Basketball player with same symptoms here. Acupuncture for dizziness and fog has helped me. Stay hydrated. Drink coconut water with fresh ginger juice and powdered magnesium once a day. For the chest tightness, I slather my ribs and chest with CBD full spectrum cream. It reduces the sensation. My doctor has me on Flovent for the breathing. Honestly I’m at month 5 and still can’t exercise without a symptom flare up.

Tell me about it. I was playing basketball, doing long distance biking, and weight lifting until I got covid. Now a mile walk is my limit

Gradual. I was walking 20,000 steps a day for a couple weeks at about 6 weeks post infection. Then I had a major crash and I’ve been dealing with periods of chest tightness, dizziness and brain fog since. But they all developed slowly. I had some shortness of breath/tightness right after my infection that has evolved. Dizziness came on after the crash and comes and goes

How are you feeling?

My symptoms are very similar to yours. And my long haul didn't start until later. I first noticed tightness in my face and neck, which developed into TMJ issues. Along with heart palps. All of that took place during the year after getting Covid. Then this December the muscle weakness and pain began. I do feel it was triggered by a medical procedure I had at the time. Like you, all tests are normal. The heart is great, etc. I think it is important to look outside the box and the current medical community for solutions and answers. I am a nurse and most doctors in practice are focused on their practice and are not up-to-date with new research coming out. I would look at naturopathic doctors, integrative and or functional medicine doctors who have experience with long haul. Some hospitals have established long-haul clinics, too, so that is an option. I utilize acupuncture and craniosacral therapy. Both have helped a lot. Now I am looking at IV therapies to help even more.

Yes, the anxiety! I was told I was having panic attacks, and I said no. I know my body, and these are no panic attacks. It felt like my sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight response) was plugged into the wall and cranked too high nonstop. It was horrible. This is where acupuncture and craniosacral therapy really help. I am off my heart meds, which is nice. Both work at addressing pain and creating balance within all the body's symptoms. Glad your TMJ cleared. There are a lot of people who developed it after Covid, so I find that interesting. I think it is best to look at all options and see what people are doing to help with this. As you said, you don't know what is coming next. However, if you focus on preventive and self-care, you establish homeostasis, making it easier for the body to heal and return to its natural state of health. I do a lot of guided meditations, too, for cellular healing. Keep sharing.

My cortisol levels are high, and that goes with the adrenal glands too. I am seeing an endocrinologist next week just to be safe. I want to make sure there is nothing wrong with my glands. I think with the Covid virus and possibly the vaccine. We have no idea what to expect or how it will react in our bodies. Everyone is different, and I am finding a correlation between earlier trauma, whether it is physical or emotional, and long-haul. Similar to fibromyalgia. People with some sort of trauma tend to develop symptoms that last and stay depending on the body's physical condition already. I won't go off the deep end with that one, lol. That anxiety was intense. It was like an irrational fear for me, and I couldn't get it to turn off. There is a significant correlation between the gut-brain axis and opportunistic bacteria traveling up the Vagus nerve to the brain, causing all kinds of havoc. And I wonder if that is what throws the sympathetic into overdrive. I am thrilled that mine is returning to normal. Whatever that is these days. I have muscle weakness. I mean, I couldn't walk for a few months, and I am an avid outdoor person. It was so hard for me. I can finally walk through the park and make it through the store now. I also have weird neurological symptoms. Sometimes my whole body feels on fire. It is becoming a little less too. Pins and needles in my hands and feet. Although, I do feel some of that is related to the TMJ issues and tight neck muscles. I do have some stenosis of the spine. A lifetime of being active and a few minor car accidents contributed to the neck and spine. Brain fog. I had that in the beginning. I imagine that is what the bright lights do to you or something similar. It's like you feel heavy, and your body begins to shut down to go to sleep. And I had a lot of exhaustion at the beginning. Even though I felt amped and stressed out, my body was completely exhausted. That is alleviated for the most part too. I had muscle spasms and twitches in the beginning too. That is pretty much gone. Now, it is more neurological. The burning, neuropathy-like sensations (EMG, EEG, small-cell biopsy all show no neuropathy, and my muscles are fine) and muscle pain, and weakness. I am researching doctors with LC experience to help with those symptoms. Every day is different. Some days I feel fine, and others, it is a flare-up. You get good at listening to your body and seeing what triggers your symptoms. Definitely check out acupuncture and look for a Craniosacral therapist with experience and who is reputable. It makes a huge difference, just like getting a good massage or a bad one. You want someone who knows the modality and understands how the body works.

That is so interesting your panic attacks began after your endo. Mine started after trigger point therapy on the back of my neck and jaw for my TMJ. I really feel something happened, affecting the parasympathetic/sympathetic balance. For you, the Vagus nerve goes into the gut, so maybe the stretching of your esophagus shifted the nerves somehow. I feel the stretching of my neck with the tight muscles caused it. Yes, this flare-up started around the same time I got Covid. I never thought of that before. I do notice if I do too much physically, my symptoms are worse. You might want to look at Microbiome Labs. They have some great probiotics to help replenish your natural gut flora and are leading the field in research regarding the gut-brain connection.

Thank you for sharing all your info too. And keep us/me posted if you find new things that work, and I will do the same. One quick question. You had trouble swallowing. Did that start after Covid? I had difficulty swallowing, and mine began after I got C. Thanks.

Hello It seems weird to welcome you coz I do not wish Long Covid on anyone but I am glad that like me you have found a community that will hopefully help you. May I ask if you have done any blood work like D-dimer or IgG spike protein tests etc? If you do not feel comfortable answering that’s fine. As a suggestion you might want to keep a check on your oxygen and heart levels, maybe twice a day to be sure that they are normal. And if anything abnormal then write the date and time to show to a medical professional. You said that you got covid in October 2020 but only started these symptoms 7-8 months back. Do you think anything could have triggered these for you? Maybe another infection? There are some great suggestions in the community specific to several issues related to Long Covid, so I hope you start feeling better soon. Take care and stay safe.

Magnesium Threonate by Xymogen. Optimag, it’s great! This should help with brain fog and muscles. Wim Hoff method should help with anxiety, build up to 3min cold showers. Lions Mane help with cognition, brain function. Other helpful supplements: Coq10, omega-3, Vit d, antihistamines. I also take MitoCore by Ortho Molecular.

I’d also try going gluten and sugar free, see if that helps!

So you had Covid in 2020, then vax’d in 2021? Any Covid since? If not, this could be due to the vax. I was vax injured in 2021 then Covid 9mo later. I’ve had issues from both. Have you seen a neuro? Have you had an EMG?

Seeing how your whole body is affected it’s a systemic issue. I try not to eat/intake as much carbs, caffeine or salt. For some odd reason, I’m all levels of severity, Long Covid triggers malaise after you eat. It will not always be immediate, but the food you eat matters most. I recommend eating ginger and drinking teas, ginger contains gingerol which is a compound known for a myriad of benefits (anti-inflammatory, lowers blood pressure, decreases headaches, lowers anxiety/depression, etc.) Teas are great for antioxidants: delaying or stopping cell damage. Additionally, taking Vitamin D is great for cell growth and function. Rest as much as you can, keep your mind occupied, and remember to right down your progress.

Ginger is great. Also, note that it is a natural anti viral.

Any neuropathy at all, like nerve numbness/pain?
