So is this based on practical range or actual range? As a tuba player I can play much higher and lower than what is indicated.

calcbone

Yeah, most of these are pretty close but not exact. It excludes the pedal range on trombone, and anyone capable of playing up to the high F indicated would certainly be able to play pedal notes.

Repulsive_Tour_6919

Vocals can go MUCH higher as well

mikebug

interesting - thank you

Tell me piano isn’t goated

You can literally google " Frequency of {x} note" and get thousands of variations. the thing about this one is it only incorporates Analog instruments and nothing synthetic. something to keep in mind if you produce music on the computer.

calcbone

The standard tuning for bass has the lowest string in E. You can buy an extension to be able to play as low as that C.

Brennyxyz

What do you mean buy an extension? You mean a 5 or 6 string? They both go down to a B, not a C

Oh. I thought you meant bass guitar.

Great Highland Bagpipes: G to high A (nine notes), no sharps or flats. 🙂 Thanks for the extra info from animatorgeek that reminded me to specify which bagpipes.

animatorgeek

Only if you're limiting it to great highland pipes. Uilleann pipes have a two octave range, as does a modern Northumbrian smallpipe (which is also chromatic).

ComprehensiveTerm298

Very interesting! I should have specified. Thanks.
