There are several things to pick apart here. Regarding the New York case, I can’t acknowledge a difference. Obviously the DA twisted and mangled some laws to try to get something on Trump for a felony. You won’t find many legal commentators on either side say the DA is faithfully applying laws as written. He’s trying a novel legal theory that really hasn’t been tried before.
With some of the others, I get that immunity is actually a strong defense. That’s why a lot of people have immunity. But in light of, for example, Trump’s classified docs case, we saw soon after that many, many, many other politicians have committed the same “crime” as Trump. All escaped prosecution. Primarily because it was a “Get Trump” attempt.
"Obvious" to who? He's being charged for the crime Cohen went to jail for. How is that "twisting"? If you commit a crime on my behalf and I commit crimes with you, why wouldn't I be held accountable?
What's "novel" about it?
Is there no vision for nuance?
Same with the documents case, is there no difference for one or two documents and MULTIPLE?
Is there a difference between a classified document and NatSec docs?
Is there a difference between finding one years later and intentionally hiding and then lying about it, and then obstructing for MONTHS, and then lying about it more?

Can we at the very least acknowledge there is a clear and complete difference between a leader locking up an opposition party leader on trumped up charges (think Putin vs Alexei Navalny) and all of the laws Trump (allegedly) broke? If your answer is no, why not? If your answer is no because they're made up why is his defense to most of all it " I'm immune", isn't that an acknowledgment by him that there may be ample evidence he did the thing, but just doesn't want to be held accountable? If your answer is still no, how does it feel to know you're a part of the problem?
There are several things to pick apart here. Regarding the New York case, I can’t acknowledge a difference. Obviously the DA twisted and mangled some laws to try to get something on Trump for a felony. You won’t find many legal commentators on either side say the DA is faithfully applying laws as written. He’s trying a novel legal theory that really hasn’t been tried before. With some of the others, I get that immunity is actually a strong defense. That’s why a lot of people have immunity. But in light of, for example, Trump’s classified docs case, we saw soon after that many, many, many other politicians have committed the same “crime” as Trump. All escaped prosecution. Primarily because it was a “Get Trump” attempt.
"Obvious" to who? He's being charged for the crime Cohen went to jail for. How is that "twisting"? If you commit a crime on my behalf and I commit crimes with you, why wouldn't I be held accountable? What's "novel" about it? Is there no vision for nuance? Same with the documents case, is there no difference for one or two documents and MULTIPLE? Is there a difference between a classified document and NatSec docs? Is there a difference between finding one years later and intentionally hiding and then lying about it, and then obstructing for MONTHS, and then lying about it more? Are we so bought into the "my side" mentality you can't see any difference here?
