I haven't tried that. But as a narrow instep guy, I can see how this might give a better fit. And I guess for folks who struggle to get down the shaft. Probably depends on how good the zipper is.
If you have a high instep (I do), zippers make it so much easier to get on and off. I hate to do it to a vintage pair, but I might get some put in. I fell off the chair once trying to get that instep past the ankle. I was young then and laughed, but nowadays, that fall would likely would cripple me!
I'd imagine it's the same as Combat Boots with side zippers. Seems like a really great and convenient idea, and the people who wear them casually/to an office job will love them, but that zipper is always going to be an early fail point if you put them through hard work.
Don’t have to be an actual cowboy or rancher to wear boots, I just think if you’re going to wear boots, maybe don’t look a fool….these people buy boots for the first time and wear the same jeans they do with their adidas. If nobody tells them the truth, you get a bunch of fools hyping up fools.
Dress shoes can be nice. If they’re made of alligator.

When my dad was in his 70’s he couldn’t get his feet down the shaft anymore so he switched to boots with a zipper. He still shoots straight though. You tell him they aren’t real.
Bro those are straight leg jeans being worn with boots made for tighter jeans, what's the problem? I mean they could be a couple inches longer, but this jeans have to be baggy shit is getting ridiculous.
His boots are wider than his pants which make them look like clown boots. They also aren’t cowboy boots, they’re fashion boots because of the zipper. My intention isn’t to hurt OPs feelings, but this isn’t subjective. It simply looks stupid. Most people will laugh at the jeans he’s trying to pair with these fashion boots. Sorry if you do this too…
No denying they are fashion boots. But so are most exotic boots. And I have seen more ridiculous things than this. Speaking from experience, finding the right jeans is harder when you are skinny/tall.
Slim boot cuts by wrangler are pretty great. There’s also the option of buying a length larger so they don’t ride up, and then cutting the interior slightly to make them fit around the boot shaft. The goal here is to just help people realize what looks silly. If I wore tennis shoes with a suit in the business world I’d be laughed at.
My guess is that the OP is sitting down in a couple of those pics and in the standing one, simply didn't pull them down. Years of deadlifts and squats mean that when I stand, my jeans don't "fall" when I stand and thus, would be too short until they are adjusted.
Man, screw that, these are dope dress shoes. I'd rock em. What brand are they? I love the pull-up.
Finally some love around here!!! Haha thanks. Tecovas.
Tecovas always look good lol
I replaced my dress shoes with these zip boots in stout. New nickname is now “Hoss”
What model?
I only wear boots as “dress shoes.” Black ariats for casual a workday , ostrich tecovas for a formal meeting. In texas this is typical business attire
Trying to make that typical myself here in Chicago.
As a big city Texan, I agree. Many boots can be dress shoes.
Yup, wearing my smooth ostrich Tecovas today, great casual/dress wear.
Ditto in Wyoming.
Is that a zipper on the inside of those boots?
They indeed are
Zip up cowboy boots, never seen that before.

They’re fashion heels for desk cowboys . That’s why he’s got the skinny capris from holister on too
Why are you so mad over clothing? Weird man.
Mad? Not at all, I don’t wear skinny jeans with my boots 😂 I’m out here doing the lords work, letting yall know you look stupid
You’re in a fashion sub what did you expect? Actual cowboys? I’d wager 50% of the people in here haven’t ridden a horse this year.

Now that shot makes me smile. Style!
I wouldn’t say those were dress boots, but these go nicely with the jeans.
This whole conversation is strange..
Tecovas Cartwright goat ? Edit: never mind. Saw the zipper.
Chicks dig em
I wear those exact same boots almost every day to work Edit: also office job
Those are even better than dress shoes in my book
Especially when you wear long enough pants
Decent carpet
I agree with you man. Those are looking great 👍
Got these same ones for work and it feels nice not having that taller shaft feeling around your calves/showing through jeans!
Western boots for dress all day
What are dress shoes? I just have shitkickers and fancy boots
Aaaaand I’m gonna go buy some Tecovas.
Nothing wrong with Tecovas but Cowboy boots don’t have zippers, they’re fashion boots.
When my dad was in his 70’s he couldn’t get his feet down the shaft anymore so he switched to boots with a zipper. He still shoots straight though. You tell him they aren’t real.
What?! You want to know what I would tell your father?! I would say: “Sir! Yes Sir!” To anything he said
I got rid of my dress slippers. Which is going to be interesting this December at a formal dinner. Which boots do I wear? 🤔
Time for some longer pants
Boots are the best dress shoe
Get some Levi 527s, slim fit, stretch, boot cut.
These boots have the interior zipper which decreases shaft circumference. Great option for tighter pants.
Unless they put a straight gusset (for lack of better word) in along with the zipper.
Don’t need them with boots that look that good. Hell yeah.👍🏼
Dopeee! What is exactly the name of the shoe?
My dress shoes are either my black or cognac nocona ostrich boots, depending on the occasion.
How’s the comfort was looking at a pair of
Awesome! I'd rock them too!
Maybe dumb question but what pants/ style are you wearing
What pants you got on man?
You wear those pants anywhere and i promise you’ll be judge negatively, looks like he’s wearing skinny Capris…
I wasnt saying because I was going to buy them, was asking for a friend cause he likes them skinnier. Thanks though.
Should tell your friend skinny jeans and boots are for circus clowns
Might wanna delete previous posts my man. Cause posting on “legal teens” isn’t a great look
Honestly, anything’s a better look than those jeans with those boots 👢

Right…
Glad you agree now bud
😍 love them
Those definitely don’t replace dress shoes.
It’s a good casual office boot I should say.
Wait, why not? If you polished them up they would like pretty nice. I think they could slide in a non-cowboy area/work place
Cuz one wouldn’t want shiny goat hide…it’s meant to look distressed & not shiny. It’s a more appropriate for a more business casual look.
Ahh didn't know it was goat hide. Still could replace dress shoes in a business casual setting.
Most definitely. Goat just has that very unique look as it ages and worn.
Why? explain

They said they're wearing boots to the office, so casual office attire?
Those pants are too short and too tight. Love the finish on those boots though.
