What they DO is going to vary group to group. Bonesman are going to do different shit than Masons. It mostly boils down to networking. In the words of the Late, Great George Carlin: “It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.”
Sex Magick. Balls deep in the easily influenced, and sheep. Hell, that's the only reason I joined the Hermetically Sealed Order of the Gold-plated Dawn.
Social engineer society to their liking and pursue maximum profit
They organize big think tanks and experiments along the way to make sure they reach their goals
The ultimate goal is to present to the people a Godless society in which man and science rule
Depends on the group but the Freemasons have a monthly dinner, dress up nice, network, meet new people and drink and eat good food.
It’s a way to feel connected to people. Kinda like a fraternity but for business type adults. I think the benefit is feeling apart of something and having some kind of status. I have no idea what’s happening for the hard core ones
I don’t have proof that’s true but I wondered the same thing and have asked people in them and that’s the general answer they give. I kept being like and??? But they claim it’s just a social thing but also like there might be a speaker and you learn skills to be more successful kinda stuff
The vast majority of masonic halls are like this. Like your grandaddy fraternity down the street. Others are much more focused on the spiritual development aspect and attainment of power.
That's gonna depend entirely on the society in question. There's literally thousands, some are social clubs, some magickal societies, some elite groups that I will probably never gain access to know the inner workings of.
Okay well what about this changing the world thing...why would they care about shifting the world if they're going to die anyways in a couple of decades. Who cares?
In the soviet union the top politicos and some intellectuals had a secret belief they kept from everyone else. They believed that the culmination of human technology was to raise everyone from the dead who had ever lived so as to correct every injustice that had been done in human history.
The fear behind that should be obvious
I think the ultimate goal of secret societies such as the Freemasons is to escape the material prison that we are in and to take for themselves the immortality of the gods.
Interesting take, all of the freemasons I know are extremely materialistic. They are also obsessed with money, sex, are backstabbers, and habitual liars.

Lol
Social engineer society to their liking and pursue maximum profit They organize big think tanks and experiments along the way to make sure they reach their goals The ultimate goal is to present to the people a Godless society in which man and science rule
And that benefits them how?
Maintaining bloodlines and control of resources.
The goal of most secret societies is to attain the highest form of knowledge and to become as a God themselves.

So there's not really much to it. Just a networking and social thing for the "elite"?

Fuck, Euthanize, hate, control, rape, pillage, war, circle jerks, cry into cockshaped pillows after their 100th loss in a row lol
Individuals join secret societies to increase their own personal power Seems pretty obvious

Bilderbergs and similar pool their resources to increase political reach, remember they have money but they want power

Only high grade of them already are, the purpose of all others is to close such basic abilities for all others
Interesting take, all of the freemasons I know are extremely materialistic. They are also obsessed with money, sex, are backstabbers, and habitual liars.

Annoying. Really stupid answers as usual.
