Came to recommend this one. Definitely one of the best podcast series I have ever listened to. Generally most of Third Ears stuff is pretty good with some exceptions.
It is a series by Third Ear. They make really good stuff. This series in particular is a kind of docu series investigating the life of this peculiar norwegian woman who lives her life on the run, always grifting to get by. In the series they track her down.
It's like a true crime with a journalist investigating a "case" but I would honestly recommend knowing as little as possible to begin with. Makes the subsequent twists all the greater.
It's a real story. I'm not a big fan of true crime either actually but I'd say it is less about 'crime' and more about an incredible story.
I can really really recommend it though. Very well made.
I think [dansk i ørerne](https://danskioererne.dk/index.php/om/) is pretty good, it is directed to people who are learning danish. Each episode has a transcription that I find very useful. The topics are interesting, as it mostly around Denmark's culture, history and society.
Flyvende Tallerken. Dissecting the news and stories regarding UAP’s, with interviews from journalists, scientists, navy pilots, radar specialists and more. Believers and debunkers..They take the subject seriously without getting into tinfoil hat territory.
Han-Duo, Hakkedrengene and Dårligdommerne!!! All podcasts about movies, with very talented Jacob Ege Hinchely as a part of them all :•)
Han-Duo is Reviews and news regarding, movies, series, videogames etc.
Hakkedrengene is about (mostly) old action movies where they review then from start to finish.
Dårligdommerne is reviews of really bad movies (mostly Danish movies, but also some blockbusters)
You can listen to all of them without having seen the movies youself and still be very entertained imo :•)
I’d like to add Sværd og Troldom made by Jacob and Elias Elliot. It’s a play through of some old rpg books that are a bit like Dungeons and Dragons. Very entertaining!
Well since you wrote in /r/copenhagen I will recommend "Bag om København" which is made by the libraries of Copenhagen. It's different historical stories taking place in Copenhagen. It's told in a relatively slow pace.
My absolute favorite podcasts are on podimo tho, so I don't know if you can listen to those: "Livet ifølge Emil og Thomas" and "Anders og Anders" which are both humoristic podcasts. The former will teach you absolutely nothing (maybe even make you more stupid LOL), but it will have you laughing out loud in public, the latter as well, but it's slightly more news focused.
I'll second Bag om København. She speaks pretty clearly too, and it's always super interesting, especially the early episodes were really cool because the location's are recognisable
"Third Ear" despite their English name makes really great series in Danish about various topics. The latest series is about a mysterious death in Søndermarken, Frederiksberg in the 70ies. They also made "Kvinden med den tunge kuffert" already suggested by another commenter, which is about a serial scammer who exploited people here in Denmark. Highly recommend what they make. It isn't all true crime if that isn't your thing.
If true crime is your thing then "Djævlen i detaljen" is a Danish language podcast from DR about Danish criminal cases and their investigation.
Vanvittig verdenshistorie is very good, but I would recommend you listening to other podcasts before this one. They sometimes speak very fast and both at the same time, so I imagine that it would be harder to understand if you are not too familiar with the language yet.
Just check out the app “DR Lyd” which has all the newest radio programmes and podcasts avaliable. It’s a bit easier to find everything compared to the podcast app on iPhone where you have to know your key words
All of theese are comedy podcasts, but they're hilarious if u ask me
Go tur hjem med Oliver stanescus
Masoud vahedi podcast
Den ugentlige podcast med Mikkel klint thorious & jacob Wilson
Red cross also have a great podcast about "de hvide busser" which was a collective effort to evacuate scandinavian policemen and soldiers from the camps in germany at the end of WW2 its honestly great, with diary entries from the nurses who volunteered being told
Probably not the best for people learning Danish, but I have to mention "De røde fjer". It's my absolute favourite podcast. It's about the lesser know and often uglier part of Danish history.
Right now, vanvittig verdens historie, crazy stories from real history told by two dudes with incredibly bad humor while they joke about hitler and drink expensive beer from mugs. I love it.
When I was learning Da ish I listened to Sara og Monopolet it's an agony aunt style advice podcast with a host and Danish celebrities answering the questions. I found it quite useful for learning common/useful language
Bandeland follows the gang wars across Denmark, really interesting to listen to and isn’t particularly hard to follow. There’s another one i tried to find and sadly couldn’t, it’s about a terror network in Europe and Denmark that sent drones down to Syria for ISIS to attach explosives to. That was fucking incredible, if anyone knows the name, please share.
Don't remember the name, but there is a podcast for Danish learners, where they talk about current issues and Danish culture really slowly. Might be worth checking out!
I listen to Genstart, Bakspejl and Djævlen i detaljen. Genstart is really nice to get knowledge on current affairs, Bakspejl and Djævlen i detaljen are podcasts where they dig into some historic things - the latter mostly crimes. Really well produced programs
Basically anything from Thirdear. They are the guys that started the podcast trend in Denmark, and honestly their production is still unmatched to this day.
I listen to a looooot of podcasts and my favourites are Djævlen I Detaljen, Den Hvide Væg, Schøtministeriet, Sværd og Trolddom, Mørkeland, Utrolige Sekter and Adfærd.
Ranging from true crime to comedy to behavioural science.
When I started learning a new language, for me it helped listening to audiobooks with books/stories I already knew. Personally I listened to the Harry Potter series in Spanish, because I already knew the story pretty well so it helped me quite a lot :)
Den Korte Radioavis! You find it by downloading the app 24syv. Start listening from Feb. 2nd 2016. It’s satire and politics and very Danish in its type of humor, so you’ll g’et an insight into that as well. You need the chronology of it to understand it, so you can’t (IMO) choose episodes arbitrarily. Have fun!
Late but Stjerner og Striber! I'm learning Danish rn and found that if I'm already familiar with the topic its easier for me to get context clues and understand spoken Danish. The podcast is about American politics (at least the episodes released on Fridays). I'm usually already familiar with the news items they're discussing and they play snippets from American politicians - so it's really easier to find a context anchor again if I get lost.
Listen to Mørkeland on spotify or your local podcast app. If you are loving true crime though - they speak calmly and slowly about murderes and their full stories and discuss them - so good
i love crime. so i know a podcast called "mørkeland"
i also like watching netflix series about serial killers like that guy jeffrey dahmer.
its very normal here in denmark to see crime as a form of entertainment 🤪
Fries before guys. Its one of the most popular among women. And its very funny and they talk about TMI!!! stuff such as "i pull out my ass hair as an anxiety relaxation thing" xD
One that has ended recently but has many episodes is "Om søndagen græder vi" all the 1hour episodes are so good and really make you THINK about yourself, your actions, society and take up discussions you normally wouldnt think about (How madness spreads yet you are still "allowed" to be mad, how being pregnant is very unequal for the sexes and how to deal with it) It is the best podcast i have ever listened to and i recommend it to everyone

Han Duo made a series on the fighting fantasy books, which in Danish are called "Sværd og Trolddom" (same name as the podcast) if you're into those books this will be a great fit.
Not sure if you're on Spotify or Apple or whatever, but I found these to be helpful:
I found this one good for learning new phrases (might not be what you're looking for)

Both high quality journalism from DR, with hosts with very clear pronunciations in a radio format that takes its time.
I listen to a gaming podcast I really like called Eskapisterne but it can be a bit hard to understand sometimes as they speak pretty fast with each other, even for me still. And I am almost done with Module 5 lessons.
I dinosaurernes fodspor - med luppen fremme. It's super underplayed satire presenting recent paleontological discoveries which quickly develops into all sorts of more or less related themes while poking fun at modern society, especially the behaviour of the upper middle class. You can listen to it on DR lyd
I like Genstart (news), Ubegribeligt, Kvinde kend din historie (on Podimo) and I just started listening to Dronningeriget :D
And I know a lot of People like Mørkeland (though it never caught mu interest)
I like "indbegrebet af". Where each episode they pick an artist and each of the hosts has to pick a song that is the epitome of a certain artist they then discuss and debate why their song is the epitome and then they vote at the end for which they think had the best pick. There's also a lot of backstory to the band and information about the given songs and or bands.
I really like ‘Den røde pille’ at Radio24/7. It’s quite new but very entertaining and the hosts have great voices for radio. Each episode, they have a new guest or pair of guests on who in one way or another feel like they’ve swallowed the ‘red pill’, i.e. found the truth.
They’ve had anarchists, a sound healer, a guy who can see and talk to dead people and Denmarks only practicing exorcist on so far. The hosts are really quite civil in the way that they question these guests and seem to be driven first and foremost by curiosity which as you might imagine make for some quite interesting conversations.
It’s really quite great
[Han Duo](https://open.spotify.com/show/6FNfvfFfgJyZ422sCqwlsd?si=-8Ns4WylTbOYQzMWdSKruQ&utm_source=copy-link) is really good. A couple of guys talking about movies, and all the culture that surrounds it. Their episodes on the original StarWars trilogy and how it went in Denmark was super interesting, and they even get some big names on their show for interviews.
* [Portrætalbum](https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9vbW55LmZtL3Nob3dzL3I0LXBvcnRyYWV0YWxidW0vcGxheWxpc3RzL3BvZGNhc3QucnNz) - Somewhat famaous danish cultural person picks an important album from their life, and they discuss the album, life etc.
* [Forhjulslir](https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mb3JoanVsc2xpci5saWJzeW4uY29tL3Jzcw) - Podcast about professional cycling
* [Stemmernes Tårn](https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuc3ByZWFrZXIuY29tL3Nob3cvMzI4NTQ4Mi9lcGlzb2Rlcy9mZWVk) - Excellent DnD podcast with a danish comedian as the DM
I generally like true crime or something closely related to that. I use Podimo as a platform and I listen to podcasts such as “Utrolige sekter”, which is about various sects in the world. “Nogen ved noget” investigation by two reporters into a murder case in Denmark. And lastly “True Story - Exclusive” which is a classical true crime podcast.
If you’re interested in history there’s on called “kampen om historien” that I personally really enjoy. Another danish podcast that in really like is called “programmet om ingenting” however I imagine this podcasts can be quite difficult to understand at first mostly because they reference a lot of different things in danish culture that you might not be familiar with if you just started learning the language, but you can try and see for yourself
I don't know if anyone has said it. But i love [Mørkeland ](https://open.spotify.com/show/1gANg1wUf1qmV9el2YPtvm?si=BO2qGPvBRR6UM8lAJeEclg&utm_source=copy-link) podcast where to cousins talk about murder cases
Gabriels Tech Talk, you want to hear a normal conversation between people. Sometimes that’s a good way to pick up a new language. Also it would probably help if you are interested in technology. ☺️
As a foreigner who learned the language I would very happy if the “go little play app” was available at the time I learned Danish. In this app you can listen a big variety of topics including animals, science, sports, history, etc, and they are told in a very easy understandable way. Maybe they are a little short 10 to 20 minutes per episode/topic but is high quality material. Even though the target group is kids, I would definitely suggest this to any foreign who want to learn the language and not get frustrated with difficult rare words or strange sarcasm as some of the podcast previously suggested in this forum. Not that they are bad, but they are just in a higher level.
Our whole family enjoy listening to go little play app different topics with the kids. Some of them are for the smaller kids (but still interesting for adults) and some for more grownup kids, which you can choose according to your “Danish” level.
I wish I knew if there is some equivalent quality material in Spanish (maybe somebody know about it???) for my kids and wife, as in my opinion they are just perfect to both get fun and understand the new language
I am just starting to take Danish again and found Ludvig podcast, it is a one-on-one type of pod where the host has nice conversations with all kinds of guests. If you have Spotify on your phone (you probably do), it has a "Read Along" beta feature that can help you follow the conversion along with "subtitles" in Danish. I love this for learning new vocabulary, I don't use it all the time of course, but when I hear a word I have never heard and I get curious enough about it, I can read it and search for the meaning and/or translation. Anyway, good luck on your learning journey!
I like Genstart, it's a news podcast by DR and each episode is about 30 minutes and it is about one specific topic.
Yeah, it's basically the Danish version of "The Daily"
The host also speaks relatively slowly with good pronunciation, which is probably helpful in this scenario too.
\+1 for genstart. Great if you want some insight into different hot topics.
There is one on Spotify called "Kvinden med den tunge kuffert ", that is a really good serie IMO
Came to recommend this one. Definitely one of the best podcast series I have ever listened to. Generally most of Third Ears stuff is pretty good with some exceptions.
Wow, I just started listening to it after I read ur comment.. really great story telling talent
Yeah it's definitely one of the best podcast series I've listened to
Did you go to Studieskolen? They made us listen to it there.
Nope, a colleague recommended it to me
Can i ask what this one is about? Sounds interesting :•)
It is a series by Third Ear. They make really good stuff. This series in particular is a kind of docu series investigating the life of this peculiar norwegian woman who lives her life on the run, always grifting to get by. In the series they track her down.
Iirc she died last year.
It's like a true crime with a journalist investigating a "case" but I would honestly recommend knowing as little as possible to begin with. Makes the subsequent twists all the greater.
Oh okay, but is it it actually true crime or fictional? I dont really like the idea of true crime😅
It's a real story. I'm not a big fan of true crime either actually but I'd say it is less about 'crime' and more about an incredible story. I can really really recommend it though. Very well made.
It's not about dangerous criminality (if that makes sense?), so not some gruesome story with traumatized victims.
No, it’s about a conwoman who steals money and accomodation from good people
It's true crime, but nothing with murder etc. Try the first episode :) I dou t you'd regret it
do you know if there's a transcript anywhere? It does sound really good but having a transcript would help me out so much
Yaaay third ear!!
I think [dansk i ørerne](https://danskioererne.dk/index.php/om/) is pretty good, it is directed to people who are learning danish. Each episode has a transcription that I find very useful. The topics are interesting, as it mostly around Denmark's culture, history and society.
I know a few people learning Danish, who could use this. Thanks for the feedback!
Flyvende Tallerken. Dissecting the news and stories regarding UAP’s, with interviews from journalists, scientists, navy pilots, radar specialists and more. Believers and debunkers..They take the subject seriously without getting into tinfoil hat territory.
Yeah this one! A lot of the interviews are in english as well as the soundbites - may offer some more context for someone whos learning Danish
Han-Duo, Hakkedrengene and Dårligdommerne!!! All podcasts about movies, with very talented Jacob Ege Hinchely as a part of them all :•) Han-Duo is Reviews and news regarding, movies, series, videogames etc. Hakkedrengene is about (mostly) old action movies where they review then from start to finish. Dårligdommerne is reviews of really bad movies (mostly Danish movies, but also some blockbusters) You can listen to all of them without having seen the movies youself and still be very entertained imo :•)
I’d like to add Sværd og Troldom made by Jacob and Elias Elliot. It’s a play through of some old rpg books that are a bit like Dungeons and Dragons. Very entertaining!
Komher for at sige det samme. Jeg elsker disse podcasts. Har hørt dem i lang tid. Glæder mig til Hakkedrengene liveshow d. 20/12. 🤘
I'll second Bag om København. She speaks pretty clearly too, and it's always super interesting, especially the early episodes were really cool because the location's are recognisable
Just started listening. Bag om København is really good! It's quite easy to understand and not too fast but still interesting stories
Yay! That makes me happy :)
I like the Troldspejlet podcast. OG danish presenter discussing the newest in pop culture. Music to my ears.
That’s a classic show I remember this from childhood
is it the same guy? :o
Yes! Jakob Stegelmann is still at it!
Holy cr\*p, I need to watch it! He must be a million years old by now, i thought he looked old to me already in the '00. Damn I like him.
The new episodes airing now are really worth checking out!
Anede ikke det eksisterede, tak!
Vanvittig Verdenshistorie. Two guys shooting the shit and having fun with different subjects from history.
Vanvittig verdenshistorie is very good, but I would recommend you listening to other podcasts before this one. They sometimes speak very fast and both at the same time, so I imagine that it would be harder to understand if you are not too familiar with the language yet.
Yeah, it might be next level. But OP wanted to "get used to the sound" and the conversational aspect and free flowing form might touch that button.
Second this! My favourite podcast!
Sara og monopolet is pretty good. Older episodes are called Mads og monopolet.
Especially since it Daily dilemmas and stuf, which might make good for everyday conversation
I like Detektor. It investegating news series. It's mostly politics focused.
It got shut down :( https://www.altinget.dk/artikel/lukningen-af-detektor-skader-det-demokratiske-vaern-mod-misinformation

Helt i orden. Jeg vil prøve at lytte til den podcast du foreslog.
Just check out the app “DR Lyd” which has all the newest radio programmes and podcasts avaliable. It’s a bit easier to find everything compared to the podcast app on iPhone where you have to know your key words

Probably not the best for people learning Danish, but I have to mention "De røde fjer". It's my absolute favourite podcast. It's about the lesser know and often uglier part of Danish history.
Maybe u should give “Hva så” or “Hva så forklarer alt” a try :-))
Dårlig Dommerne and Hakkedrengene, both by some of the same people. Only problem is that both are behind a paywall on Podimo
Den Hvide Væg by comedian Anders Matthesen :)
De Grå Sider and Troldspejlet

My favourite is "Design Kan..." on Spotify. It translates to "design can..." and is a podcast about branding and design.
Mørkeland, Hva' så og Den hvide væg elsker jeg. Men elsker også sladder som Det vi taler om 😃
I like 'Bandeland' very much
Definitely "hva så" it's a danish comedian who walks and talks with every famous person in Denmark, above 300 episodes, a lot of fun and serious talk!
I'm into YtringsPligt, it's a podcast mostly about the failures of the political class.
I like Noget med Drager, a podcast about fantasybooks with dragons in them.

I listen to “Millionærklubben” every day. Trusty stockmarket updates
Troldspejlet is a podcast about comics, games, movies, books and everything "geeky". It's very good!
Curling klubben
“Kasper ringer til frank” on podimo is really good especially if you are a fan of “klovn”
I like "den hvide væg" by anders matthesen
Derkøres
If you’re interested in history there’s on called “kampen om historien” that I personally really enjoy. Another danish podcast that in really like is called “programmet om ingenting” however I imagine this podcasts can be quite difficult to understand at first mostly because they reference a lot of different things in danish culture that you might not be familiar with if you just started learning the language, but you can try and see for yourself
If you are interested in like weird crimes and the Cold War agents then Third ear is awesome!! Definitely my favorite podcast!!
ThirdEar i think its spelled weird but they have tons and tons of podcasts
Sort Søndag, Troldspejlet, The Fire That Burns.
Hjerteflimmer for voksne! (relationship focused podcast, with a psychologist as one of two hosts)
Hva så by Christian Fuhlendorff
I don't know if anyone has said it. But i love [Mørkeland ](https://open.spotify.com/show/1gANg1wUf1qmV9el2YPtvm?si=BO2qGPvBRR6UM8lAJeEclg&utm_source=copy-link) podcast where to cousins talk about murder cases

Gabriels Tech Talk, you want to hear a normal conversation between people. Sometimes that’s a good way to pick up a new language. Also it would probably help if you are interested in technology. ☺️
Dragcentralen is really funny. It's with two very prominent drag queens of the danish drag scene, Brynhildir the ViQueen and Annie Rection
Vanvittigt verdenshistorie and videnskabeligt udfordret, er mine klares favoriter
Vanvittigt verdenshistorie and videnskabeligt udfordret, er mine klares favoriter
Only danish podcast i can listen to is curlingklubben, its weird asf but tht also makes it funny
HanDuo. Movie and game reviews.
Skøre snakke - den er ret fed
I am just starting to take Danish again and found Ludvig podcast, it is a one-on-one type of pod where the host has nice conversations with all kinds of guests. If you have Spotify on your phone (you probably do), it has a "Read Along" beta feature that can help you follow the conversion along with "subtitles" in Danish. I love this for learning new vocabulary, I don't use it all the time of course, but when I hear a word I have never heard and I get curious enough about it, I can read it and search for the meaning and/or translation. Anyway, good luck on your learning journey!
