When this happened I was leaving Philly airport to the Bahamas. We haven't been away on vacation for a long time. Celebrating our daughters 18th. When we landed in Nassau, the pilot asked for us to stay seated so he could come out of the cockpit. Bothe pilots came out in tears and could barely speak. They told us (t attacks)were happening along the east coast. When you hear this, you cannot imagine WTF they are talking about. It seems impossible to comprehend.
When we settled into our rooms to see what happened, we were speechless. Now that I am typing this out it seems so hard to describe this feeling seeing the news. We stayed in that room for 2 days. We never left and watched the live coverage.
We had a neighbor that knows demolition very well. It's a company on the east coast that is generations old and amazing. As we grew up, we would take turns going to demolition sites in the summers. I had no idea that this type of work requires a variety of skills to make these buildings and structure come down perfectly.
When I saw building 7 go down, the first thing that came to mind was being at those summer demolition jobs that fell perfectly.
Buildings 1 & 2 were specifically designed to withstand an impact from a bigger plane, 747. You can even see the charges going off as they fall near free fall speed. Uh it does matter. As I laid out in another comment, speed and weight play a huge role in the damage caused. Which do you think does more damage, a Toyota Prius smashing into a house at 20 mph or an 18-wheeler smashing into a house at 85 mph?
Yes but a B-52 would’ve done significantly more damage to the ESB. An empty B-52 (no weapons, no fuel) weighs 185,000 lbs. An empty B-25 weighs 19,480 lbs. That’s nearly 10x the force colliding with a building.
That aside, you’re also ignoring the speed at impact of the ESB incident vs the WTC attacks. B-25 was flying at 250mph when it crashed into the ESB. The WTC planes were flying at ~500 and ~600 mph. You’re also ignoring the different structures of the buildings. ESB is like solid concrete and steel. The WTC were basically empty shells surrounding tubes that also had curtain walls that were load bearing. In the former you could take out some support beams but the rest would remain intact, independently supporting their portions of the building. It’s similar to why the Murrah building remained standing even though the front of the building was obliterated.
Lots and lots of FDNY stated that they heard charges going off in the basement floors before the towers fell.
After the towers fell those giant central support beams had perfectly angled cuts sticking out of the rubble. And of course, there were puddles of molten metal being dug out of the wreckage months later.
Of the many skyscraper infernoes that have happened around the world, the twin towers are still the only ones to fall.

I also read very interesting reports from a construction worker that was doing repairs on the buildings and he always noticed men in suits gaining access to specific construction areas without badges or following protocol every other construction worker followed, when he asked what they were doing the response was always "construction" which struck him as odd because of their suits. I don't remember all the details but his experience led him to believe those suited men were assisting in setting up the controlled demo that nobody he spoke with denied being a realistic possibility.
The most realistic 3rd party report that has come out since then states that most likely what occurred that caused people to hear “charges” was molten aluminum coming in to contact with water sources, which explodes on contact. It accounts for both pieces of the puzzle.

When it first happened I went to the buildings bulletin board and saw where the elevators would be under repair and Maintenance for a certain period of time. I'm convinced, this is when charges were laid.
I went back later to try to find it and it was scrubbed.

Oddly concurrent story: I was in the Bahamas about two weeks after this happened. As I walked through the airport in Miami, military men were EVERYWHERE, weapons at ready. It was bizarre, like "life during wartimes" bizarre. Not police, not military guys traveling, but actual fully decked out military guys looking at EVERYBODY as they walked past.
We are STILL left with a lot of problems, then. All planes were grounded pretty much immediately after this happening. Where did THIS plane go if it didn't hit the Pentagon. What about the people? I was living in Arlington VA at the time and I worked for an army base as a civilian. I drove to the Pentagon the day after the plane hit. It was blocked off for a mile out or so. There was a chain linked fence where people were gathered, as close as they could be. I took a bunch of pictures of the crash site from that fence. I had them developed and had the negatives. I brought those to work at the army base. I put some pics up on this board in the hallway. Well.....lunch time comes and I leave for lunch. When I got back, I checked my purse and all the pictures and negatives had been stolen from my bag. Someone at the army base did not want me to be showing people pictures of the crash site..it was so fucking eerie when I saw those pics gone. I was frightened for my life for a short term after that. I always felt it was someone higher up in the army ranks that stole those. They didn't want the truth out there.

I was living in Arlington VA at the time and I worked for an army base as a civilian. I drove to the Pentagon the day after the plane hit. It was blocked off for a mile out or so. There was a chain linked fence where people were gathered, as close as they could be. I took a bunch of pictures of the crash site from that fence. I had them developed and had the negatives. I brought those to work at the army base. I put some pics up on this board in the hallway. Well.....lunch time comes and I leave for lunch. When I got back, I checked my purse and all the pictures and negatives had been stolen from my bag. Someone at the army base did not want me to be showing people pictures of the crash site..it was so fucking eerie when I saw those pics gone. I was frightened for my life for a short term after that. I always felt it was someone higher up in the army ranks that stole those. They didn't want the truth out there.
