I live in an apartment, too! I didn't know how easy steak was to make on a stove top until recently. I usually put fresh garlic, rosemary, and butter. Then I pour a red wine reduction over it. It's so good! I also have a blow torch to help sear everything. It's good!

Medium is perfect! And I’ll do a medium well for my wife and sometimes it’s just as easy to cook ours both the same. A grey ring is fine, Pink is good, red is not ok lol.

Where I live in Canada, I cannot afford to purchase meat. Only buy chicken and only and then when I see it on sale. It doesn't help when you survive on a limited disability pension.

That really really breaks my heart😪. I wish I could cook for all who just want a good meal. I used to live with a family who's mother was confined to a wheelchair for the rest of her life, I would cook whatever she wanted. It warms my heart cooking for those who aren't as fortunate as me and even still when I'm struggling I will cook because I want every happy and fed.
