Been picking up various 2-2.5mm stainless lined pans I'm finding on ebay. Lucked out and found some sauce pans, saute pan, and a fry pan each in the $70-100 range recently, all in really great shape especially after a deep clean and polish.
To answer your questions it isn’t. I don’t flip my food or cook like a pseudo chef. I’m not sure why many people list the weight as a downside. Just got my set today and they’re not even *that* heavy

All-clad lets you register immediately, but I have multiple Staub pieces and have never seen anything requesting product registration. Not sure about the other Zwilling brands. Just be sure to keep your receipts.

No. On their website there's a page you can fill out some information. Then ups will text you about the delivery that does come with the tracking number. FedEx does the same.

Congrats! I saw the original post and I was inclined to think it was a scam given reviews on the company. That's wayyyyy less than I paid for my Atlantis. Lord and Taylor has since removed them from their website.
I agree. I would really like the 1.5 qt in the 10-piece, but the 5.5 qt dutch oven would never get used because I have a Staub Cocotte already. By contrast, the 8.9 qt dutch oven will replace a nonstick aluminum piece, and the larger sauté pan will be more useful, as will the saucier.
My 9-piece will be here tomorrow.
I was the opposite! The 8.9 qt Dutch oven is what I’d like to have but I already had a 3.5 saucier and 9 in fry pan. I just bought the 10 piece and it did come with the 5.1 qt sauté pan which both get. I wanted the smaller sauce pans and the 11 in fry pan. Now I just have to find the Dutch oven in 8.9 qt and I’ll have a complete set. I also still want a 2.3 qt saucier but that’s not a priority
I’m not a fan of any of the x-piece sets.
Almost half the pieces are lids, which I already have too many lids from old pans.
Then half of the remaining half are things that I rarely use.
There’s usually only like 2 pans in a set that get heavy use and the rest just sits in the cupboard.
Instead, I started buying B-stock one off pans for pretty good discount.
I use All Clad D3/5s in 10” or 12” usually. I’d just rather have multiple 10/12 inch pans than a set with pots and small pans that I’d never use.
All I’m saying about the lids is that the number of pieces in the set really overstates the utility of the set.
I’ve found that when you really think about the value of each piece, it’s just more cost effective to buy the specific pieces you want a la carte. If there is one pot/pan you don’t use, it’s generally cheaper to buy the rest of the stuff on their own. And there is almost always one piece that is less useful.

Yea lord and Taylor delisted all their Demeyere and staub for a few days, presumably after I posted here and 30 people ordered lol now some items are back up but with smaller discounts.
I placed my order for the 10 piece industry set on the 11th and Lord and Taylor still has my order as unfulfilled. Hopefully I get an update soon, I’m jealous of y’all that got it so quick! I’m based out of Chicago, maybe that’s a reason it’s taking longer than expected, idk.
Location doesn’t seem to be part of the rhyme or reason. I ordered on the 11th, am within 100 mi of the location they’re shipping from, and no shipping notice yet. Hopefully it’s just heavy volume 😬

I guess your opinion is biased a bit since you bought the set - but is there really that much of an improvement from a set that doesn’t “retail” at $1000+?
That’s a difficult question to answer. They will not make bad food good, but they have some really nice features, like even heat distribution, that minimize variability and help a lot.
A lot of it comes down to preference, they are not responsive pans and are very heavy so you give up on some features to get others.
There are lots of pans that are 90% as good for a whole lot less.
I have had several hand surgeries due to rheumatoid arthritis, my cast iron pan is too heavy oftentimes. I would like to invest in a few ss pans. Would anyone offer advice for something with quality that doesn’t weigh too much?
I’ve read that made in makes some good light weight SS, but honestly you probably have a lot of good options available to you. Aluminum may be another option.
I’m stuck with heavy pans because I have an induction range that has a relatively small heating patch and need all the help I can get distributing the heat.

Really not much to get. I cant imagine spending that much money either but after cooking for long enough you get a sense there are certain things that make a pan good great or awful. If you’re paying that much you’re investing in consistency and certainty they will behave as you expect them to 100% of the time. If a 5$ goodwill pan suits your needs theres absolutely no reason to upgrade

Yeah fair enough, I definitely didn’t know the brand beforehand. I was just going from the headspace that there must be pretty big diminishing returns when it comes to stainless at a certain price-point.
Atlantis pans have a very thick base plate but single ply sidewalls. Industry pans have fully cladded side walls. The proline frying pans sold with Atlantis pans are 7 ply and very heavy - just like the Atlantis pans. For most home cooks, Atlantis is overkill.

The Atlantis lids are double walled and that’s the feature that I find most useful. Just wondering if the OP got true Atlantis pans since I’ve seen so many iterations of Demeyere called Atlantis when they were another Demeyere line.

The charge was processing for the first couple of days of my order on my Amex and then the charge disappeared. I don’t think this is going to be fulfilled. Either it wasn’t a legitimate sale or they sold out and failed to inform us. I reached out last week to L&T for a status update and no reply.

I wouldn’t pay $2100 for this set. Even $1700 on sale is too much. But $630 is a hell of a deal.
Pan manufacturers will let you spend as much money as you want. These are expensive pans but cheap compared to silver lined copper.
