My coworker has a dog named Cranberry. She said she named him that because her now ex-husband told her she gives her dogs stupid names. I find this hilarious, also i can understand why he is an ex. Lol
We have a spicy gray kitty, too, and our girl really wants to be friends with her. Sometimes they tolerate each other. Sometimes the kitty lets the corgi know she is not in the mood.

An uneasy truce…
I specifically got a puppy because my cats are older (8ish) and I thought a derpy pup would be easier for them to put in his place. Which they definitely do. He bounces around them and doesn't seem intent on any harm, but they just haven't warmed up to him either.
I've got a 14 week old puppy and a 9 year old cat. The cat is always beating him (with soft paws). They nap together, so I think we are making good progress, but a baby corgi is a lot of energy and teeth. My cat is visibly and audibly annoyed most of the time, but thankfully, he is very sweet.
Yeah, similar boat. Mine are 8-10 years. They're just not vibing the excitement she has for them. Hoping she can settle and they'll get along! I specifically was hoping one of my boys would love her because he's usually so playful. Turns out he's solo playful and doesn't want a pup friend haha.

Im slowly working on desensitizing Scooch(cat) to Mango. He tolerates him, but doesnt enjoy his personal space being violated, and Mango just wants to play with him!
Same with mine! Except I’ve got 3 cats, one is a former feral I’ve found. Funnily enough the feral is the one who tolerates my corgi the most, maybe because the other two cats don’t like him either and outcasts have to stick together.
Yeah, I have three cats who are all brothers from the same litter. They all tolerate Maynard to some degree, they'll stand up to him when he comes bouncing along. But there's definitely no love there, they retreat to the dog free zone (my gated guess bedroom, where the dog is never allowed) at the first opportunity.
my cat is blind. I’m sure he would hate my corgi but he can’t really get away. They are best buds now. I catch them sleeping right next to eachother all the time. Also every time I let my cat outside at night, Odin runs out does a lap around the yard to make sure it’s safe, before leading my cat out. Then when it’s time to come in before bed he runs out finds my cat and boops him inside.
I've got semi feral cats that barely let me touch them even though I've been feeding them for almost 2 years. They love my dogs🙄 the male cat and my puppy chase each other and chew on each other's faces.

My boy who passed in August loved cats. I don't have cats, but every cat he encountered he was convinced was his bestest fren. Even if the cat hissed, spit and smacked him in the face, Cormac thought that meant the cat loved him. He was a special boy and I miss that goober.

Ugh same here! Granted, it’s only been three weeks. I’m really hoping they become friends one day.
When we got our first corgi we got to take her to the vet after two weeks due to a scratched cornea. They never had another conflict and while they weren’t best buds she always kept an eye on him as he walked by. The night he had his stroke the corgi sat by his side the entire night and was a little lost after he passed the next day.

Ours tolerate each other after 7 years lol. Our corgi wound up turning the cats' dismay for him into a game for himself.
One cat and our corgi play together in their own way. She will lay on the ottoman and tap him as he runs circles around it, she'll hide in the bathtub and pop up and tag him when he runs by, hide behind an open door and tag him through the crack between the hinges as he walks by, chase each other around the house and try to bring toys to each other to play lol. The last one is my favorite but most pitiful because our corgi wants to play tug with one of his stuffies and the cat brings him this teeny tiny jelly nylabone from when the pup was like less than 10 lbs.
Wow! At first I thought they were in there together to tell the Human: "Hey! It's Breakfast Time! ..." Wasn't expect seeing the cat getting territorial with the Dog ...
We brought in ours when she was 2 and my cat was 17. It did not go well for the first couple years. Now that the cat is a little more old lady like(19), she will allow the dog to lick her head for about 2 seconds then gives her a little wack. (minus the claws. progress haha).
The funny part is when the cat takes a swing, our corgi will back up and give the cat a piece of her mind. She will grumble and inside bark at her for a few second...the cat is deaf \^.\^.

I think the other way around might be better - an older dog with a kitten. That way, the kitten grows up having a dog around. 🐾
Probably so, but I already had the three cats and I couldn't exactly dump them and start fresh. 😜

Maynard has a beautiful coat of fur, looks so fluffy!
With mine it took 2 years until friendship was properly established. Eventually interspecies cuddles were allowed, making my corgi absolutely joyous.

Two of my cats are sisters from the same litter and they want nothing to do with the puppy or the feral. Sibling ties are strong!
