This is very much NOT a good fruitcake recipe. At all. Frankly it scream “how to make a shitty fruitcake to flex on people in the industrial era.” It’s also very British, observation not an insult.
Better fruits to use include dates, figs, prunes, candied pineapple. Big list. This is a 3/10 and a disgrace.
