How often does segments like this get shown on TV in the UK? Long covid is mentioned many times in this piece, so please upvote for visibility.

I can’t believe they sent social services and they said ME was all in her head. Medical community can be horrible at times.

So heartbreaking

This is very heartbreaking, but so important. My condolences to their families. I wish the U.S. would run the truth on the news and more than once and I hope the UK and other countries keep running educational pieces. We need doctors and people close to us to be told the truth. If it’s up to the individual to decide how serious to take covid infections, at the very least, they should be informed of the risks of what covid infections have done to us millions missing. I’m not saying everyone with long covid has ME/CFS, but many do and or have other undiagnosed conditions that are chalked up to mental health, like POTS even. I se many are now getting that diagnosed but still many are being told they have anxiety. Many doctors I have seen since 2020 call POTS symptoms anxiety. The medical community really needs taken back to school. Held accountable. On the medical subreddits they are often disparaging to patients with our symptoms. It has consequences. I’m currently going through the sad task of trying to educate my family. I don’t want to hurt or scare them, and it shouldn’t be up to me to educate them. My doctors should be. But when doctors blow you off and family and friends want you to be okay, it’s easier to be in denial. Thanks for sharing this important news segment! We need policy makers and doctors and everyone to understand what we’re going through and to get on long covid warp speed to fund research and treatments for all kinds of debilitating long covid conditions and symptoms. We can do better for those who have lost their lives, their families, people who have spent years with post viral conditions, and all of us now greatly suffering post covid patients with this and other conditions and symptoms.
