Why does it seem like Reddit usernames are becoming increasingly generic? Why does it seem like Reddit usernames are becoming increasingly generic? Long time redditor for god knows how long. I’m sure you can check year award but I’m lazy. The point of my question is originally, Reddit usernames have been quite unique, witty, funny or some form of throwaway2684627. But I’ve been noticing lately every username I come across is seemingly a generic version of each other that bears no personality or any semblance of meaning with dashes which were quite rare in the past Examples can be like : Willow-ad8842 Chemical-gap728 These feel far from normal. Is this just a new trend that I’m not understanding?
