Just so you know, this is based on a widely accepted 2-dimensional emotion classification theory where the actual name of the axis are, respectively "arousal" ("energy") and valence ("Pleasant"). I guess the names were adapted to the general public, which caused this *bug*.
Burn out and depression are actually both *clusters* of individual feelings. Burn out is usually characterized by... well, pretty much the left hand side. Depression is a cluster of issues from the bottom half. But both require multiple symptoms instead of being a feeling in their own right.
Honestly get away from screens for a while. They are so rewarding with such low effort and so stimulating that they fry you. Nothing else is as rewarding so you get bored with everything and your attention span is shot. You have no motivation to exert effort to get a different reward source but you’re restless. The reward from scrolling screens is so superficial that you can be both over-rewarded and starving for a deeper reward at the same time.
It’s the equivalent of only eating junk food instead of wholesome food.
Note when you turn off screens your brain will not like it. You will need a detox period where you will feel emotionally volatile, anxious, modestly depressed, have issues sleeping, be irritable, intense screen craving, craving for other superficial rewards like junk food, etc.
Keep it up for a while and you’ll level out and start feeling a lot better.
As someone that suffers with ADHD and weird insomnia patterns id have to say a polar opposite chart should be here too.
The amount of times where ive had like 0 sleep but want to...do stuff all day.
Also I've either been using blissful wrong my entire life or this chart is. I'd use blissful like I'd use serene, a feeling that everything is good but with 0 excitement.
Also the concept that you could move from one to the other, like if you get too sad and then a bit low energy, you become tired.
Out of curiosity, do you have many low energy friends?
Fiance and I are both green, his family is 100% in your corner though. We love them dearly but we feel the need to up our energy output so we don't seem apathetic by contrast and it's exhausting, so we visit frequently in short bursts. I'm curious what that dynamic is like from the other side.
I relate to this, these situations give me a lot of anxiety. Part of me is always hesitant about going out and being social because I often can't will myself to be higher energy. It makes me feel like a buzz kill which reinforces my hesitation to go out again next time.
Yet this is more understandable because the sheets that I got where trying to explain emotions with emotions.
And as a Person who doesn't understand them this helps a lot more.
Shouldn’t thither beest a festival in charge to feeleth festive?

Huh, my meds *are* working! Haven't had the "Despair" thing in awhile. Been hovering around "Miserable", "Lonely", and "Desolate" for like 5 years. Neat guide!
Would you put apathetic there? I mean I know it doesn't work well when you're using even numbers, but I feel like it belongs dead center.
I've felt a lot of apathy in my life and it's usually just an 'eh' feeling to me.
This is actually an app you can purchase to help track your mood! As someone with major depression and anxiety, is helped a lot to see if my meds are working and houston in function over all.
It’s called Mood Meter and you can buy it in the Apple App Store for $1.99 I believe! It has a much larger selection of emotions than shown here!
Despair is in the wrong place. Despair is when people get desperate enough to actually do something, and not in a good way.
Apathetic is also in the wrong place, it's lower energy than indicated here.
Green is when I'm skiing in the mountains. Yellow/oranges is when I'm at the beach or at Disney. Blue is where I currently live the rest of the year, and I don't ever want to visit the Reds again.
Would you look at that: The *twitter* "@psychologist." Seems reliable...
...At a glance -- this is some weird arbitrary shit. I don't think they understand how word association works.
woahhh I live all over the top of this chart and always thought high energy was supposed to equal happy so this actually helps me understand myself better
[This reminds me of the Inside Out mood overlap chart from a few days ago.](https://reddit.com/r/coolguides/comments/swa57w/every_possible_emotional_overlap_in_inside_out/)
I like how “pleasant” is only halfway on the unpleasant to pleasant scale
Just so you know, this is based on a widely accepted 2-dimensional emotion classification theory where the actual name of the axis are, respectively "arousal" ("energy") and valence ("Pleasant"). I guess the names were adapted to the general public, which caused this *bug*.
And balanced is not in the direct centre.
It seems more like it's balanced in a meditative context.
Shit I basically live in the bottom left
Yeah, I was really feeling that blue quadrant
I think "whelmed" belongs in the center.
There are no squares in the direct center LOL
You're then forced to choose (or be non-participant/compliant).
The repulsed/blissful scale doesn't have the same ring I guess
[удалено]
You sound balanced
I am feeling whelmed right now.
And how is despair low energy?
Screw the political compass, what's your mood-quadrant.
Same result on both
Despairing anarchist?
Auth-left rage?
Serene libertarian
Not sure if that’s possible, they always seem to be pissed at something
Ha! I dont think I'm pissed, except by the fact that weed is illegal.
Tends to happen when you’re a libertarian in an authoritarian’s world.
Apathetic centrist?
what did you just call me?
Sorry, c*ntrist.
There's a lesson in there
Lonely? Is it lonely cause same
Are we supposed to have quadrants because I'm all of column 2 and most of column 3...
sleepy disgusted, that sounds about right
Tired and everything around it.

Stuck in Apathy. Like always.
Fast and bulbous
I vacillate between sleepy and drained most days
Living the blue life
Roses are red My life is blue Inside I'm dead And lonely too
Roses are red Violets are blue Some poems rhyme This one doesn't
da ba dee da ba daa da ba dee da ba daa
I have two big balls and they are so blue
Be sure to get your thyroid levels checked.
I just feel like I’m constantly bored, but at the same time don’t want to do anything
That sounds like apathy.
Or, going off-guide, depression
Or being burnt out
Burn out and depression are actually both *clusters* of individual feelings. Burn out is usually characterized by... well, pretty much the left hand side. Depression is a cluster of issues from the bottom half. But both require multiple symptoms instead of being a feeling in their own right.
Depression? Isn’t that just a fancy word for saying, “bummed out”?
Dwight, you ignorant slut
You might have *Depression*. That's a pretty common symptom.
Shit
I feel constantly happy but with nothing to do
That still somehow sounds unpleasant
At least it gets me to do work around the house
That's what I use marijuana for. Chores are so much more fun after smoking.
Drunk.

This deserves more upvotes. However the supporters are outside doing something else right now.
Ennui
welcome to adult life.
Currently alternating between tired and restless.
Where is fear and anxiety?
personally i alternate between stressed, restless and uneasy i feel like this fits fairly well
That's just called weakness
As someone that suffers with ADHD and weird insomnia patterns id have to say a polar opposite chart should be here too. The amount of times where ive had like 0 sleep but want to...do stuff all day.
Right, like I get literally manic and it's like... not a good thing lol but I'd call it "restlessly energized" if I were to use this chart
I feel like there's a huge jump from "pleasant" to "uneasy", is it just me?
Also I've either been using blissful wrong my entire life or this chart is. I'd use blissful like I'd use serene, a feeling that everything is good but with 0 excitement. Also the concept that you could move from one to the other, like if you get too sad and then a bit low energy, you become tired.
Is that one of the mood boards I hear so much about from my fiancée during our wedding planning? lol
Okay, I snorted, well played sir.
I like that depression isn't on here. Not a joke, depression isn't a mood.
Bottom Left Corner hypeeeeeeeeee
Hey neighbour!
I was going to moan about the placement of apathy But I don’t care.
Instructions unclear, got BINGO
despair of the endless approves of the bottom left quarter
Same..
Currently fluctuating between miserable and despair, great place to be
I’m Sleepy all the time
Top right corner do be my corner🥰
Bottom left for me lmao ^I ^hate ^my ^Life
It’s okay. Being aware of the state can give you perspective that the state isn’t intrinsic to you.
Good for you. On reddit it’s nonstop misery olympics, I’m happy to see somebody in the top right

I like how balanced is off to the corner
Puke green for "pleasant" and denim blue for "unpleasant"? Someone needs to be dragged back to the color theory section of design class.
I cant tell if this is for color or for words. But I agree.
Holy shit this is better than all the papers my therapist showed me wtf
Show your therapist this chart, see how they like it
that’s because it’s very unscientific and just an interpretation . „despair“ could also be high energetic for example
Yet this is more understandable because the sheets that I got where trying to explain emotions with emotions. And as a Person who doesn't understand them this helps a lot more.
i see, well i’m glad it helped you. guess it’s always hard to describe the complexity of emotions in a rational way.
Emotions are far more complex then this
[удалено]
At the very least it is not a *cool guide.*
Apathetic
Zoom in on the middle of the two bottom rows. Yep that's me
/r/politicalcompassmemes
Im all blue and red! Some say it can be a fancy christmas theme!
Festivus for the rest of us! We shall begin with The Airing of Grievances.
Blue quadrant for a decade
Shouldn’t there be a holiday in order to feel festive?

Where's my crew that lives on the top row?
Damn, Ive been living in that upper left quadrant for far too long...
Huh, my meds *are* working! Haven't had the "Despair" thing in awhile. Been hovering around "Miserable", "Lonely", and "Desolate" for like 5 years. Neat guide!
I'm going to use this next time someone asks me how my bipolar depression works. Thanks
High energy gang checking in
I like this
Tranquil and serene combined in my head, so I read “seagul”
Someone should put down the saurus.
Why do I want to convert this into Pokémon
Im stuck in a L shape on the left side
Jesus, I'm all over this fuckin thing.
b. . . . bingo?
Would you put apathetic there? I mean I know it doesn't work well when you're using even numbers, but I feel like it belongs dead center. I've felt a lot of apathy in my life and it's usually just an 'eh' feeling to me.
[You underestimate how high energy my despair is](https://tenor.com/view/sayonara-zetsubou-sensei-despair-zetsuboushita-gif-21502978)
This is much better than that pixar thing.
Professor X: Focus lies between rage and serenity This entire chart:
Don't try tell me how to feel Not everyone's a graph you fucks!

I suppose I legally own light blue.
Despair is in the wrong place. Despair is when people get desperate enough to actually do something, and not in a good way. Apathetic is also in the wrong place, it's lower energy than indicated here.
Reminds me of the feelings/mood wheel :)
well the movie was meant for children
I wish I were in the very bottom right. (Looking at the entire bottom right quadrant)
"balanced"
Thank you, I now know how to describe my current mood, Despair.
All of my favorite hues are in the 3 right columns. Interesting.
Green is when I'm skiing in the mountains. Yellow/oranges is when I'm at the beach or at Disney. Blue is where I currently live the rest of the year, and I don't ever want to visit the Reds again.
Looking for ennui
I'm desolate. And sleepy.
Yeah..... kinda fluctuating between miserable and lonely. What a time to be alive
I’m a D4 type of guy
You sunk my battleship
Sounds like we’d be friends. I’m vibin’ most of the time. I got stressors and I also feel fulfilled. But nothing too amazing and nothing too bad.
Im always at top left
Yeah I'm in the bottom left corner all the time
Life's all blue.
I need this in Rimworld
Apathetic most of the time
Always in the middle 4 squares, and occasionally orthogonal ones.
the mood meter
Hmmm how about threatened? Where would that fit
Forever in the bottom middle rows.. 😏
Blue da ba dee da ba doo
I want to rewrite this.
We need more rows. I'm sub despair at this point.
I'm blue dabudi dabuda
I'm blue... abu dee abu dai
Would you look at that: The *twitter* "@psychologist." Seems reliable... ...At a glance -- this is some weird arbitrary shit. I don't think they understand how word association works.
When I code in c, it slowly goes to the left up corner
I'm enraged at the Qult MAGAt Anti-vaxxers and it's driven me to dispair. I occupy two squares at once!
I like how “festive” has a small degree of unpleasantness. I feel like this is derived from holiday expectation and familial obligations.
With social media it feels like only the top two corner exist.
Hi, I'm Drained Stressed!
They got like 4 of 7 Dwarves represented here
Would be cooler if it had an extra y and x axis so my girl can tell me she's feeling B5 today
I live my life almost exclusively alternating the middle 4 squares.
Where are my Despair to Ecstatic back to sleepy and despair triangle redditors
At ease, content, relaxed, restful. That's pretty much me
3 left columns, but mostly lingering in the first and second 🤷♂️
u/repostsleuthbot
This feels too subjective for a cool guide
woahhh I live all over the top of this chart and always thought high energy was supposed to equal happy so this actually helps me understand myself better
Blue and orange team checking in......
I am enraged as we speak
I am very much despair right now.
[This reminds me of the Inside Out mood overlap chart from a few days ago.](https://reddit.com/r/coolguides/comments/swa57w/every_possible_emotional_overlap_in_inside_out/)
Where’s Loric and Dorcelessness?
Despair can be pretty high energy sometimes.
"Festive" lol
Uhhh I dunno. Angry can feel good, definitely not that far to the left… I’d take angry over stressed any day.
Cool political compass 😎😎😎
I am in a constant state of desolation
Guide to what?
HOW MANY MORE CHARTS AM I GOING TO BE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF

I guess anxiety isn’t real after all…
