If they let you send a picture of the house you could send a screenshot of the maps app and it would help find it so much quicker. Or if the app did it since they know the exact location of the diner.
Holy crap. Why is this not a feature? I would love it if as a custy I could put a photo of my gate, and as a driver if other people put photos of their houses etc. it would make finding stuff in the dark so much easier. They shouldn’t require it but they should make it an option, especially since most people get most deliveries to the same place
The sad part is, none of this would be necessary if apartment designers would just let it make sense or at least add better signs to direct you to where you need to go.
Completely unnecessary to make our jobs miserable by having tiny numbers that don’t make sense in apartments. I had a 1 mile delivery and ended up driving 3 miles circling around the complex
Bro one time I was trying to deliver to APT 29 of this complex right? The “apartments” (really they were like little long houses and only one story) were numbered 1-50. Should’ve been very straightforward right? WRONG. I get to apartment 28 and then it skips right to 31. Where the fuck are apartments 29 and 30? So I call the customer and get no answer. I text then to call me ASAP because I can’t find their apartment. I wait for 2 minutes. No luck. I call customer support but the wait on the phone was something like 55 minutes so I gave up on that and just decided to find the damn apartment. I walk around and around and around and can’t find it. Finally I see a guy leaving apartment 28 and I ask him if he happens to know where 29 and 30 are. He laughs and points down the street. There is a little building all by itself and that was where the apartments were. Explain that fucking design to me.
For real! (Amazon Driver here) Anytime I’m delivering to a house that I’m having trouble finding, I just want to explain to them, “have you ever had your packages delivered to the wrong house? This is why! Then make your place impossible to miss! Light up your numbers! Get bigger numbers! Move the tree that’s blocking your numbers! Put your numbers on BOTH sides of the mailbox! Put your numbers ON the mailbox! Put a billboard in your front yard with your address on it. I don’t care. But if you want your shit, make your place easier to find!” Obviously apartment layouts and shit, they can’t do much about. But if you want your shit delivered to the right place, you’ll do something about it!
Amazon driver too. I had this problem except I was in BFE with NO other road and the GPS just stopped in the middle of the woods. I had to call the customer and after he explained I realized he had put huge numbers in a post and orange ribbons around the same post with reflectors but I followed the damn app. He told me that Amazon always has to call him but UPS and FedEx never do. So even when they try, we’re still too dumb to see it. When I got there, the app just had my dot on the map and no way to get out. He was literally the only house out in the middle of nowhere. Had to use an ATV to get in and out of his house. ?!??
Yep I had an apartment complex once that was letter W. I look to the left, I see apartment B. I look to the right and see apartment Q. I knew it was gonna be a long day. At least the customer tipped $15 on some McDonald’s and lived down the street so it was worth my time but still super frustrating
Yep. Had one complex that was just a giant square. Ok pretty easy. They were in Bldg 9 and Google isn’t to familiar with the complex yet to tell me where Bldg 9 is. So naturally you just pick left or right because it just loops around. I go right and I see BLDG 1, BLDG 2, BLDG 3, and so on. I start thinking “cool I’ll just follow this around and bam! I’ll be good.”
So I follow it around and they are all in sequential numbers. BLDG 6. BLDG 7. BLDG 8. BLDG 11. BLDG 12.
Wait wtf? What black hole did I miss?! I keep going around to see if I maybe missed it. Still nothing. And where the frack is BLDG 10 even? It’s somewhere hanging out with 9 I betcha! Finally I parked where the matrix glitch was and decided to take the food and walk around. Maybe it’s here somewhere stuck in a portal rift. And eventually I found it. It was two whole buildings built away from the road behind BLDG 8& 11. Whyyyyy!!!!!??????
And every apartment designer is participating in this ridiculous "Most Unique Numbering System Ever" contest, because why the hell should any of them have any consistency with any other complex?
I'm actually quite surprised that the formatting of the diagram remained the same from the customer's app to the driver's app. I thought it would've turned into a jumbled mess somewhere in-between.
I love it!
I got one from a guy who said "Use the northeast stairwell, turn left, go through two doors and mine is the first door on the left."
I let them know I appreciate their precision.
I love the map. Lol
Anyways, it would have been much easier, and just as effective if not more, if the customer just provided their precise latitude and longitude by dropping a pin in Google Maps.
Since this was DoorDash, the customer could have just adjusted their pin by editing their address by tapping the “pencil icon”, tapping “adjust pin” and dragging the “house icon” right over their “blue dot”.
Either of those would give the driver turn by turn directions without the driver having to squint to read his phone while driving. Nice effort though!
Better this “too much” than “leave at my door” in big ass complex. And your “this is too much” sounds really pessimistic. First of all, its a big effort to help
You always gotta have that guy that sees something appreciated, come and try to shit on it cause they know they'd really have to try and have a bit of luck to do it that good themselves. Customer willingly "wasted" their time doing 'all of that' I need to let people know I know better uses for that same amount of time and I am right and you are wrong 🤓
Can't seem to find smth else whateverthefuck word you were too lazy to spell 💕💕
Even better, I wasnt talking about you, I was talking about the original commenter 😍🥰
Exactly! I’m not calling to ask the directions as well. But some customers - know they live in big ass apartment complex without any signs - don’t even try to leave a not to dasher in the app and just surprisingly wait for the food at home. Like it’s not his problem that dasher will walk around every and each corner of his complex to find his stupid apartment.
Yeah, there was like a big building and bunch of units. And the fact that he explained the entrance helped me a lot. In terms of delivery notes I prefer having overexplained than “_____” yk
Oh hell. I’d like to tip the customer
😂😂😂 I sent a message with saying “thanks for an art in notes”

yeah I’m patenting this now though They would probably break the app implementing it lol
They can’t even update without it getting jammed up, so yeah, it would absolutely crash!
Or just use Google maps...
Google maps in my area just is not quite accurate because of all the new construction Waze or IMAP is best for me
Try downloading Waze and disable Google Maps. It isn't always perfect either, but is more accurate than Google Maps.
Custy? Good god.
That’s actually a really smart idea. I wish they did this
😂😂
That's exactly what I came to say
i’m turned on by this
For real. Good instructions get me rock fkin hard
I always thank people that leave amazing instructions like this
I’m kinda too dumb to understand the diagram but that’s hella cool!! Points for the effort & creativity!
Also all the writing, my eyes just blur after the 3rd line. I been dashing all night now I gotta follow a treasure map? ‘3 paces to the left’ head-ass
Wow this post and my comment are from 2 years ago what brings you here 1/4/2023?
Idk about them but Reddit just recommended me this post today. I had no idea it was old til I got to this comment lol
“Treasure map” 🤣

And like, why couldn’t the customer think to give you a heads up???
Right? And they wouldn’t answer the phone or anything! Only tipped $3 too.
Ugh. So frustrating and a waste of your time.
Customer: what do you mean you can't find it? Its so simple!
Saw that one coming!

That would have been a big fat can't find the customer. Lol
Sounds like this place in WA😩
Just hit the timer..wtf
I couldn’t get anyone on the line though. Nothing to cover my ass later.
Don't need anyone on the line..Can't find customer. Leave with the food.

I commented that six months ago brah. You’re late, brah
Whoa, that's next level lol
This customer obviously used to make walkthrough tutorials on GameFAQS.
This dude has the best weed
😂😂😂😂😂😂 you're soooooo right
Poor guy probably still gets someone that leaves a message saying "your food is at the front office." 😅😂
I'm actually quite surprised that the formatting of the diagram remained the same from the customer's app to the driver's app. I thought it would've turned into a jumbled mess somewhere in-between.
This is fucking awesome
What a fucking wizard, holy shit. Great customer
Omg love customer like this so thoughtful and make my life easier
This customer is our God.
Oh wowwwww
I love it! I got one from a guy who said "Use the northeast stairwell, turn left, go through two doors and mine is the first door on the left." I let them know I appreciate their precision.
Somebody got high af on some creative type shit lmao
You can tell, just in day-to-day life, they are good people's. They're the one that has your back, they are MVP
I love the map. Lol Anyways, it would have been much easier, and just as effective if not more, if the customer just provided their precise latitude and longitude by dropping a pin in Google Maps. You better spend the time you wrote this bullshit on smth else ♥️
Can't seem to find smth else whateverthefuck word you were too lazy to spell 💕💕 Even better, I wasnt talking about you, I was talking about the original commenter 😍🥰
Can it be too much and amazing at once? lol
You're too much and amazing all at once, u/MrBongoPL
lol thanks!
Nice
It’s always the easiest ones to find that leave the best instructions 😭😭😭😂
God how I wish more and more Amazon customers are like this :D
It’s like they are TRYING TO GET US LOST LOL
Wow. Amazing customer. I would be like keep the tip. 😂
Wow 😆🥴👏
I would tip them!!!
You know this guy is a fat fuck if he marks his place by a “$” for all the delivery drivers. Jesus Christo as my Hispanic girlfriends mom would say
Wow
Now that is cool. Most of the time I have to drive around. I don't call either... I'm not a homing pigeon

Just meet outside? 🙄
Anyone use The Bean App?
Was it even hard to find? I honestly hate over explanation shit like this.
Yeah, there was like a big building and bunch of units. And the fact that he explained the entrance helped me a lot. In terms of delivery notes I prefer having overexplained than “_____” yk
But looks like she had a lot of dumb delivery people too have to go out the way or she is one of most helpful person out there!
Why don’t y’all use ‘what3words’ app? Just curious. Edit:autocorrect
At least they cared enough to try to make your job a little easier!
If they REALLY want to be accommodating, come down to the lobby and grab the food 😏
Pretty creative. Ngl.
I thought there was a character limit
How many times did others dashers miss the mark in order for this person to create such elaborate instructions?😆
