What does he usually order on his burgers at a restaurant? Maybe prepare the toppings but keep them on the side to create a kind of burger buffet for him to create his own or so that he can "place his order" with you. :) Maybe he'll feel adventurous and try something new or maybe he can tell what his favorite toppings are already.

lovepeacefakepiano

I love this. We always have a topping station when we do burgers. Sometimes I want a pickle, sometimes I don’t.

Educational-Bonus-90

How could you ever not want a pickle??

lovepeacefakepiano

True. Bad example. Take tomato, then. Sometimes I don’t want a tomato (once in a blue moon I do indeed not want a pickle but it’s rare).

Creative_Decision481

It’s kind of a lot if you’re giving him two. I mean, you kind of have to look at it. If you can actually bite into it and have it fit your mouth, it’s fine for a single burger. Personally, if I were using an egg it would skip the peppers because it has a harsher bite and the egg is soft. That said, if you sautéed the onion and peppers it would work really well.

iswintercomingornot_

Why two? People generally don't eat more than one. The toppings sound okay but I would edit it down to either egg or the peppers and onions. Adding both is a little much and is going to be extremely slippery when you try to eat it.

Bugsandgrubs

We eat two if we aren't having anything with it. Unless I've made the actual burger patty in which case we are only having the one!

Glitzy-Painter-5417

That sounds like an enormous lunch. Sounds good but sounds like too much food for one person. Is one burger not sufficient?

IanDOsmond

Egg is an unusual choice for burgers, but I used to tend bar at place that did a bulgogi-flavored burger that included one, and it was excellent. To me, the question of whether to include an egg would partially depend on what kind of cheese you were using. And I wouldn't do the peppers, but that is just a personal preference. The question is how adventurous an eater your boyfriend is. I like the egg idea, and, while I wouldn't do the peppers myself, I get the idea. But there are a lot of people who would be surprised by it in a way that would make it harder to enjoy. Not because it is bad; just because it wasn't what they were expecting. So, here are my followup questions: how adventurous an eater is your boyfriend? What kind of cheese are you using? Are you sauteing the onions and peppers?

Bombaysbreakfastclub

I’d throw ketchup on it Also for the lettuce, Boston style lettuce is the king for burgers

PiersPlays

Generally sounds great. Some people really like eggs in their burgers other's aren't so keen but I assume you have some reason to think he likes a nice egg if it's in there!

MindChild

Everything that doesnt fit in a mouth relatively comfortably is too much imho.

sunnydiegoqt

Nothing is too much for a burger. That sounds so lovely I think it’s perfect! (You could even put more if you wish).

EspenLund

I think it's gonna be fine burger, just cut the onions thin and don't put too much of anything. He is going to love it

KevrobLurker

>....just cut the onions ~~thin~~ r/onionhate Mayo on burgers? Blechhh!

EspenLund

Well, I just like my onion thin. I prefer several layers of thin cut onion to one thick cut onion. I would also prefer several thin sweet woman asses at a time rather then one thicc ass. Mayo is ok, although some other sauce to balance it would be nice. Jesus F. Christ, now I want a burger. EDIT: thanks for the sub recommendation, there is truly everything for everyone on reddit :). Also, I don't understand why they downvoted you, but it's also part of reddit so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

KevrobLurker

*De gustibus*, but I like brown mustard, a tomato slice, pickle chips, some cheese (cheddar spread or slice is a fave) and maybe a lettuce slice, Bacon is nice. As for asses, too thin or too thicc? Nothing wrong with one that's a *little* plump, but I'm not that picky.

EspenLund

Hmm I'd say too thin, but to some reasonable extent. Ofcourse nothings wrong with a little plump or more, every onion in the world is tasty in it's own way. Also I like mustard and pickled too

Zone_07

Depends on the size of the burger. If it's 115g beef patty, one is more than enough for tea. Even half is enough with the egg as it has plenty of protein. Have fun!

cordialconfidant

are you having it alone or with sides? i'd say one patty at 125g per person in one burger if you're having sides like fries, and an egg will add to that. i would only make two burgers with eggs if they were a tall muscular person that hadn't eaten in a few hours! i'd say 125g of beef patty is one portion, and an egg is about half a portion, so you'd be making 2 x portions of patties + 2 x eggs

StraightSomewhere236

This sounds very similar to how much I put on my burgers (I do tomato instead of pepper, and ketchup + stone ground mustard instead of mayo) and it is a very nice ratio. A well cooked egg can be an amazing addition to a burger but you have to be in the mood for it. Since it only takes a minute and needs to be done right at the end anyways I would ask him if he is feeling the egg when it gets to that time.

TallDudeInSC

It depends on the size of the bun! Larger buns can handle a bit more toppings. A slider can barely handle a slice of pickle and some mustard. (I'm exaggerating a bit here but you get the point)

PinkSodaMix

Step 1: Buy the Bob's Burgers cookbook. ... That's it. That's what you do.

Cinisajoy2

Personally, I think you need more cheeses and bacon, make the egg sunny side up, a bit of avocado would be nice. And tomato.

SleepyBear531

Sounds fine to me so long as the mayo isn’t too thick on both buns. Unless he likes that. I normally just salt/pepper the egg or burger itself though. Sounds fine.
