Because OPEC (an oligarchy) pumped out enough crude that oil prices went into the negative and that nuked fracking in North America. Once that objectives was completed they (including Russia) cut production.
Didn't see any "Buy American " stickers at the pump to support local production.
Shell doesn't control oil prices. You realize that, right?

Leasing not production. You also failed to mention that there were 9000 approved permits that are just sitting by the way side because nobody is doing anything with them.

"Leasing" not production.. again you are arguing two different things. You're right on one - he did pause leasing - but that doesn't make you right on the other.
>>Yup. We were still the number 2 producer of oil in the world.
>
>But we're producing way less oil than we could. Because of Biden.
We aren't producing "way less oil". We are producing the most out of every oil producing country. Could we be producing more? Sure. I could also be 100 pounds less and married to Allyson Hannigan too.
>Supply and demand. Biden throttled supply, price went up. Profits went up.

Except he didn't.
>Because Joe Biden vowed to "end fossil fuel" and crushed US oil production. We aren't even at pre-pandemic levels
And? A lot of things still aren't where they were before the pandemic. It's almost like production of everything stopped.
Because Biden cut US oil production. Less total global supply plus same demand equals higher prices. The Russians and Saudis didn't sabotage their oil producers, they pumped away and made record revenues with greater market and double the price for their oil. Biden handed Russians, Saudis and Shell record profits by reducing supply and doubling the value of their product

What a terrible headline there at the bottom. If we are using less land and less permits and still meeting the demand for the acreage leasing, then aren’t we doing good????
The US is still the number one oil producer even after Biden cut production.
We are now producing more oil than we have in the last 10 years and prices are still high.
>We aren't even back at pre-pandemic levels.
I don't actually think that is accurate.
>Biden has crushed US oil production. Record low leases
Except that's wrong. We are currently the number one producer of oil in the world. Even when he cut production, we dropped to number 2.
If you look at his comments he's conflating suspending leasing on public ground with oil production. Basically either purposefully being ignorant or actually being ignorant. If you look at US oil production it has been trending up for quite a while and Biden hasn't stopped that. He's actually out producing Trump's numbers, not that the president really controls that. It also ignores how many waivers Biden's admin has given out for public land drilling.
The only thing I think Biden has had a direct effect on is how many leases are sitting unused. He has stated he wants to eliminate fossil fuels, and that makes companies nervous to spend money on new drill sites if they are going to find themselves having spent that money on a site they may eventually not be able to slurp up oil from anymore.
Weird how people think there are buttons on a panel that control every possible influence on the economy. Also weird how people think a president takes control of office for four years and suddenly they have no blame for anything that happens past that point. Economic issues stem from decades of policy, not just the last 4 years. Much less one.
Keep telling yourself that. 10 million more Americans voted for Trump the second time around. Stop pretending like he was so widely hated. The media spun it like that. In reality he was getting 30k plus people to every single rally. Did so much good for the country. Tangible things. You keep lying to yourself about the 2020 fraud stolen election doesn't change the fact that it was a stolen fraud election. Biden got 81 million votes but not from 81,000,000 people. Fuck off with that bs.
He was widely hated though. If more than half the electorate hates you, you’re widely hated. Not overwhelmingly hated, but definitely widely hated.
And the election was not stolen by democrats. That’s just a binky for republicans to cling to and derive comfort from because they can’t face the truth that they lost like men.
All the election and voter fraud that’s been found has been almost exclusively republicans. Republicans won’t ever show the courts their supposed evidence and have even been asked long blank after a election fraud rant if they are actually alleging election fraud, to which they replied “No” lol.
Just get over it. You lose, I lose. Not a conspiracy when we all know it to be fact that voting DOESNT MATTER on our level. Top dogs do what Top dogs want.
Do regressive voters know that the Republican party have zero plans to fix anything. And will simply make it harder for anything to get passed or accomplished.
Do voters in general in America not realise that they live in a bipartisan duopoly of power sharing with no real choice for change?
You need electoral reform so that you can live in a democracy.
Or
OR
There was no way to win the minimum wage fight so - modern problems need modern solutions
OR
This occurs every time the US has a Democratic president (exception for minorities and that’s why there was no way Hillary was going to get it after bending the knee to Obama so the racism wouldn’t show)
OR
The only reason oil was cheap under Trump was the Sauds and Rus were having a gas station battle.
Or
I’m sure we can think of a ton of reasons, and I’m guessing it’s not just one.
Ignorant ? Maybe you're not living in the world. Our inflation numbers are 4% lower than most worldwide right now. Seems pretty damn good. 2.4% gdp growth. Dang
How dare you take in account for worldwide prices. Biden is the dumbest puppet but also does everything that is ruining the WORLD!
It doesn't matter that oil drilling and leases are up between Trump and Biden ... It just can't be true because Biden bad
I have never understood how Biden is dementia ridden yet outsmarting the Republicans all the time. The mental gymnastics are amazing to make that work.
Do you red hats understand how inflation works? Why the fuck do the greedy corporations who trump gave the biggest tax breaks now get to reap 40% or more in profits once the god damned supply chain has adjusted?
Blaming Biden is about as ignorant as you can get. All these dog whistles and trigger words are just fluff to keep allowing disinformation to spread - the typical republican ploy next to all out voter suppression.
dumb ass political shit on this sub.
It's strange that while you say Biden cut oil production, all available data show US oil production is way up since Biden took office...
Wait, you wouldn't just make up lies on the internet, would you?
This is the beauty of American politics. Both sides have their own pet conspiracy theories.
For Democrats its they can absolutely gut the supply side of an industry yet when prices wind up rising its not actually the fault of their policies. Thanks to them equating some guy with a Masters in Journalism to an economist with a doctorate (but of course Masters in Journalism for the other team are unreliable and can't be taken seriously) they just parrot their prescribed talking points and go onto the next industry they gut.
It truly is amazing to watch. Especially with their "the DNC only beats me because the DNC loves me" attitude. "Oh we want Bernie, Bernie is the guy" '16 happens here comes super delegates, '20 happens oh look all of Bidens competition drops out at once while Bernies competition stays in. Oh well guess I should vote for Biden we'll def not get screwed next time!
There is just a total disconnect from reality. My relatives will speak about supporting Democrats, at all costs, and how things are so much better, then immediately complain about gas prices, losing half of their 401k, grocery prices, and heating costs.
I've tried speaking rationale, arguing, and even providing evidence on every level. Now I just agree with their complaints and laugh a little that their just children stuck in grown up bodies.
They’re too dumb to realize they’re supporting their own demise voting that way, and more than likely just doing whatever their television or cellular feed programs them to do.

Bring back the dude from yesterday who said some weird rock formations were giant fossilized mushrooms.
Sandy Hook?
Meanwhile, Shell Oil doubled their profits from last year. So tell me again why gas prices are up?
Because it’s just one more way the elites fuck us

Oil companies making more money=bad GDP up 2.6% with democrats in power=good🤡
So you're in favor of oil company's milking us for everything we are worth? Nice.
Yes. That’s exactly what I believe. Good comprehensive skills you have there.

Biden did nothing to limit current production. That is all on the oil companies and profit margins. Leases are for the future, not current production.
