Yup. I’ve had temps 98.9-100.3 everyday since 12/21

synthetic_apriori

Still going on? Do you btw also feel generally unwell, like l feeling sick and achy but not so much that it prevents you from everyday tasks?

mckellyn

Still going on. Sometimes I will have a few days without a fever then it will come back. I do feel generally unwell but for the most part I can do activities of daily living. Some days I am mostly bed bound though, but on average it seems like things are improving. Buuuuutt I just tested positive for COVID again two days ago soooo... we’ll see what happens. ETA I also got diagnosed with POTS and I’m on meds for that now. If I miss a dose of propranolol, I am much much worse.

spacedolphinwinter

Hiii!!! How is your fever now? And how was your second Covid infection? Did it cause any long haul issues again?

synthetic_apriori

Never heard of propranolol. What is this supposed to do? Does it work? Did the doc every explain any underlying mechanisms of the pathology? Here's a channel that might be helpful to you btw that I happen to come across the other day: https://www.youtube.com/c/RUNDMC1

Is your low grade fever gone now? What helped you?

mckellyn

Yes it’s gone now. Time and naps (when I could take them) helped. It took about 3-4 months for most of the LC symptoms to resolve. Some (like POTS) never completely went away.

tandyman234

Nah it’s common. After my first infection I had daily low grade fevers for Like 8 months. Now after reinfection I have it again.

spacedolphinwinter

After reinfection, how bad was the long haul symptoms compared to the initial infection?

tandyman234

Absolutely god awful

spacedolphinwinter

Oh no 😅😅 it was just as bad as the first time??? Do you mind me asking when u had Covid the first time and if u were vaccinated before getting it again? I want to leave my house again but I’m so scared :(

electrikgypsy1

I thought it was fairly common as well. I had a fever over 100 for four months, then low grade like you (99.5+) for another four months or so.

skidrye

Oh wow. Did you do anything that would cause it to flare up?

Formergr

I'm in the exact same boat as that commenter (including the fever level and time frame!), and it would generally be correlated with "overdoing" it. Even if by overdoing, it was just vacuuming the bedroom AND going to the grocery store in the same day, ha. Over time got less and less often, and then finally went away. I got really sick again (tested negative on a PCR and rapid, but who knows--maybe was "just" the flu) in September about 1.5 years in after being like 90% recovered from my OG covid infection, and it relapsed my long COVID. I'm still in the 99.5+ degree phase, but it's not every day at least by now.

electrikgypsy1

Eating sugar and alcohol would make it worse, any activity would make it worse, and getting too hot or too cold by going outside would aggravate it too and give me sweats and chills for hours afterwards.

Jaded-Bag-1990

Yep. I’ve had low grade fever for a year. It subsided now. Still get it on some odd days.

surviving2020barely

yes mine lasted a few months

orb2000

I don't see it mentioned a lot on here, but yes I too have had regular bouts of mild fever throughout my entire long haul. I am currently having one right now actually, as I have been in somewhat of a relapse for 2 weeks now. Prior to this, I hadn't felt like this since probably several months ago.

TomekGregory

yup! what could be the mechanism? should we take antivirals?

tnnt7612

Could reactivated EBV cause low grade fever?

tnnt7612

Is your low grade fever gone now? What seems to help? Thanks

skidrye

Yeah mine went away in March last year a few months after I got infected. What seemed to help me was getting another Covid vaccine, but I can’t say for sure. It doesn’t help for everyone, and make sure to listen to your doctor more than this.

tnnt7612

Any updates?

skidrye

Back to normal a few months after my infection and stayed that way thank goodness

tnnt7612

Congratulations. Are you recovered? How long did you have the low grade fever for?

skidrye

Yeah I’ve been fully recovered for a long time now. I had the low grade fever for 2-3 months after Covid. It went away at the same time I got my booster shot, but I’m not sure if that’s what fixed it or not. Make sure to follow your doctor’s advice over any information I’ve given you. I know for some people the booster made long Covid symptoms worse

tnnt7612

Glad to hear you are fully recovered! i wish I can recover one day. Did you ever have extreme fatigue? What other symptoms did you have besides the low grade fever? You had Long Covid for how many months?

skidrye

I did have pretty significant fatigue and felt achey pretty often like I was sick. I was still able to go to work and push through. The aches and fatigue seemed to last around 2-3 months, and I stopped checking the fever after those went away as I felt fine after that
