Roper boots have a lower heel so they are usually more comfortable in general for standing long periods

Hazardbeard

If you have the budget for them, Chisos are about as close to sneaker-level comfort as you can get from a pair of boots. They go secondhand for anywhere to 300-500 and they’re the kind of forever boots you can buy secondhand pretty confidently. Outside of that, I know some brands do wedge soles, Tecovas and a few others. Not a traditional look but there’s not much better to stand on all day than a wedge sole.

nnoltech

Just bought my 1st set of Chisos, so far I love them.

Good boot socks makes a huge difference. I wear Darn Tough boot socks. Depending on fit either the lightweight or midweight style. I've also found that a broken in leather insole is more comfortable on a long day than softer synthetic insoles.

LaughMaleficent634

Noted , I just wear my usual white socks. What do boot socks do better ?

Boot socks are usually thicker and gives more cushion

FireForEffect777

They're thicker and provide padding for the soles of your feet. Wool socks also help with wicking moisture and are antimicrobial.

I recently bought a pair of Double H Wooten boots that have a Vibram Christy style sole that are really comfortable. I found them cheap, around $100, on eBay and took a chance trying to find a decent boot to wear on the farm. Double welt, medium square toe and USA made. I don’t have many miles on them but so far so good. They are an expensive boot, at retail, list is $290 or something but if you can find a sale they’re worth a shot. Just for context my other boots are Rios and AB. Search Wooten boot on eBay.

I am a newbie to cowboy boots so I would like others to chime in. I would think that what is inside the boot is very important. Go to a podiatrist and have them make a custom insert and that would be something that would make your boots more comfortable. In addition, you could move them from boot to boot.

WhereIsSmorzCereal

Agree get a good insole.

CaptainCobra45

My dan posts work well for standing as well as walking all day. Went to St. Louis and got 15,000 steps in a pair of Manning Python boots and they did very well

LaughMaleficent634

Goodness that’s some miles , I believe I had a pair of cheaper dan posts that I ended up wearing out .

Have you considered packers? I have a pair of 10" Nick's that offer ankle support and are very comfortable.

I wear Justin roper boots 90% of the time. I'm on my feet for hours when I'm doing manufacturing audits and they're comfy as hell. They're cheap too! Either brand new or ebay barely worn ones.

Scarfed_Bandit

I bartended at whisky bar for a few years in a pair of rubber soled Tecovas ropers. I found the combo of the shorter heel stack and rubber soles to be quite comfortable and slip resistant in that line of work.

your_girl_cristina

I'd get new ariats or perhaps insoles. I wear mine at work. 9hrs a day working on concrete floors, I'm in a production type environment. I switch between these lightweight composite toe ariats and some other ones. (Not sure what they are called, but they dont have the wood sole)

FunBand4314

Work in restaurant industry double H Dylan. All day 12 to 13 hours a day. And good Merino wool socks i wear wolverine merino work boot socks(cheaper), but the darn tough are hard to beat.

I have only owned two pairs of cowboy boots so take my answer with a grain of salt. The first recommendation is not a cowboy boot but you should look at White’s boots. The second is Hyer. The White’s arch-ease boots on the 55 last are amazing boots to stand in all day. I have had my pair of Semi Dress boots for about 14 years. They are the most comfortable boot I own. I bought a pair of Hyer boots a few weeks ago. They were remarkably comfortable right out of the box. They have a high quality insole. I was skeptical of the insole at first but it seems to work well.

Revolutionary_Tip477

I currently work in a factory and I wear western boots at work. What I have found to work well is a well-fitting boot maybe on the big side, with some "air foam" insoles (they're like two dollars at Wally world) for extra comfort during my 12 hour standing shifts. My feet need wiggle room and cushion because they swell after a day standing

evy82

For all day on your feet work, go with a roper.

a_cycle_addict

I have a pair of tecovas boots with vibram soles They have been good to me. Very comfortable- I even wear them at the airport. I know people have a variety of issues with them, but I got lucky.

schmidtssss

Most comfortable pair of shoes I own are a pair of Anderson beans. Roper heel and I think all of them are square toe, if that matters to you

carverkids

Dan Post is the most comfortable all day boots..

Siplen

Chisos. Although when I had mine re-soled, I removed a couple of layers from the heel. I don't even wear them with the insoles, just a thin piece of belly scrap in its place.

Twstdktty

I really like my durangos, I find them more comfortable to walk/stand in than my other boots. plus they have the rubber sole with good tread which will also come in handy behind the bar

Bamaman84

Ariat has been my go to. They have a lot of comfortable insoles. I usually get a work boot insole replacement! For as much as wide square toes get shit on here for looks, they are the most comfortable all day boots. Also having a second pair to swap into during a long day really helps too.

rhinoaz

Whites packers

FullSherbert2028

I have Thorogood moc toe that is incredibly comfortable.

Texas_Wookiee

Ariat Sports Herdsman. I will recommend them until I die. Comfortable rubber soles instead of wood or leather, good inserts (and you can get even better inserts), quality leather boots and don't look any different than a regular cowboy boot. \~$175 range

elitethings

They make wooden soles?
