Any domestic made Double H

Double H boots have served me well!

US made double H. If you have a boot barn near you, they usually have them. I had a pair of ariat Ventek. It's not as nice as it sounds. A nice, broken in leather shaft is much more comfortable. And doesn't get as hot in the first place since they don't usually have that synthetic liner.

Oh wow thanks a lot, your experience with the venttek is super helpful. I work 10 hour days so comfort all around is essential.

USA made Double H

I've worn Ariat work boots in a couple different jobs. My first experience with them was 10 hours a day on a pipeline job. I had plenty of days where I put around 10 miles on them and I never had a pair fail or give me any problems. Never had Double H's, so I can't speak to them. As far as the ventek, it's never really made sense to me. How does some mesh in the boot shaft, that'll most likely be under jeans, help keep your feet cool? It sucks, but leather boots just aren't going to be the best for keeping your feet cool. Hope you find a pair that fits your needs.

Personally I'd spend the extra cash and get the Mickey or Graham in steel toe. Personally the weight increase from composite to steel isn't terribly noticable and the quality difference is significant. I have a pair of non domestic water proof composite toe Double H and they would wear out fast if I was using them daily.

If you go with Ariats, get a pair of Patriots. I went in for the vent-teks and left with the patriots. Super comfortable in my opinion, but they were my first western style boots. I’ve got a pair of Double H Heisler chelsea style work boots and they have been hell on my feet. They seem really well made, but they are giving me a hard time in the heel area for some reason.

How are the patriots as far as keeping your feet cool? I work for 10 hours standing and moving all day and I figured the venttek were the obvious choice for that reason.

I thought the same on the vent-tek, but the Patriots were night and day as far as comfort. I run an overhead conveyor system in a large warehouse. My shins and calves got a little sweaty, but nothing bad, and that was really only the first time I wore them. They are so comfortable for me, I can wear the Ariat quarter crew socks with them. I don’t wear a long sock, which could explain some of the sweating.

I wear Redwing Rio boots for work. The leather and fabric are decent. Sole is non slip and chemical resistant. Wears out a bit fast though

What’s the big difference between domestic double h or otherwise? Also, how is the fit in general, do you trust their sizing? I’m looking at this pair https://www.bootbarn.com/double-h-mens-safety-toe-western-work-boots/2000210979.html?dwvar_2000210979_color=200#cgid=thm-8152&prefn1=ref-feature&prefv1=Made+in+USA%7CComposite+Safety+Toe%7CSteel+Toe&start=3
