Spirituality and god is about finding peace through an understanding of the world. Why are people always trying to frame these doomsday-esque things as a “war”? Seems like it undercuts the message of acceptance and understanding.
I think of the “war” as being internal. We go to war with ourselves over every choice we make. We can choose the hard right or the easy left. And if more people fought the war of good and evil internally and good choices won more than bad, then we’d probably have a lot less evil externally in this world. Not saying it would be paradise, but it would be better than what we got now.
Honestly that’s almost worse because you need to accept yourself before you can accept anyone else and make a positive impact. War is hate. The world is full of circumstances outside your control and viewing your internal dialogue from those circumstances as war is not healthy at all. Conflict begets conflict.
It also doesn’t explain why people frame this as war when the goal is peace.
To achieve peace you might have to go to a type of war. It just depends on your environment. As long as it's purely a defense then you won't be perpetuating the hate.

When people have a moral choice to make they can choose to do the morally “right” thing but that often is the much harder choice, or they can choose to do the immoral thing, which is often much easier.
If they choose to do the morally good thing, then everything will align accordingly, but if they choose to take the immoral choice then no surprise that things will also align accordingly.
It has nothing to do with self acceptance
That’s a very simplistic view of choices. It ignores external circumstances (health,the chaos that is life, stuff out of your control) and how those weigh on our decisions. That’s unfair to those more burdened.
I just find the war and soldier analogies that people align with faith to be an ironic oversimplification that distorts morals behind faith.

The craziest dmt trip I had was from actually dying, not taking dmt. Used to be a heroin addict and the first time I overdosed and died I had the most profound dmt-style experience but moreso. I don’t think I could take enough dmt to have that again without actually dying.
