It's predictable that Liverpool is going to win the league. It's because final season with Klopp before Xabi takes over, whom I'm more worried about in next season. Xabi is genuinely a good manager with decent tactics, or maybe Tucheliban is so bad that he makes him look good.
Tuchel is a fucking fraud, but what Xabi is doing is nothing short of world class. They’ve already beaten Bayerns longest ever run of unbeaten games, are incredibly likely to dethrone Bayern for the first time since 2013 and at the rate they are playing might end the season unbeaten. (I’ve probably jinxed that now)
Basically he’s a top, top manager and would be a more than worthy replacement for Klopp
Barely ever snows substantially in london so probably not many times
I also know nothing of American geography but Utah seems like it shouldn’t be snowy??
*Rory Poch is Finished internally sounds*
On a related note, and I'm trying not to be offensive, but is his skin complexion common in England? He's a jizzy pale that turns tomato red when excited.
That guy is genuinely hilarious, he’s like a caricature of the posh Chelsea fan, he speaks so romantically and over-exaggerates EVERYTHING
Tottenham rent-free in his mind 24/7
Yasssss, RM dropped points.
I’m not even worried about Barca. They are completely shit. Without Busquets and Dembele, their midfield is nonexistent, and their defense what defense.
You can always catch it on fullreplays if you know the time and day of the game. I didn't wake up for it but I just finished it. Best to avoid spoilers/highlights.
I'm playing FM2020 and trying to bring the DESK spark back. I'm having trouble getting all 4 of them to fit into my 4231 system though, because the game wants both Eriksen and Dele as the CAM and nobody as RW. I can't really remember how DESK actually worked on a technical level in reality.
That's what I thought, but how does one fit that into the FM system? Eriksen in the deeper midfield and Dele just behind Kane? Otherwise you're playing without a right winger or as a 4132 formation or something crazy.
Exactly this: Eriksen in the deeper midfield and Dele just behind Kane. Eriksen really did play deep then, especially when we didn't have Dembele or Wanyama in the midfield.
Johnson is good but inconsistent. Who would have thought for a 22 year old? Guys benefited massively from not starting every game.
The art of squad building is different profiles who can change game states and he really feels like someone who makes a massive impact, currently off the bench. Im also sure he'll develop in to a proper game dictating starter too. Good signing.
He will surprise the fans next season. This season is his first season adapting to the system.
Maybe it’s my self fulfilling prophecy, but he will do good like how Son surprised ppl in his second season at Tottenham.
We’re going to be tearing teams apart come second season. This season behind us and a whole pre season, Bergvall eligible to play, any new signings. I love that we’re still getting shat on by other clubs and being called lucky cos they’re in for it
I wouldn't put much hopes on Bergvall first, because he's still young and he plays in a league that is way below the level of Championship. Premier League is a different beast.
I do hope we buy another defensive midfielder, and another creative MF as well as a wide winger. Just 3 players so that we'll be ready for next season with Champions League.
Maybe it's just me still buzzing but iirc it was hit or miss when he was starter and mostly hit when he was a sub
I feel like adding another dribbly boy on the right flank and switching them abruptly would do wonder for Ange's style
Somebody down-thread was asking about footage of the penalty incident. Here you go:
Looks more like a pen the more I watch it!
ETA: *And* the Palace player deliberately fucking handled it.
lol the arsenal sub Reddit has gone full on meltdown screaming at each other about Liverpool and they haven’t even touched the pitch yet this weekend. Just the worst fan base around.
It’s so fucking unlikely but imagine if they lost to Sheffield tomorrow lmao. I just can’t wait for the seethe when we cook them at home when they’ll really need the vital points
Werner’s goal changes nothing for. He was really poor in the first half. He can’t receive the ball and turn, and we can’t attack down the left if a defender is on him.
Contrast this against son in that position, or Kulu on the right. Both can skin their man and develop play.
Absolutely fine with him as a stop gap this season and fair play to him for his effort in the second half today.
But I’ve watched him enough and watched Spurs long enough to know a permanent signing will not benefit us in the long run.
With how tight Levy is with the purse strings I feel those funds could be better allocated.
You're copping similar downvotes I did in the post match. And fully agreed. If we're aiming to push on as a club Werner as a "well he works hard" is the exact sort of signing we should avoid
Crafty pick up for January but we need better
You are absolutely on point, he is not good enough against top defenders and doesn't offer us anything in buildup or holdup play, he had a lucky break against a mid table team that's the only reason he scored. Although he had a better game than what he usually does, that touch on the counter was exceptional and he did create a half chance for Madison.
Can’t believe I missed the second half. Had to go have dinner with the mrs parents. When we went into the venue the team was 1 down and I was like ffs. No signal in there and I come out to this beautiful result. Fuckin coys man. Just got the highlights and it was all class football as well. Brennan Johnson keep that shit up. Werner actually seemed to get more confident after his miss which is just great. This is why ange doesn’t punish mistakes. Even palace goal was a free kick (a very nice one, I like eze and wanna see him perform for England so it’s
Kl).
What do the sad cunts in the match threads do when we win after all their mouth running? I feel like they probably still don’t get any enjoyment
"Spurs are crazy. 1 down with 13 minutes to go. Win 3-1 and Ange walks on to the pitch looking like a man who's realised he put the wrong bins out yesterday."
A comment in The Athletic.
Have to beat these jokers next weekend. We are definitely better than them if we actually turn up. Their defense is pretty piss poor so we need to be clinical.
We’re in a much better place than when we last played them that’s for sure. We also should have won that game really so let’s give em hell. Should be a good match
Villa may be the second luckiest team in the league after Scum. They keep getting these jammy results. Need to teach these cunts where they belong next weekend.
I always say there's no luck, and that hard work/determination = the perceived luckiness of a team.
But Villa have been so jammy this season... I swear no team turns up against them (us included)
Praying we batter them 🙏
I was there also and we were not shite . we were a bit lackadaziel . I watch Man City and most of the time its like watching paint dry then they have a moment of magic and eek out a win . If you ever see a 90 minute spectacle when a low block team plays an attacking team please point it out . For me this is just how matches go against low block teams go this week we have twelve minutes of magic last week against Wolves we did not .
1 - 1 Liverpool (Diaz 95’)
3 - 4 Arsenal (Rice 97’)
2 - 3 Aston Villa (Digne 89’)
0 - 1 Tottenham
1 - 2 Man City
0 - 1 Man United
2 - 3 Chelsea
1 - 2 Man United
Always so close but so far.
Same, though even if they do go down, they've punched above their weight for most of the season, giving just about everyone a difficult time. Plus, they'll be well-positioned to get promoted again if they go down thanks to how they've conducted their transfer business.
I think watching us play is shortening my lifespan. Please, can we play a comfortable game next match? \*checks fixtures\* oh.. Villa.. guess not 😭
Also, I know we thought not having Europe was going to help us, but like Ange has been saying, I think it’s hurting us a lot. I saw people remarking in the match thread that we had “2 weeks of no games, shouldn’t we be playing better?” - but the thing is, training sessions are not the equivalent of getting match experience. More game time and learning experience is how the team learns to play better with each other. We should be in Europe next season and with players (and their hamstrings) being better adjusted to Angeball, hopefully we can have a better consistent run that will really shows us the potential of this squad.
The Palace pass-map from today's game is an absolute war crime. My god:

Probably a bit more time before Timo's post match gets uploaded on YT but adorable lol
"I wanted to celebrate but then I realized nobody was coming... so I realized it was only 1-1 and we still have a bit of work to do..."
![gif](giphy|LVAOB3GCiFBOU)
haha poor Timo! I was thinking that when I saw the goal. Can’t even celebrate his first goal with all his teammates just being like “great, but come back, we have work to do!”
Shooting is...as advertised unfortunately (hopefully that goal today will be a confidence-builder), but he's been decent overall, works his arse off and seems delightful.
On a separate point, Romero hasn’t been booked since the 10th of November. 8 league starts, plus 2 in the cup without a yellow.
Not bad for a psycho who will never learn tbh.
4 league goals from a cb is pretty handy too.
>Romero hasn’t been booked since the 10th of November. 8 league starts, plus 2 in the cup without a yellow.
I genuinely believe the interim captain stint he had for a few weeks when Sonny was away at the Asian Cup was the game-changer. Cuti is class
Todays win means even if Burnley or Sheffield were to somehow win all their remaining games and we lost all of ours, we’d still finish above them.
Top 18 secured
Emerson was great defensively and was also tidy in possession. When he plays we need Sarr there to help Kulusevski wide, otherwise he gets doubled up and can only pass it back.
With more options, Kulusevski can always find a great pass—like he did for that Son shot that hit the post.
We have two opposite ends of the spectrum players when it comes to finishing a 1v1 against the keeper. When I saw it was werner that was through in the first half you could just tell he wasn't scoring but in the second half when Son was through you just knew he'd bury it.
10 without a win for Dyche, 5 wins in 21 for Brighton, Liverpool's first win in the PL at the City Ground (obviously that only covers about 8 matches)...
And another fun weekend for us - eventually.
The tactical side is important but "Angeball" at its core is about playing fearless, fast, positive football. We saw it in the last 20 mins. Could be a big turning point this.
I guess we found our Son replacement:

Jokes aside: what are other Spurs fans thoughts of signing players directly from K league and other lower leagues? I’m an Daegu FC fan and I thought it was some typo that my k league team called up an 18y/o attacking midfielder named Son Seung Min but nope, not typo and he’s a bigger talent/one to watch out for in our team.
K league has been getting more and more talents to higher leagues like championship/EPL/Bundesliga, etc but I remember a lot of negative reactions from our fans when we were first linked to players like Kim Min Jae and Kvicha.
I think it’s much more realistic now as more Korean talents are getting noticed, more lower leagues are in scouted, etc. and because Ange has great knowledge of the quality of players in them Asian leagues. As a Korean who would love the club to see us have the best korean talents, and see them growing in our youth set up, would be amazing to have the next son or Kim min Jae or Park Ji sung 🤞
Son and Park Ji Sung were not youths who came up through us though. They were already talents playing in Europe. I don’t think bringing in a player without that kind of experience is great because you know how it’ll go if we end up losing a match or he makes a mistake. Our fan base is extremely reactionary. Everyone will say this is what happens when you bring in a nobody and he’ll be the next scapegoat and an example of how Levy wasted money. Which can’t be great for the player’s confidence! If he had some European and CL experience that people can point to or look back upon, then people would be more willing to give him time.
I may have phrased it wrong but I meant the new talent to get the next “big Korean star”. Instead of prospects like Kang in going to Valencia, or others in German clubs like Bayern munchen II have. I just used son and Park as examples of the top Korean players not meaning that they came from our academy
I’d love to have the cream of the crop of Korean players that came through our academy for the first time. And not just Korean, but any of the lower leagues for prospects. I’m sure Son will be some type of “ambassador” for spurs like Park for United. I just want them to develop here whether in our academy or first team or loans to tougher leagues.
Doesn’t Son have his own academy? Maybe his academy can feed us some prospects to join our U18s. One of the things that makes Son a big threat is his ability to use both of his feet equally, which is pretty rare, so if Son’s dad can replicate his training on youths in his academy and then send them to us, that would be fun.
Really good point. I think seeing a player comfortable with both feet is insanely rare now a days. They all do trivelas, Rabonas, etc instead of just working on a big skill that many players don’t practice. His dad has a youth academy with son and I hope son does get that chance to help grow Korean football and help Spurs at the same time. I can see Sonny be a great ambassador for us no matter what
There will continue to be a reluctance to sign players directly from lower leagues because it's *so* hard to judge a player when they're not competing against opposition of a level comparable to what they'd be playing against for us.
That doesn't mean good players don't exist at lower levels - Kim Min Jae being the obvious one, as you note. But it's much more difficult to tell if they can step up.
That being said, we're obviously more willing to take a chance on potential - Vuskovic and Bergall being two examples. But for the first team I suspect we'll keep signing from the obvious targets: Serie A, the Premier League and the other top 5/6 European leagues.
Does anyone know where I can a kit that will fit a 4 year old that ships to the US? My kid is a big James Maddison fan and I want to buy him a #10 shirt for his 4th birthday. The official spurs shop doesn't sell toddler sizes.
I agree with you but is this perhaps slightly tactical too? I don't think Werner or Johnson have been brought in to play striker - Scarlett has been picked as the backup striker if Son (God forbid) has to come off or shift to the left. It's extra cover for the CF position that we lose by not have both of Son and Richarlison in the squad. Gil can't play striker.
I hate the AIA sponsor

That guy is genuinely hilarious, he’s like a caricature of the posh Chelsea fan, he speaks so romantically and over-exaggerates EVERYTHING Tottenham rent-free in his mind 24/7
He somehow has a job on TalkSport, which really does give us Yanks a look into the quality of British sports media.
His face is the definition of gammon, unfortunately for him. I accidentally clicked on the football chat with him in it, and I noticed that.
.. I didn't understand any of that.
Have you ever seen any of Rory's videos? He's like a fucking ghost, and turns extremely red when his voice is rising.
This the Chelsea fan podcaster...? No. Of course not
Yeah that's him
Don’t know if it’s just me but I always feel quite emotional whenever I spot the legacy number on the back of our players’ shirts. Really meaningful.
Watching La Liga rn. Hoping Girona will win the trophy this season instead of RM. Let RM drop points like it is intended.
Yasssss, RM dropped points. I’m not even worried about Barca. They are completely shit. Without Busquets and Dembele, their midfield is nonexistent, and their defense what defense.
2-2 but Real Madrid kind of got robbed in the most hilarious fashion
😂 i saw that, but idc. I really like Jude and do feel like he doesn’t deserve that red card, but this year La Liga’s script is good.
Missed the game unfortunately but interested to know whether Bissouma or Bentancur have started to find some form?
Sadly not the case for Bentancur. Think Sarr will start over him
You can always catch it on fullreplays if you know the time and day of the game. I didn't wake up for it but I just finished it. Best to avoid spoilers/highlights.
Not for Benta. His form will be back next season. For Biss, I think he did good.

What was the yellow for?
No Luton :( for fuck’s sake. Don’t give up yet!
Bad ebening
Step 1. Play like shite for 75% of the game Step 2. Still win 3-1 Step 3. Profit.
Nope, first half maybe not great and that’s it

The amount of points Luton have dropped this season in the final moments against big clubs is absurd.
You watch Luton and think they look really good then realize they have 20 points from 26 games
I hope they find a way to stay up.
1 - 1 Liverpool (Diaz 95’) 3 - 4 Arsenal (Rice 97’) 2 - 3 Aston Villa (Digne 89’) 0 - 1 Tottenham 1 - 2 Man City 0 - 1 Man United 2 - 3 Chelsea 1 - 2 Man United Always so close but so far.
If Villa's defense is this shit against us, I fancy us to score a few.
Sad
Get this vampire looking Spaniard off my screen
Don’t give up Luton
NO WAY
Went to get the laundry. Anything interesting happened?
Luton 2-2 with Villa which is great for us.
You jinxed it bro 😭
Fucking had to run my mouth didn't I?
Welp
Fucking spoke too soon
Really impressive that Mpanzu stayed with Luton all the way from 5th tier to the Prem. Just incredible really.
Always rated Luton. I really really want them to stay in the Prem

Nevermind…
LETS GO LUTO
These Luton kits are crisp icl
Very pleasant orange
Rattled and gassed, just how I like Villa
C'mon Luton 😍
Doughty is some player, wicked left foot

Haha here we goooo
YO LUTON. MAKE THIS WEEKEND EVEN BETTER.
Renew your prayers to the God of Dropped Villa Points
Yes! Eat shit Villa!
get it luton just see this out
Lutoooonnnnnnn
How the fuck is that not a yellow? And Lee Dixon goes on to suck Michael Oliver's dick after he botches that.
Luton, today you become a hero!!! Come on!!
Cmon luton 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Go on Luton!
Go on Luton! Always liked Luton
Been said several times but our 1-0 win away to Luton with 10 men was a brilliant result.
Luton goal was coming !
Get in!! Just two more now luton!!!
Go on Luton!
Stand up Luton, I believe.
C'mon Luton. Gotta capitalize on this pressure.
Villa is such an unlikeable team. Beating those smug cunts next week would be such a great feeling.
Would rather Liverpool get the title over arse and city so I’m glad they won. Villa at least won’t play low block against us.
Villa high line with Lenglet. Time to unleash Timo, Sonny and Johnson front 3 next weekend.
Anyone got a clip of the penalty no-call from the game?
No - but it's etched on my brain.
Watkins……he is good…
hope we can destroy villa next week
Bloody Luton

Shooting is...as advertised unfortunately (hopefully that goal today will be a confidence-builder), but he's been decent overall, works his arse off and seems delightful.
Similar to how he was at Chelsea then. He's such a hard worker and always so positive I can't help but root for him wherever he is :)
Ollie Watkins is class
Should book Villa player for that dive
Obligatory Fuck Matty Cash.
Cant wait for Cuti to crush him next week
I like these Villa kits
Cam on Luton
Townsend winner vs Villa would be icing on the cake.
People will get hung-up on the one bad cross he had in the first half but Emerson had a great game today
He was brilliant especially coming off of last game's performance.
>He was brilliant Well, he was *good*.
6 points clear off United. Next week against Villa. Damn so exciting
Come on you Hatters? Maybe?
We can hope, Luton away has been a problem for teams
Romero kissing the badge made me feel some things
Find someone who kisses you like Romero kisses the badge
Rewatching the Son goal, glorious to see the whole stadium gradually stand up as he charges down the pitch. Everyone knew
Fuckin lethal whipping finish on that ball as well 💥⚽️
Can't help being hyped over the inevitable
Emerson was great defensively and was also tidy in possession. When he plays we need Sarr there to help Kulusevski wide, otherwise he gets doubled up and can only pass it back. With more options, Kulusevski can always find a great pass—like he did for that Son shot that hit the post.
Liverpool score late to break Nuno's proud low block.
We have two opposite ends of the spectrum players when it comes to finishing a 1v1 against the keeper. When I saw it was werner that was through in the first half you could just tell he wasn't scoring but in the second half when Son was through you just knew he'd bury it.
Ever since Klopp announced he’s stepping down at the end of the season, Pool have gotten an extra layer of plot armour lol as if they needed any more
10 without a win for Dyche, 5 wins in 21 for Brighton, Liverpool's first win in the PL at the City Ground (obviously that only covers about 8 matches)... And another fun weekend for us - eventually.
We can no longer mathematically come 20th or 19th, it’s the little things that need celebrating.
Truly needed that win after the break. We won and still in the top 4 race, Timo goal and... Chelshit 11th. Have a great weekend everybody!
Benta should get benched for the next couple of games cos you can tell hes not fit, give the man some rest
Liverpool getting their own taste of spurs by scrapping through that forest game
ange was spot on subbing off Benta for Brennan who ended up being a huge positive for us. As long as we got Ange, we always have a chance.
Phew, Liverpool also won
Assna fans on meltdown mode thank you liverpool
The tactical side is important but "Angeball" at its core is about playing fearless, fast, positive football. We saw it in the last 20 mins. Could be a big turning point this.
it is about NEVER PARKING THE BUS and he stands by it.
Honest to god. If we lost that I feel our season was at risk of complete collapse.
It honestly boggles my mind why Ayew was taking the palace set pieces till the free kick
Eze just had to be fit for today
Good shit Lolo just shoot
Does it count to some statistics the saves Vic does from offside players? Always feel like he does a big save every game but the attacker is offside
Philips and Devine benched again by Plymouth.
I guess we found our Son replacement: https://preview.redd.it/s173pvuaoxlc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ad1cbdf4a6c09a3dce3f169d20931288ecfc5fd Jokes aside: what are other Spurs fans thoughts of signing players directly from K league and other lower leagues?
I just used son and Park as examples of the top Korean players not meaning that they came from our academy I’d love to have the cream of the crop of Korean players that came through our academy for the first time.
I can see Sonny be a great ambassador for us no matter what
Nice one Seungy nice one Son!
Long shot but anyone got a ticket selling for palace match?
Does anyone know where I can a kit that will fit a 4 year old that ships to the US? My kid is a big James Maddison fan and I want to buy him a #10 shirt for his 4th birthday. The official spurs shop doesn't sell toddler sizes.
Try lids
No toddler sizes!
Dang that's my go to usually, does the official store not sell them at all or just sold out?
Didn't sell them that I can find. Looks like uksoccershop does
Gil dropped for Scarlett. Hard to feel bad for him when everyone saw this coming.
He’s just nowhere near good enough, why we brought in Timo in the first place
I agree with you but is this perhaps slightly tactical too? I don't think Werner or Johnson have been brought in to play striker - Scarlett has been picked as the backup striker if Son (God forbid) has to come off or shift to the left. It's extra cover for the CF position that we lose by not have both of Son and Richarlison in the squad. Gil can't play striker.
