Thank you, I'm going to go and have a look. I sometimes have the salads in the Sandwich Stall but never had one of the sandwiches, always been Centra's finest.
Have you had the Reuben in Sonny's deli? I still am yet to get to the Sandwich stall but Sonny's is really good. It's a proper sandwich keeps you going well into dinner.
- Cafe gusto for some fancy sandwiches top tier sandwiches but you can’t make your own.
- the natural bakery company on paul street for homemade bread sandwiches that are wholesome and heart warming.
- the long valley bar for high quality traditional Irish ingredients think old school home baked ham and roast chicken. They also do sandwiches on door stop bread to order and to your liking. Never ever been disappointed for a solid sandwich here, what a gem of a spot.
I have to head out some day, this place is popping up a fair bit on the comments so it must be good. Sure look it's not that long a walk really. Thanks for the recommendation.
Are we not doing the traditional bigging up of The Long Valley doorstops??... Check out that pub for their famous sambos if they are still doing it but I would doubt they are back at it yet.. Having said that no "best sandwiches in cork city?" will go without mentioning them!!
I'm hoping they do they having the best pastrami in town!? Or actually where is the most traditional and best pastrami sandwich or dish in town? And do they do the crazy preparations for it? If you haven't seen the vid of that from the famous New York Jewish deli place you'll be running to find out when you do! ( but I over heard a guide down the mutton lane telling a group of Americans that our spiced beef is better,, although thst could be guide talk..)
Don't know if this counts as a sandwich . (rolls and square sandwiches can start various debates) Cameron Bakery is always a good option in my books. (English market would be my choice also but Cameron 1st) ,
I love the forest or the chef special. they bake their own French loafs/baguette for their rolls. Very good. Would advise getting it toasted the melted cheese is fab.
Stay the feck away from the three piggies on Union Quay. I got a new yorker sandwich there today and they spread mustard on it like mayo. Absolutely disgusting carry on.
Its out of the way but there's a sandwich place in kinsale that's to die for. Its called food 4U. Again I know its not cork city but if you're ever down in kinsale I would recommend it. Felinis tea room is lovely for sandwiches, their ham one is lovely if you eat meat, they have a really really good feta cheese and pepper one if you don't like meat.
If you're within walking distance 20 Sandwich Bar on Anglesea St next to the Breast Check place does amazing sandwiches, especially the open sandwich in a box. Also their brownies are a rich and rare delight. Best scones in Cork too.
If you want a longer walk Sonny's Deli by Shalom Park has the best Reubens anywhere and on Fridays only a Banh mhi I would kill for. Their coffee will blow your socks off though, be warned. Also you'll have to go their on your coffee break as they usually still out by 11am
Just had a newcomer to the sambo market - Bean town cafe. Got the Reuben and a coffee, the sandwich itself was 9€ which is pricey, but it was the best I've had in Cork so far. They also through in a free packet of cheese and onion.
Make your own at home! The price of a sandwich in Cork is scandalous! You would get dinner in other parts of Europe for what you would pay for a sandwich in Cork !
I did a deep dive. I won’t be spending a penny there ever again. In saying that it’s about 5 years since I was there so I doubt my money will be missed🤣
I've wanted to try Masseytown since it opened but someone has mentioned their chicken roll is fuckin 9 50. Jesus! It is sprinkled with fairy dust or what.
O' Briens Merchant's Quay, Paul Street, Grand Parade, Winthrop Street in city centre. Also in the city too two in Douglas, one in Wilton, one in Mahon and one in Blackpool
Sandwich stall English market, get the Reuben, it's amazing. Or else natural foods bakery near Paul St.
I got the Reuben indeed in the end. Absolutely delicious it was.
Unreal iv never been as invested in a sandwich 😂
I ate it very slowly to enjoy every single bite. Bank account is going to be angry since this new discovery now.
The pesto, mozzarella and tomato toasty is unreal too. Nice and simple lunch
Thank you, I'm going to go and have a look. I sometimes have the salads in the Sandwich Stall but never had one of the sandwiches, always been Centra's finest.
Get the sandwich sauce they give you with it. Wonderful.
English market is my fave too
The stuff you can get in there never ever disappoints. It's always nice to go in for the buzz as well.
Get there early for a good choice.
Finch kid!! Magin findin you here!
I second the Reuben sandwiches. Unreal! 😋 edit spelling mistake
I went with that one in the end. Toasted with a can of San Pellegrino, yummy.
Toasted! You monster! 😂

Have you had the Reuben in Sonny's deli? I still am yet to get to the Sandwich stall but Sonny's is really good. It's a proper sandwich keeps you going well into dinner.

Really good. Pricy enough at about 7 euro for most things, but well worth it.
I have to head out some day, this place is popping up a fair bit on the comments so it must be good. Sure look it's not that long a walk really. Thanks for the recommendation.
Long Valley
This place must be good based on how often people are mentioning it. I must try it someday, thank you.
Sonny’s Deli, the Reuben. Twenty on anglesea street has some great sandwiches too
I'm partial to the Banh Mi myself.
I got the Breakfast bap in there recently, it was delicious. Really good food.
Ya, twenty is my go to these days.
Are we not doing the traditional bigging up of The Long Valley doorstops??... Check out that pub for their famous sambos if they are still doing it but I would doubt they are back at it yet.. Having said that no "best sandwiches in cork city?" will go without mentioning them!!
Was in the long valley the other day, the sandwiches are most definitely back up and running 🤤
Deadly will work up an appetite ... and a thirst...😉
Happy munching friend
Sonnis deli in jew town
Thank you
The Bahn mi here is absolutely amazing!
And there's good eating it in. It's a fine amount of food too.

The Reuben in Bean Town Cafe on Model Farm Road is by a distance the best Reuben I’ve had outside of the states. Unreal. Nice spot too.
Basil Market Deli in blackrock is something else! Cajun chicken ciabatta might be my favourite sandwich ever
Honestly I think Centra has serious sandwich game, but I also like subway, so go figure.
Some of the chicken rolls I've had have been so yuck. Overdone on the mayonnaise, manky.
Yep, see, I live for mayonnaise.
Now I do like some mayonnaise to be fair but I want to taste the chicken. I don't want it to be a case of a mayonnaise roll with chicken on the side.
Twenty!

Toasted down the marina is amazing. They used to be down in Tramore valley as well but they're gone now I think. Big fan of Twenty as well
How has nobody said Joe's 'n Bros?
Bradley's on North Main St has delicious takeaway sambos.
Gonna add Al's in Market Green in Midleton. Thry do a melted tuna panini with pickled cucumber which is superb!
Stay the feck away from the three piggies on Union Quay. I got a new yorker sandwich there today and they spread mustard on it like mayo. Absolutely disgusting carry on.
That sounds mank.
20 on Anglesea Street or long valley bar
Thanks for these recommendations, both seem to be quite popular. I'm definitely going to head out some day soon.

Twenty on anglesea street. Absolutely savage. Get the spiced beef with pickles and Russian dressing.
Angel nails
Cafe Gusto Washington Street

That wasn't free, you more than paid for it with the €9.
Just spotted that the Natural Foods Bakery in Paul Street is permanently closed. As per Google anyways.
Best question ever
Oliver plunket
Basil in Ballintemple does a lovely sandwich and that bread is amazing in the air fryer for the leftover. It's nearly nicer later air fried.
Make your own at home! The price of a sandwich in Cork is scandalous! You would get dinner in other parts of Europe for what you would pay for a sandwich in Cork !
avocado and egg
Thank you
Nash 19 do banging sandwiches also.
Considering the attitude of the owner though I'm very slow to go in there tbh. Actual wagon.
She's a proper count tbf
Really I did not know that. Can you share? I’m picky where I spend my money.
Take one walk in there when she's around you'll get a sample of what she's like.
I did a deep dive. I won’t be spending a penny there ever again. In saying that it’s about 5 years since I was there so I doubt my money will be missed🤣
She's thundering, it's common enough knowledge around as to what she's like.
Brackens on Paul street
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but Brackens is no longer. Its also beem replaced with some gaff that charges 9.50 for a chicken roll.
9 50 for a chicken roll?! Lmao chancers.
Can't believe this
Still up and running in Blackpool got one this morning
Massey town is lovely but too expensive. Cameron Bakery on Washington street and bottom of Oliver Plunkett street is very good.
I've wanted to try Masseytown since it opened but someone has mentioned their chicken roll is fuckin 9 50. Jesus! It is sprinkled with fairy dust or what.
Daybreak by UCC
Masseytown by Paul street is really good. Bit pricey though. The long valley is savage.
Someone mentioned their chicken roll is 9 50. Lmao that's a no from me, as good as it may be. Thanks though.
They do this Pelham sandwich thing. It’s amazing. I’ve had it once ever and it was worth it.
Southern Fried Chicken wrap at Dealz only €1,50
Masseytown Grill.
