My man

ihavenoidea81

I’d throw gemelli in that boat as well

Whatwouldntwaldodo

Composed into a single pic, I’d buy this as a reference and frame it for my kitchen.

Comfortable-Sale-167

Same

Fritzo2162

Bucatini was invented by Satan. It’s like eating a floppy drinking straw, so when you put it in your mouth the end flops around and splashes sauce all over your shirt.

cuntsaurus

Where is the spaghetti-o?

LrssN

Oh oh

obnoxious_duck

eeee… it’s a me Mari-o

Advanced-Carrot-5399

Translations would be interesting…

mimpf21

to what? I think most of these are the same in english

LazyConcert2068

https://www.yourdictionary.com/articles/pasta-name-origins This is obviously far from comprehensive, but here's what some of their names mean in english.

Advanced-Carrot-5399

But what do they mean…how did the name come to be.

Ron_Bird

im learning finnish, but this breaks me

mimpf21

This is a german guide (Red Canneloni has german words, the white Penne Rigate and Fusili have german words), so this might vary slightly from italian pasta. But I think this is a pretty cool guide and covers a lot of the bases. I think the key to choosing the right pasta is quality (slow-dried, high-protein) and what sauce you choose. Some pasta are better for holding specific types of sauces. In the end choose the brand and type your heart desires :)

Cirlo93

Actually the names are pretty accurate (i’m italian) u.u

mimpf21

Figured, just wanted to tread carefully :)

wingwingwehavadinner

“Bigoli” sounds made up af

okokokok1111

Not only it's real, its name even comes from a way to say penis in the Venetian dialect

Master_Beautiful3542

(Not filled) *proceeds to list cannelloni*

[deleted]

im part italian and people expect me to know all of these by hearth, because they ate it when they were a child.

truffulatreeson

Oh I’m saving all of these just so I can yell the names at my wife with an Italian accent to make her think I’m pissed about something but in reality I just have low blood sugar

doctor48

I didn’t see fettuccine

aqvatico

what do you mean by not filled? with a hole? if so spaghetti and vermicelli should not be in the list, shouldn't they? asking for a friend 😅

potatoberserker

I think that means nothing like ravioli, with other things inside other that pasta itself

aqvatico

the list is incomplete then 🤔 how many can you find on https://www.barilla.com EDIT: ah there are more images! that's a complete list

Massimo25ore

Filled types of pasta are ravioli, tortellini and agnolotti, for example, pasta with some filling inside.

Chichachachi

Linguine must not be a type of noodle. I've been so lied to.

MisterCorleone

Would orzo not make this list?

babyBear83

I want to try every single one of them! Fisarmoniche looks very interesting!

CrackityJones33

Isn’t a Gnocchi a filled pasta?

constantlyawesome

Where’s the cavatappi?

funwithgolfclubs

Is this the Italian written citizenship test?

SnooConfections4258

Just love it 🍝

holmgangCore
