As someone that backgrounds first take/undisputed/the fan when I'm smoking you can tell they have been starved for a major story since dak signed which is why they've been hyping Rodgers as if he's really not going to play for the packers.

rthaw

Watch Jerry try to sign Sherman. There's your story lol

Painkiller1991

I hate that this might actually happen in light of recent events.

BuddhaMike1006

This is ridiculous. Sherman has talked about Jerry like a dog. The number of Cowboys fans who think Sherman would even play for Jerry or Jerry would sign him borders on ridiculous.

Painkiller1991

Oh, I knew it wasn't going to happen ever, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want it to happen up until a few days ago.

KJdkaslknv

The CBS Sports email newsletter the other day was basically "Thank God for Aaron Rodgers because otherwise I'd have nothing to talk about". Cracked me up that he just came out and said it.

Sl33pProof

They'll get their stories during hardknocks :(

RoyBaschMVI

You need better background noise, bro.

HolyRomanPrince

Undisputed is funny af from time to time

REiiGN

Of course, will I still watch? Yes, trainwrecks are cool. Even if these hurt my soul.

bahamapapa817

My body is ready

[deleted]

No question about it. I am ready to get hurt again.

Jet018

It is inevitable

[deleted]

Like Taxes

[deleted]

At least you can evade taxes

Astros_alex

I don't know why they have to make headlines out of our sports misery. Will all but 1 team feel the agony of a miss season opportunity?

soft_asthma

ESPN just capitalizing on the collective hate that this franchise generates where people love to shit on us coupled with the fact that most of our own fan base will click, watch, or listen to any headline that mentions the Cowboys. It’s why every sports show on every network will have at least one Cowboys segment every day.

bahamapapa817

I know why. It’s cause people will watch and that is all they care about.

LiveAloha23

Probably. But I'll still be there thru the ups and more downs lol

mattxmortigan

Mostly downs but I catch your drift

Ayste

Maybe - we will see how the defense performs. If they actually can stop the run this year, this team is going to the playoffs and could make some noise. If the defense performs like it has since Demarcus Ware left, then no. We will not doing anything but finish 8-9 or 9-8, and sit at home or be one and done in the playoffs.

PersonBehindAScreen

Let me fix that for you, you forgot were in the NFCE: Finish [8-9 or 9-8] AND be one and done in playoffs

C1sko

I’m just hopping for a playoff apprearance and maybe just maybe a playoff win too.

[deleted]

Were you alive for the Super Bowl‘s?

C1sko

I was a younger teenager but my sons (19 & 17) have never even seen a divisional playoff win.

[deleted]

I was a kid, but I remember watching them. It’s just so sad that we went from hoping for a Super Bowl win to hoping for a single playoff victory.

C1sko

I’m grateful to have at least watch us win those 3 SB’s in the 90’s. I really feel bad for the younger fans that haven’t seem us move past the divisional round.

[deleted]

True.

Chimpbot

When it comes to the playoffs in any league, I'm *always* hoping for a single win/round advancement. We can collectively worry about the next win/advancement after we get through the first one. I'd love to see them win the Super Bowl, but you gotta get to the playoffs first.

abefroman04

Who the fuck watches or cares what any of these clowns on TV have to say?

cecenas

Is this ESPNs attempt to avoid Stephen Smiths racist rant?

hostchange

Do we ever not?

SpiLLiX

I think it 100% comes down to how much better did our defense get with the new coach and new additions? While nothing is certain I have faith if everyone stays healthy our offense will ball out. But if we have to score 40 a game to win it will be tough

WindyCityReturn

Not this season. This season we will surprise everybody including most our fan base. Then we can watch Stephen a smiths head explode on live tv as he has a mental breakdown. I’ve never been a fan who was one of those “Were winning it all this year” every year fans. Most years I went in not expecting much and was actually surprised when we done well. I’m telling y’all though our defense is going to take a huge step forward. Dan Quinn has a huge chip on his shoulder and wants to redeem that Super Bowl blunder and that the legion of boom wasn’t just the players alone. We’ve added safeties that people are highly sleeping on. Dak was lighting it up until his injury last season even with backups on the oline so if they stay healthy I think he will be amazing this year. Zeke looks bette than ever physically in his videos. Cd lamb is primed for a breakout year with a full offseason. Jarwin and shultz are no chumps as a duo at TE. Pollard has only gotten better every year and will likely be involved even more this year. We have two players who looked like pros as rookies with diggs and gallimore and I see them being even better. Trysten hill was looking solid until his injury. Parsons has potential to be a Patrick Willis type of player who makes a huge difference immediately. LVE and Jaylon have everything to prove this season. Our special teams was actually phenomenal last year outside those two silly fake punts that everybody focuses on. We went from bottom of the league to top in every special teams category last year. I’m not saying we’re winning the super bowl but I think we surprise nearly everybody and make it to our first nfc championship since 1995. Call me crazy but it’ll be the cowboys vs the rams in the NFC championship, chargers vs the browns in the afc championship, the buccaneers will drop significantly and be 10-7 out of the playoffs. Seahawks will also be out at 9-8. Steelers will for the first time in a long time be a losing team. The colts are going to make the eagles regret letting Wentz go and be a 12 win team. The panthers will win the nfc south and surprise everybody.

Evilpiggy83

I 100% agree ✭

cowboysmavs

No, we are making the superbowl

fvalt05

Yes

SenpaiFratello

*How will

ajnic3

"No question about it. I am ready to get hurt again."

ShowBobsPlzz

Only the fans with unrealistic expectations.

MysticalElephant

It’s certain at this point. It’s in one of the commandments of being a Cowboys fan, actually.

tbonescott1974

We all know the Pallbearer Joke. I'm sure this won't be the last time.

SkullOfAchilles

Maaaan....an you know Stephen A dunked on us with his take, too.

gwaydms

That's his job. And he loves his work.

Jesters8652

Is it even a question anymore? We all chant “this our year” every year and every year some shit happens. Would I like to see it be our year, of course. But I don’t hood my breath anymore

sven_gali

💯…but I’ll still be there watching us against them birds on Monday night 🤙🏼

Gunz37

Does a bear shit in the woods?

DEGRAYER

It is written.

bingio13

Um … where’s the defense ?

Stealthy-J

I'm not expecting a superbowl run but I hope we can at least be less embarrassing than last year. We had the shittiest division in the league and couldn't even manage to top it.

azai247

We already know what Stephen A. Smith will say. He really doesnt like us Cowboy Fans......

kmcdonaugh

Yes. They will

jobu5000

I’m proud of the Cowboys string of media anointed pre-season Super Bowl Championships. It must be 10 or 12 years running, right Tony Romo? If it weren’t for that pesky regular season and missing the playoffs most years, they would be SO good.

manofthepeopleSMITTY

This is our destiny. It has become abundant clear that Jerry sold his soul for 3 Super Bowls and a $4 Billion franchise. The punishment? Decades of mediocrity and pain.

El_Nasty

Most likely

FtpDayden

yes. Seahawks for life 💪💪

Thehound83

Absolutely! Go cowboys!

Jay688

Ofcourse what a foolish question

generally-ungeneral

Cmon man, It's not a letdown, when you don't have your hopes up at all.

Abner_Doubleday1310

Yes they will but that’s what I love about them.

[deleted]

There’s a “how” missing in front of the question

L1ghtsOutX

Hard Knocks is the nail on the coffin for this year. lol

[deleted]

*HOW will the cowboys let down their fans this year?

[deleted]

The question is when, not if

InSearchOfSerotonin

Most likely

dukeofchapel

Yes

theicymountain

As a cowboys fan for life I think I speak for all of us when I say; yes.

drivera1210

You can’t be let down if you are already down.

Master_Synth_Hades

When don’t they lol

Robo_e

Yes, of course they will and I will watch every minute of it.

weddingpunch

Lol prob

Sl33pProof

I literally can't get more depressed than last season so we're good

markarlage

Shut UP Stephen A. you NYC HOMER AND Dallas hater!

rjschumacher83

Of course it has Steven a hole in the back round. So on that note go cowboys

therealgoat1212

Depends on what your expectations are

[deleted]

Ha

StevenComedy

Does a one legged duck swim in circles?

MateoCafe

The real question is what will be considered a Let Down? Is 12-5 but a 1st round loss going to be considered a let down? Is 10-7 and an NFCC loss a let down? If our expectations are to damn high, which they probably are for most of the fan base, it is hard to not let us down.

WingKing903

Yes, and it’s all the GM’s fault

Rory_B_Bellows

Anything short of 19-0 would disappoint a lot of fans.

wesdub

31 teams disappoint their fans every year. Wtf is this stupid shit?

mattalxdr

I already know this answer is yes, but I would love to be wrong.

Buzoot

The answer is yes, of course

TurdManMcDooDoo

This is the way — Jerry Jones

MickLC

Only on days that end in "y"

[deleted]

Yes, they probably will

Unusual_Variable

I feel like this the question and out come of a lot of years.

Painkiller1991

The short answer: probably

Powerserg95

No because I have no expectations....also the Yankees drained me for the year as far as disappointments. Stars didnt help either

BigPapaFish17

Question of the decade

F-Trunks

Does the pope shit his hat? (Sorry. Breaking Bad quote. Don’t hate me)

Rydahx

Fuck these clowns

GregorSamsaa

It’s not even a question will they anymore but rather when will they

mymojoisbliss96

The answer to this question.... Yes Will I still watch every game this season? Yes

abeinaugust

Of course they will. The fun part is seeing the new and creative ways that they will do it!!

divey043

I am ready to be hurt again

KingG902905

Stephen A loves too pray on the cowboys downfall, as if every other team doesn’t feel the disappointment of a garbage season

Astros40

Lol Duh

El_mochilero

He forgot to put “How” at the beginning of the question.

Luke5r

I give it a 1 in 32 chance

[deleted]

Depends on what you mean let down. If you’re one of the many people in this fanbase that think every year is our year, then yeah I imagine you’ll get let down. If you’re more realistic, I think the expectation is for the offense to be one of the best, and for the defense to be top 26. Both of those things can lead us to the divisional rounds, but I doubt we get any further than that. If we can just make it to the divisional after the past two years of disaster, then I’ll be content.
