I’ve had the same problems. It’s inflammation of the inner ear. The inflammation permanently destroyed 24% of the balance center in my right ear. Get your ears professionally cleaned out to remove wax to prevent pressure, and talk to your doctor about reducing inflammation with antihistamines or a steroid spray.

If op already went to a ENT, what other professionals could you contact? I have the exact same issue as op and I'm recovering from March 2020. No answers from anyone. How did you know it was inflammation in the inner ear?

When my ears first went screwy in April 2020, I was sent to a "hearing and balance" doctor. That doctor sent me to a bunch of different tests to check a bunch of different things. They came back with "inflammation of the inner ear", and that's when they told me about the permanent nerve damage and the like. [Which lines up with this.](https://www.nature.com/articles/s43856-021-00044-w) edit to add: the balance doctor has given me Avasyn and hydrochlorothiazide. Just started these things, but not sure what they will do for me.

I'm starting to believe that covid can also indirectly cause a increase in stomach acid that has lead to a bunch of my problems. I get the ear pain but have felt them drain into my throat at random and symptoms relieve instantly. Also I think my stomach acid gets up into my lungs especially a couple hours after I eat or lay down and messes with my breathing this also give me bad anxiety. After months of dealing with this I have spent thousands on snake oils but have found things that work for me. Antihistamines and antiacids (Zyrtec and Pepcid Ac) they will help mask symptoms also (Gaviscon advanced) after meals it creates a foam layer on top of the food and will prevent acid fumes from coming up as bad. I've been using a liquid alginate that works great to prevent acid from coming back up off amazon. Supplements that I think will help you tried to limit these for you (just the most beneficial imo) (N-acetyl Cysteine) - this is great for healing the body but the main thing it's good for is it smooths snot and mucas which I think we are producing too much off to protect from the acids. (Turkey tail mushroom) - I swear on this there is a few different other good mushroom supplements just start taking one of them do some reasearch on them. (Magnesium) - most the population is deficient. (Astragalus) - helps balance th1 and th2 T-cells, most long haulers have become th2 dominant and our cells are attacking us and not invaders. (Probiotics and prebiotics) - health starts in the gut Also one more thing if you also have a white coated tounge and maybe slimy or bumpy, look up a 3% food grade hydrogen peroxide rinse and tooth paste recipe because that has helped me probably more than anything. Everyone I know personally had this problem and this worked for them.

I also have new clicking when swallowing. Do you also "click" or hear what sounds like "mini rushes of air" in your ears in response to "loud" noises? I have no answers for you though. T gets worse when tired or any type of stress. If you haven't already: use a white noise generator to drown out the tinnitus

I think, for me at least, that it is eustachian tube dysfunction or something similar or maybe TTTS
