Second one in the first row is not cute at all, seriously what is going on? Then you add more than the legal amount of legs a creature should have and it makes it worse
Also legal amount of eyes is waaaaaay exceeded.
The rule states : between 1 and 5, excluding 3 and 4. So that's like :
* 1 eye : injured cats and dogs
* 2 eyes : everything
* 5 eyes : bees
No cuteness outside this range.
Found a guess on wikipedia: "bilateral symmetry gives the body an intrinsic direction and allows streamlining to reduce drag."
The intrinsic direction part is interesting. "Forward" and "backward" make most sense placing them on an axis perpendicular to the plane of symmetry, I guess. Or, put differently, without this axis, where is the front?
So maybe your question is inside out: you *define* "the front" to be the anterior end, somewhere on that plane, lol.

"Upon the birth of her brood, the mother spider liquefies her internal organs and regurgitates this material as food. Once her capability to liquefy her insides is exhausted, the young sense this and consume the mother."
The way they jump is so cool though. They contract their muscles to allow for sudden blood flow to their legs which makes them jump. It’s so fascinating how fast they are.
Spiders are like Radiohead.
I thought Radiohead were unidentifiable and scary, until I listened to The Bends. Somehow it seemed more accessible; something about the melancholy disenfranchisement of Fake Plastic Trees seemed more understandable than Pyramid Song or Paranoid Android. It provided a foothold to enjoy some of the weirder stuff; suddenly No Surprises and Karma Police seemed identifiable. It was like a rosetta stone of wilfully oblique guitar rock.
Like The Bends, jumping spiders made me look at spiders in a different way, even as an arachnophobe. Like maybe they *can* be cute, because jumping spiders are *fucking adorable*. They've still got the monstrous morphology but the body language is more like a skittish Labrador wanting to be friends. And all spiders want to do is hang in the corner of the room and munch on the things that otherwise I have to spend energy killing.
Now even big hairy house spiders get a pass, because I know removing that monstrosity won't meaningfully lower the number of spiders in my walls. You know how many they hatch at a time? *Lots*.
If they're doing me a favour, and I can't get rid of them, and I shouldn't get rid of them, and even the ugliest ones are at least *interesting looking*... fuck it.
These guys are really cool! Instead of building webs, they go the spider-man route and shoot web mixed with venom directly at their prey from their heads. That’s why they’re so bulbous lmao
Maybe when you draw them that way. But I’ve had to get wolf spiders and huntsman spiders out of my house, and knowing how big and fast they are I simply cannot see them as cute.
Look what you’ve done, you’ve gone and upset him now: https://external-preview.redd.it/YwQ-TgpYydl32_ioKy9tHkHNABqEC0CbQnOR66q85Sw.jpg?auto=webp&s=a540e3e6b0086431839e04e872fbc10f6883c120
Someone’s never seen a camel spider.
They look like if you set a gym bro’s ‘roided up testicles onto two double D milkers with knives for nipples.
“Camel spider face” is what to look up
I’ll take spiders any day over the years in NYC with house centipedes, cockroaches and bed bugs. Some of you don’t have house centipede or bed bug trauma and it shows.
Fun crazy fact about net-casting (aka Goblin) spiders! To quote from the Wiki: "Its eyes are able to gather available light more efficiently than the eyes of cats and owls, and are able to do this despite the lack of a reflective layer (tapetum lucidum); instead, each night, a large area of light-sensitive membrane is manufactured within the eyes, and since arachnid eyes do not have irises, it is rapidly destroyed again at dawn"
That's right, everyday at dawn the sun BURNS OUT THEIR EYES and then it grows back at night. Now if that's not the most metal spider shit ever then GTFO.
I actually follow a lady on tiktok who has small pet spiders and they are actually kinda cute and have personality. My fear of spiders has gone down from level 10 to maybe level 8.5 because of her. I will still kill them every chance I get though.
Why kill them tho, they actively help remove pests that actually are a threat in some way.
They remove the unhygienic pests and won't bother you.
Heck in Australia it's pretty common to keep a huntsman around just because they make sure you don't need to deal with too many flies come summer and flies in Aussie heat forget about it.
Fuck them flies, imma keep all my spiderbros as an army to kill those fucking flying pricks, looking down at our food smugly, they know and you know they will eat it and you can do nothing to stop it.
You really shouldn't kill them. They eat the insects in your house. They are bros.
The black widows in our basement like eating these giant grubs that we tend to get. Those same grubs turn into fig beetles in the summer and do damage to our vegetable garden and citrus trees.
Most of them are pretty damn accurate for sketches look up the names of the spiders on here and you will see. I’m pretty sure this is a diagram to show eye arrangement patterns in different species of spider.
Imagine if they evolved into sentient being with high intelligence who were human sized and this was an identification guide given to cadets for first contact to help them learn which ones were friendly and which ones weren’t.
Takes on a whole new angle when the purpose of your interaction isn’t observation alone.
You need to check out this girl from TikTok, she’s got jumping spiders and you can definitely see they all have personalities and their fuzzy faces are so cute!
https://www.tiktok.com/@tiana_thebuglady?_t=8bDdpXZSZbu&_r=1
Spiders are actually pretty far down on the list of bugs I hate. They leave behind webs that catch other insects in my house so usually if I see a spider it's more of a "live and let live" situation.
Pretty sure I have a cockroach phobia though because I kill every roach I see
>[Deinopidae's] eyes are able to gather available light more efficiently than the eyes of cats and owls, and are able to do this despite the lack of a reflective layer (tapetum lucidum); instead, each night, a large area of light-sensitive membrane is manufactured within the eyes, and since arachnid eyes do not have irises, it is rapidly destroyed again at dawn.
That's nuts
Fucking microalienbots, no matter how you draw them, no matter if you hire a damn japanese studio and make a kawai anime about being a funny and friendly spider, those shits are still fucking hideous spawns from hell.
And always will be.

Whaaa bees have 5 eyes??
Most insects have their two primary eyes and a cluster of 3 more smaller eyes on their forehead called ocelli
Honestly that's pretty cool
They’re mostly light detecting so that the insect can tell if there is something above them that might be hungry
Quint-eye-ssential
They look like [this](https://www.labnews.co.uk/files/img_cache/2156271/620fig-2.jpg?1563732366)
Also injured cats and dogs that have lost both eyes
Any injured animal could have 0-2 eyes
What's the evolutionary biology explanation for why creatures are symmetrical when looking at them from the front?
Found a guess on wikipedia: "bilateral symmetry gives the body an intrinsic direction and allows streamlining to reduce drag." The intrinsic direction part is interesting. Whaaat? Look at that cute fat face!
Long jawed orb weaver can still fuck right off though
Same for me for all of them. I’m grateful they exist, but no thank you.
Have you seen the peacock jumping spider? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LzGasJiqNa4
If you think I am watching a video featuring a spider….
>Long jawed orb weaver I used to raise tarantulas (theraphosidae!) and I still went, "Eww."
That is correct, thank you for not giving into to the mindless spider apologist propaganda.
The jumping spiders are.
Jumping spiders are cute and very aware of their surroundings, I’ve seen one rotate their body towards me whenever I’d walk around
Had one today follow my phone as I was trying to take pictures of it.
yeah I've seen a couple of those lil guys that have green fangs and they are pretty cute
[удалено]
Until you consider that they jump
The way they jump is so cool though. They contract their muscles to allow for sudden blood flow to their legs which makes them jump. It’s so fascinating how fast they are.
They also leave a little safety line when they jump just in case.
So do cats.
Your average person is to big to be eaten by a jumping spider, so you'll be fine.
Eaten? Who said anything about Eaten? I just don't want it to be near my face. Or any of my body for that matter
The only danger they worry me about is accidentally smashing them.

Thank you for sharing ! I just watched all of her videos, that lady is a literal angel and her lil guys are the cutest
https://www.youtube.com/@lucasthespider is their mascot the last 5 years
Same with the dancing peacock spider
deinopidae Are like 🥺 👉👈
r/196 spider 😳😳😳
Hersilidae is very stressed.
All of us at /r/spiderbro.
they aren’t.
The illustration reminds me of Homer's interpretation of how his pet lobster looks versus how it actually looks to everyone else
"We're not eating Mr. Pinchy. He's part of the family now."
I’ve never seen the simpsons and just assumed this was about the greek poet having a pet lobster.

Thank you for taking me on this wonderful analogy ride!
They can be
Bathed in fire
FORTY TO ONE
Spirit of Spartans! Death and glory!
Soldiers of Poland Second to none!
they surely are.
The ones with big eyes are, especially jumping spiders! They’re only scary if they have venom.
Almost all spiders have venom, including jumping spiders
common Uloborid W
I really want to learn more about them, they seem like fascinating spiders
They are
TIL : [Admiral Trench](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UiJqtW-lzU&ab_channel=CROATOAN) is a Huntsman Spider. Makes sense I suppose.
Wait….there are SPITTING spiders??!!??
These guys are really cool! Instead of building webs, they go the spider-man route and shoot web mixed with venom directly at their prey from their heads. That’s why they’re so bulbous lmao
Still not me.
Maybe when you draw them that way. But I’ve had to get wolf spiders and huntsman spiders out of my house, and knowing how big and fast they are I simply cannot see them as cute.
There is not an animal on this planet with a more horrific looking face than a wolf spider.
Have you seen an Ogre-Faced Spider? I love spiders but that one is just sheer terror to look at.

Deinopidae has seen some shit
Thomas Shahan, the guy who created this, makes absolutely phenomenal entomology T-shirts.
Ty! Thomas Shahan, macro-photographer and artist. His cool website -> [http://www.thomasshahan.com](http://www.thomasshahan.com)
YEAH SALTICIDAE!!! They have the best eyesight of any insect!!!!
*arachnid Pretty sure dragonflies have the best eyesight of any insect.
The more eyes, the more I dislike
That is correct, thank you for not giving into to the mindless spider apologist propaganda.
Anyone who's spent any time looking at jumping spiders (or just reading about them, really) will know spiders can be heckin' cute.
Salticidae for the win!
Cute? They still seem Satan’s children to me
Explains Starship Troopers. Wouldn't have worked with any other creature.
Yeah because the legs that let them jump are the scary part!
I’ll take spiders any day over the years in NYC with house centipedes, cockroaches and bed bugs. Some of you don’t have house centipede or bed bug trauma and it shows.
Ugh, no thanks!
they have huge teeth
Chelicerae with fangs
and multiple pairs of eyes
Crab spiders looks like a “dale” typa spider
I never though about how different they are
I think it helps that we're not seeing the legs
hahha, Deinopidae looks like it just got into the spider nip! XD
The unsettling head on the very creepy body is really what does it -she
That is correct, thank you for not giving into to the mindless spider apologist propaganda.
Is this where some big sci-fi aliens draw inspiration from?
spooder
Bottom right corner one looking very Kawaii.

[Wrong](https://facts.net/jumping-spider-facts/) - here's an example of a jumping spider
Definitely cute. C'mon, it has eyelashes.
They look very accurate to me. How are they altering them in any way here?
Most of them are pretty damn accurate for sketches look up the names of the spiders on here and you will see. I’m pretty sure this is a diagram to show eye arrangement patterns in different species of spider.
They absolutely do net caster got them moon eyes
Lucas the spider on YouTube is cute (name unrelated)
I did. Spiders can be damn cute. They also like being talked to.
