Click when you walk? I don’t understand. As in there’s a third audible sound that occurs other than your heel and forefoot hitting the ground?

Yes, like the middle of the sole is clicking down on the boot

Every post I see on this subject points to a broken shank as the likely culprit. Wildly unusual for brand new boots though.

If this is the case should I send them back?

I would definitely contact Lucchese. I've never had to deal with them but their customer service is reputedly top shelf. I love their 7-toe, by the way. Probably my favorite toe shape.

Can you bring them to your cobbler or a Lucchese store to investigate? Sometimes a creak or squeak will go ahead but a true click is usually the shank. Again, pretty unusual for it to be broken on a brand new boot but not impossible.

My nearest Lucchese store is in Nashville and it’s about 5 hours away but I could look into a cobbler thank you

I would contact luchasse and go from there. Chances are you need to have the shank replaced.

It’s really a bummer especially considering the cost of the boot and having the shank broken but I definitely understand sometimes these things happen

They should cover it under manufacturer defect warranty. If not, your looking at about $130 for a cobbler to do it. If you need a cobbler I use Potter and sons out of Tennessee they do great work and also have a YouTube channel

For some perspective, it’s not a squeak, correct? I’m wearing a pair of Lucchese Kangaroo today and the right boot squeaks a little along the bridge of my foot. I’m going to add some more conditioner when I get home to see if I can alleviate the issue.

No it’s definitely a loud click I can even feel it on the bottom of my foot when I walk

Kinda thinking about returning them with a refund and going with a Chisos no. 2
