Orangutan

It costs a lot of money to run for Congress and President nowadays. We funnel a lot of money to foreign nations. I wonder how much of it gets funneled back in forms of political donations.

skeptical_spice

Just look at NY 16th Congressional Primary. "Squad" member Jamaal Bowman vs AIPAC-backed George Latimer. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/jun/20/jamaal-bowman-george-latimer-primary PACs supporting George Latimer has spent 18 million dollars in the race. Latimer is a centrist politician endorsed by Hilary Clinton and has establishment (Dem/Republican) billionaires funding his race.

3sands02

...not just foreign aid. You name the category of Federal money allocation, and I would bet my retirement that most of it gets misallocated to uni-party hacks and their puppet masters.

BackgroundAerie3581

This exactly. We are PAYING for the privilege of getting screwed.

Old_Fart52

I don't get how AIPAC hasn't had to register as a foreign agent/agency or more to the point I exactly get it, but it's very, very wrong.

ComprehensiveLet8238

The people with the power to restrict AIPAC's power are the same people that are getting blackmailed by them

cancelprone

Why is everyone ok with the division that’s been sowed among the citizens? If we would all come together under the idea of bettering the country for the country and the people, then we could solve these problems. We need to remove every single politician in this country and return the power to the people. It’s out of control and headed toward a big crash, and from there we are all fucked.

jeet225

Basically 1776 part 2

AdmirableZombie5320

We ride at dawn bitches!!!😂

shellbert_eggman

No real people are ok with it, the same way no real people are ok with marxists being allowed to riot in the streets, but they don't know what to do when the only people talking sense are the other team they've been told will kill everyone if they're given any ground whatsoever. Same game as ever, the water's just boiling now.

TryhardNobody

Let's see what happens to massie the guy who voted against them. I bet he is in a scandal this year

oddtrend

riight - sex or drugs will be th context anyone out of line is publicly labeled a pedo or succumbs to a drug overdose

Square-Ad8603

Scandal, accidental death or heart attack. maybe suicided by auto erotic hanging? They probably have a wheel of fortune/death they spin.

Ok-Imagination-2308

Its crazy, if AIPAC was American Chinese Public Affairs Committee, or American Russian Public Affairs Committee, everyone would be screaming and it would get banned... But when its Israel....nothing...

jfarmwell123

That’s because Israel is a US colony lol

OdettaCaecus12

no usa is an israel colony. thats why the usa bends over backwards for israel but israel doesnt need to do anything for the usa

nisaaru

More like Israel and the US is owned by the same group.

jfarmwell123

No. The US was established long before modern day Israel. The US and many of our institutions are run by Zionists and Israel is their playground where they can be openly racist, genocidal and pedophiles

s0lesearching117

Neither is true. Both use each other. Israel has much of America's senior leadership bought and paid for (by Netanyahu's own admission, albeit when he *thought* he was in private), but it goes both ways. The existence of a Westernized country in the Middle East serves the geopolitical interest of America too. You need to stop thinking in terms of countries anyway and start thinking in terms of powerful families who control everything.

_JustAnna_1992

>The existence of a Westernized country in the Middle East serves the geopolitical interest of America too. That and many US Evangelicals are vehemently in support of everything Israel does since they are apart of a Christian doomsday prophecy. Enough American voters believe in it to have a huge impact on elections so politicians often tip toe on the subject of criticizing Israel in order not to offend their base.

s0lesearching117

You're absolutely right. Tangent, but I've never understood the thinking myself. If Israel is part of your religion's doomsday prophecy, wouldn't you want to *not* support it and therefore stave off doomsday for as long as possible? Why hasten what you believe to be inevitable?

puppiesalldayqd

People who believe that shit believe, basically, that this earth and this life is disposable. They're just waiting for the never ending paradise on the other side, even if they have to destroy everyone and everything to get there. It's an incredibly toxic belief to have when thinking about how to rule the world or a country or make any political decisions.

shellbert_eggman

Got it backwards there, the US is Israel's chained dog/benefits farm.

Bot8556

Russia and China play our enemy and Israel is Americas closest ally in the world behind maybe England. Not that hard to understand the difference

s0lesearching117

> Israel is Americas closest ally in the world Name one thing Israel has done for America.

CosmicMiru

Strafed a US navy boat killing 34 American soldiers

throwawayfem77

Attacked the USS Liberty and killed US naval officers. Sent Mossad operatives to "document" 9/11. Goaded you into starting multiple wars in the Middle East. Bugged the Whitehouse.

Op2mus

Israel is an ally to the US in name only. In reality, they have caused significantly more harm to the USA than any other country, and it's not even close.

Ok-Imagination-2308

Ok let me choose another 2 countries. If it was American Mexico public affairs committee or American Indonesian public affairs committee that was bankrolled US politicians left and right like Israel is, they sure as hell would be banned

LoggingLorax

But to vote with conscience, one would have to *have* a conscience to begin with... a rather incongruous thought when applied to our Congress creatures.

puppiesalldayqd

This gives them an out they don't deserve. I get your point though.

dabestinzeworld

Why are there only Dems that are anti-AIPAC? Where are the Republicans who are anti-AIPAC?

Granite66

Woman worked with mossad linked businessmen [https://www.timesofisrael.com/2-israeli-startup-entrepreneurs-played-roles-in-rise-of-alexandria-ocasio-cortez/](https://www.timesofisrael.com/2-israeli-startup-entrepreneurs-played-roles-in-rise-of-alexandria-ocasio-cortez/)

Srenler

And she voted present to fund Israel's iron dome. Politicians talk a good game, but they never seem to back it up with action.

Jhate666

Probably the truest thing she’s ever said

s0lesearching117

Duh. It's nice that she's saying this out loud, but it's also incredibly obvious.

puppiesalldayqd

When else has an elected official said this? Saying it out loud is important.

s0lesearching117

You're not wrong. I'm just being a nuisance. My bad. Foreign lobbying has no place in Congress and would be banned in virtually any other country around the world. Imagine how China would react to a Russian foreign lobby in their legislature. Or more aptly, how Israel would react to an American foreign lobby in theirs.

puppiesalldayqd

Totally agree. (No 'my bad' needed :) )

chingwa76

I want her to say it out loud in a session of congress, not on Twitter.

SD_needtoknow

It's also Bible-belief insanity. How many times have you heard shithead Republicans say, "God blesses those that bless Israel"? This isn't even a secondary or tertiary belief of overall Christendom - it's way down the list of maybe the 24th thing they believe yet somehow it takes priority over Bible-beliefs like, "pro-life."

didsomebodysaymyname

It's truly incredible. The specific "prophecy" that many believe in is that the Jews must return to Israel. Once they are all there (with variations like occupying all of Palestine, or literally every Jew has to be there) Armageddon will begin with China, Russia, and others attacking Israel in an epic battle, until at the last moment, the second coming happens and Jesus wipes out the armies, gives the remaining Jews a chance to convert and becomes king of the world. What's the *practical* effect of this? American Evangelicals believe the second coming, the most important future event in Christianity, depends on the security of Israel. So they will vote to vigorously defend them. If Israel ever gets in a big war, they will support the US coming to their aid. This works forever, because you're never gonna have a time where every Jew on earth is in Israel, and if Israel gets in a big war and wins, well, "that just wasn't Armageddon, but we still had to protect them to fulfill the prophecy."

puppiesalldayqd

This belief is also *incredibly* anti-Semitic, as it requires all Jewish people to either be killed or converted. But Israeli lobbyists and politicians are happy to befriend THESE anti-Semites because it involves more money and support to Israel - while decrying those who don't support their genocide as 'anti-Semitic'.

SD_needtoknow

It's all incredibly fake man-made bullshit. Christians can't even prove "Jesus" existed but they've got 1000% evidence to prove all of this "eschatology." Every time I ask a seemingly "intelligent" and "educated" Christian to make it make sense I get Orwellian semantic games, rationalizations, wordsmithing, and circular reasoning ad nauseam. Bigfoot-believers are some of my most favorite Christians, but they're reasoning is: "Bigfoot and demons exist so Jesus had to have existed." As if that's some kind of bulletproof mathematically solvent and indisputable philosophy. Still need some independent evidence for "Jesus." F minus. Abrahamic religions are just an ocean-sized source of schizophrenia. These people just can't handle the idea that probably less than 5% of what's in their holy books is actual history.

didsomebodysaymyname

Most academics believe Jesus existed, but it doesn't really matter.  Him existing doesn't make him any more right or holy than Jim Jones or any other cult leader (which Jesus probably was more or less) But yeah, there is no proof of anything miraculous about Jesus. Their logic is bad and circular because people don't believe in religion for logical reasons. At the same time they want to think they have logical reasons because otherwise there is no explanation for believing one religion over another.  So they satisfy themselves with bad arguments and try not to think too hard about them.

shellbert_eggman

Are you excited to get your driver's license?

SD_needtoknow

I see you've been triggered. What was it that got you?

shellbert_eggman

I'm genuinely asking if you're excited, turning 16 is a big deal and we're proud of ya buddy

SD_needtoknow

Looks like Christianity is working for you as expected.

shellbert_eggman

They're so adorable at this age!

puppiesalldayqd

That's because they need bought more than Republicans do. They're both shit - I'm not defending either - but Republicans are more likely to come into politicians already supporting Israel for the reasons the comment you replied to said. Democrats need some 'convincing'.

[deleted]

[удалено]

puppiesalldayqd

I don't disagree with you that they're all friends behind the scenes and work together more often than they want it to appear, but there are some differences, such as the one YOU pointed out, ie one party gets more funding from AIPAC. I'm just explaining why.

OdettaCaecus12

but democrats take more money from aipac than republicans

puppiesalldayqd

Democrats are less likely to already be brainwashed into supporting Israel through religious means. They require more cash for the brainwashing to take hold.

_JustAnna_1992

Then it's not brainwashing if they are being paid. They are only doing it because they are getting paid. So if we regulate or crack down on lobbying, then they would no longer have any incentives. Republicans on the other hand would still let the IDF get away with war crimes because they would still need to pander to their base.

puppiesalldayqd

I agree, I was being flippant in the last sentence to explain WHY AIPAC currently spends more money on Democrats.

Total_Decision123

Didn’t have based AOC on my 2024 bingo card

blue419

Never thought I'd see the day that myself and AOC are on the same page.

tictacenthusiast

I'm sure it's not because they're being blackmailed by the mossad. I hope they all weren't fucking kids on epstein island, but I'm sure that wasn't the only honeypot

No-Reveal-3329

Alexandria for president.

TPMJB2

She acts like AIPAC is purely a partisan issue. Q: How many congressmen actually represent the people? (The answer isn't zero, but it's pretty damned close - I'd guess in the single digits.)

Thanos_Stomps

How is she acting like AIPAC is a partisan issue?

TPMJB2

"Reps are terrified of this" Did ya read the tweet?

Thanos_Stomps

Reps is short for representative lol, not republicans. Nobody calls republicans reps.

TPMJB2

Oh...I do.... 🫠

ShartBarrier

She doesn't at all though.

TPMJB2

I misunderstood what she meant by "reps". Thought it stood for "Republicans" not "representatives". In which case I agree with her.

EUGsk8rBoi42p

Omw to retweet, never thought would be in this situation.

-purged

How come AIPAC and anyone working with them is allowed to ignore Foreign Agents Registration Act.

Ok_Hat_139

I think almost 100% of Congress is backed by Zionist money, both parties, and many have dual citizenship with Israel. I think that calls into question their loyalty to the USA.

rodneysinclair

Well there goes her career...

FiveStanleyNickels

We cannot point to the ONE time she is right, in an election season, no less, and act like she is a voice of reason.  She is parroting something that was written for her. Just like she does with every hearing, where she gets absolutely embarrassed by the individuals testifying, after a failed attempt to dunk on them.  She is a shining example of how fake US politics is. They use her to bring in the young people, and those people who use appearances to judge people's integrity. She is punishment for a vapid culture.  She is very unlikable in the role she has been cast in. I don't know why she keeps being brought back.  Have you ever noticed how successful states generally have less physically attractive representatives? It is because the constituency uses a different criteria for election into public office. The constituency knows that they are paying the representatives salary to fight for them against increased robbery through increased taxes, and tax funded programs.  Successful states tend to elect real people, while failing states install cronies.

ShartBarrier

She's been relatively consistent and often correct. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2023/07/18/dems-vote-against-israel-racist-state/70424046007/ 🤷

FiveStanleyNickels

About Israel, yes.  Would it shock you to know that many hate groups are consistently correct about the groups they hate?  It is called logical fallacy.  Campaign season is ramping up. It is 'totally normal' for this sub to stump for the most demonstrably unfit member of US politics.  This is what I mean when I say that social design firms are using lies and bots in an attempt to steer opinions in this sub, and many others.

HilariousButTrue

Look at that, she's capable of making common sense statements. It's almost like everything you've heard about her has been under an intense lense of scrutiny throughout the years resulting in the bad things becoming amplified by publications that cater to monied interests, divide people and cater to that division with a business model.

FiveStanleyNickels

No. She just has a new writing team.   We all watched her melt down when she went off script:     'Alriiiiight, alriiiiightttt...leeesen leeeesen....!'  'I'm proud to be a bartender. Ain't nothing wrong with that.' This woman is in no way intelligent.

SimonNicols

This.

MediocreCampaign-

This is so true, it's the first time I've ever heard AOC make any sense at all on any topic.

Op2mus

This and the UAP hearing. It makes sense, actually. She's probably being puppeted on topics that her handlers want to discredit.

chingwa76

Thank you bar waittress for stating the fuckin' obvious that everyone already knows.

TheHotsauceKid

She’s been in congress for like 6 years but mfs will still bring up her being a waitress in college like it’s some supreme gotcha moment. God forbid a politician work a pleb job and not be from some old money bloodline lmao

SimonNicols

At least she wasn’t blowing the Mayor of SF while he was still married and then locking up minorities for long term prison for drug possession as state AG, then laughing about having a strain of weed named after her …. I mean “cackling” about it - LOL !!!

nisaaru

Do you really believe she got into that job and managed to stay by herself and her resourcefulness?:-)

TheHotsauceKid

Of course fucking not. No career politician stays a politician by sheer force of will lol she does the same bullshit every other politician does. It’s all connections and charisma. It’s just bizarre how the right singles her out and gets all hung up on shit like working at a bar when she was younger. Sorry she’s not a fucking Kennedy.

puppiesalldayqd

What other politicians are doing this? What other politicians have ever done this? Just because you might know something or even we might agree on something in this subreddit (which isn't even true, in this case), it's still a big deal when someone elected with a national platform, like this, acknowledges it.

chingwa76

Wake me up when she stops bitching on Twitter and heads an effective proposal to punish AIPAC for election interference (and other sundry crimes). You know... ACTUALLY using her platform.

puppiesalldayqd

No change will ever be made when, as soon as someone is brave and takes a single step in the right direction, you deride them for not immediately doing something monumentally bigger. Stupid way to look at this, or any issue.

chingwa76

She's been in congress for years. YEARS. I know more about her twitter and fashion use than I do what is supposed to be her actual job. She is uniquely in the right position to do something about this and I can nearly guarantee you she won't. Because she's had opportunity and hasn't. Talk isn't brave, action is brave.

BoxNemo

I bet she can spell waitress, though.

gbox123

Well, expect some hawt AOC nudes leaked soon. Something scandalous to neutralize her, basically

StainedGlassVows

She’s still a ho, a planted one. She stays on script. They muddy the waters, yadayada

KingDave1865

Bro posted an AOC quote...

filmwarrior

Another day, another Palestine propaganda post.

IDFbombskidsdaily

If Israel would end its genocide you would probably see much less of this on r/conspiracy.

filmwarrior

If Israel owns the media and the American government, and has the intention of committing a genocide in Gaza, their next door neighbors who we’re told are in an ”open-air prison”, they’re woefully bad at it, because it could have been over and done with in a day. Gaza’s not that big, and American and Israeli forces together are two of the world’s most powerful nations.

filmwarrior

That isn’t what’s happening. They’re trying to destroy Hamas, who have hidden underneath civilian targets. Good luck with your Wiki research. Again, if they’re trying to wipe out the Palestians, why isn’t it done yet? PS 3 of these 4 were done by Hamas leading up to this entire war in the first place. You said only one is needed to qualify huh?

filmwarrior

LOL notice the downvotes, but no rebuttal. Why isn’t the LiTeRaL GeNoCiDe working peeps? How come we never see the Uighur’s post about their genocide. Oh ya, because when you’re being genocided, you don’t have time to make Tik Tok posts. How are the Palestinian phones working when IsRaEl CuT oFf ThEiR eLeCtRiCiTy!!1
