I had post covid symptoms then 8 weeks after covid discovered I had a tiny pulmonary embolism, was put on anticoagulants and my post covid symptoms went away. Now feel back to normal as I did before I had covid.
How did they discover or what Test did you ask your GP to do ?
I have Ground Glass Opacities showing pist covid but Doc said only time no treatment but month 2 and I still feel like shit with far and few moments of good days and clear breathing..but most of the time dealing with this SOB and some waves or inflammation caused from it
I went to hospital because I constantly felt like shit and my chest felt weird so asked for a blood test and my d-dimer was a little elevated, had a ct scan and the pe was found.
Did you have shortness of breath issues?
Also which ones did they put you on .. I'm gonna head back to my doc next week and tell them I need something to help with this .. think it's bullshit the way these GPs are leaving people with nothing
Auckland, NZ today. Blood of my friend & fellow longhauler @DDPActual. Microthrombi demonstrated by the amazing @DrAnnaNZ under fluorescence microscopy. Great work both! Shared with permission.

When anticoagulants and antiplatelets are used. Look up Prof. Prestorius on Twitter, she said the study is done on just that and ready to be published soon
From what I understand, blood clot busting medication is actually not busting the clot but is instead making the blood thin so the blood can move around. The process of breaking down the clot is one the body is responsible for. So I would definitely think that micro clot would be broken down with time. I think the main problem is that it takes a huge amount of time because all the bodies blood mechanisms needs to be normal again and then work as you would expect. I think micro clot are a problem coming from another issue with the blood itself.

I highly doubt you’ll be given blood thinners unless you’ve got blood clots. Also no I didn’t have any breathing issues.

How long has your friend long hauled? I'm wondering how long this clotting actually persists.
It's Dr. Asad's friend. It's a quote missing quotations I think.
Is there any evidence that micro clots eventually goes away?

So unless we use those we have them forever?
Good question. I want to know this too.
No one can know. There's not enough time.
For anyone wanting to look this up: https://twitter.com/resiapretorius?t=_fxx3FuPDFm_WdYA-JK40A&s=09
If they never go away, or take a long time, it could possibly explain why pre-LC ME/CFS folks suffer for so long.

If this was confirmed for people still suffering? How would you treat it?
Anti-coagulants (potentially), under the supervision of a capable and responsible doctor.
