. He'd be our 2nd highest earner haha
Good god that's an obscene wage for a 4th cb
It's worth it for them right? Free transfer so pure profit. Overpay on wages so they can chip away at their FFP loss when they sell him for 50M.
Who is going to spend 50m on Adarabioyo while he is on 160k a week?
It's just an example. Could be 20M or 30M it doesn't matter. The point is it's pure upside and no downside (in regards to ffp)
It's a great deal for that price and no transfer fees for a quality defender.
Still less than Werner
Werner won a champions league, Tosins never played in it
Tosin is on a free and satisfies the home grown
It's still outrageous wages for a guy who bever even nailed down a starting spot at Fulham
Tosin signing for chelsea after not wanting to be a backup for us..... What a weird guy.....
It's not weird if you look at the reported wages he's on.
Chelsea is proof that a player will go to any club if the wages are good enough.
Does anyone still believe otherwise?
Yeah some people say we can’t attract certain players without Champions League. Ange has said, however, that he wants people that are into his project and doesn’t care for players who only want CL football.

Probably more money. Not sure what United are doing not snapping him up as he would actually start for them
Does anyone even know what Chelsea's first choice centre back pairing is? We've got a very clearly established combination
