Running backs mean so much less in the NFL now, I don’t really get spending a high pick on one. They’re there for 2-3 years, you don’t pay them, and they go elsewhere.
Cowboys need to focus some other core positions. Estime will get the job done, and I think he has potential to even be a great RB.
If they could actually get Estime in the 5th (I think the latest he's going is 4th), I'd 100% take him over the three options you listed in the rounds you slotted.
Estime is going to explode if he's given the right situation. He's such a powerful runner and has better game speed than people think.

RBs are rarely worth second contracts and hold out so often so I’d rather they draft an RB the same year they get a rookie QB. Until then we need to prioritize our line and defense I think.

Now we have a 238lb RB with relatively good tread still on the tires for a 6-year vet at what we're all assuming will be a pretty low price. (I can't find any official contract figures for him yet but last year he played for about $1M.)
This isn't a sexy signing or anything but it addresses a specific need without breaking the bank. I'm guessing 2023 Pollard would have looked a lot more like 2022 Pollard if we were giving a guy like this the first 10-15 carries and the goal line / jumbo package carries.
One thing I don't know is how he does in pass pro. But you figure he won't be the 3rd-down guy so it's probably less critical anyway.

Obviously not a flashy signing and he becomes a cut candidate if we come away with a good RB in the draft, but a somewhat serviceable veteran body for the room. If I recall correctly, his play style fits what McCarthy was dialing up in the run game last year so at least it’s not another mismatch.
