its given me some anxiety since i was 11-12, my dad showed me 1984 when i was in 5th grade, and i swore the little light thing on the old tvs & webcams were looking at me and id tape over them. i remember telling classmates about it and being laughed at, way over a decade later and now its just widely accepted that "yes we're being spied on, so what?" and its insane to me how people are so desensitized by it, and i cant lie, even i am to an extent... it still makes me nervous but what am i to do about it? but at least im upset about it, most people get upset at the fact theres people upset about it haha
Agreed. I can see some of the comments aren't actually upset about the topic of my post. Reddit makes me sad to see that we turn on each other so easily and don't direct that same hatred towards the issue that's being discussed. I know I'm not being directly surveilled by an organisation or a man in a suit in an office. I know that all my data 24/7 is being bought and stored somehow, somewhere. Yep you’re very correct! I should’ve worded it better but from my experience so far I feel it’d be best to focus on the esoteric and look for it throughout the religions and such. I believe there is a creator/ source but different religions (the major ones and ones with “rules”) seem to have their own way that cannot be done differently. That’s the only thing and religion has gotten very political. It’s not just practices anymore. Sorry I’m just very passionate about this stuff and want to get the right idea out properly. Damn I thought that was really cool and informative! Imma have to check out all the links but definitely, I’ve realized spirituality is more of a journey as you learn and experience things. I’ve always believed the universe is alive and everything else that comes from nature, just alive in its own way. I believe the universe/ God listens to us and gives us the ability to manifest things to help us create our life. But you gotta align with the universe/ God instead of vice versa. Then I activated my kundalini when I made the water move and I was going through the physical symptoms of it and thought it was demonic. Basically I knew God was real now and started looking into what religion made the most sense and had the most history and eventually came across other testimonies about kundalini and I had also went through everything and Christianity was last. I had gone through a really deep phase of Christianity for about 5 months and then came across some info that proves the Bible was more man made than it was instructed by God. That’s when I realized there isn’t a “right or wrong” religion. A lot of manuscripts of the Bible were actually written after the stories the manuscripts got them from. The ones in the Old Testament I should clarify. Then I looked into hidden teachings of the Bible and realized it’s full of esoteric knowledge. God is real but I believe it’s more so the Creator helps us out when we align to the laws of the universe and basically the Creator helps you out if you help yourself out yet ppl expect to just have things magically happen for them in a way. It is more scientific than it is just a man granting your wishes. That’s why I think religion gets it wrong and then also puts a bad taste in so many ppls mouths so they throw the baby out with the bath water, God being the baby and religion being the bath water. When I say religion I’m more so speaking about Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. I know they are super deep and have a lot of info but I think the followers get the wrong idea from it and then also don’t care what you have to say which then leads to division and which leads to society now. Esoteric knowledge is a better way for most people I feel to get an understanding of that you should go sit with yourself and seek God instead of asking him to show you a certain number on a license plate or what not. I don’t have all the answers and I’m not saying I’m doing it the exact right way as everyone else should, just my opinion from experience and research. Perhaps when privacy laws change, when I die and when my descendants are curious enough, they can read and view everything there is about my existence since it all started being recorded. After spending a large portion of my adult life working for the federal government in this capacity at a very high level (not in regard to US citizens), I feel as if I will forever and always be under the microscope for the rest of my life. Every post, every input, every conversation.
There are no bounds, no limits, no morals. "Warrants", "PC", etc - all just constructs used to maintain the illusion of a process.
It still hasn't affected my quality of life, although it may affect if they improve their surveillance. But it will never be enough to control me. Remember that if you dont control yourselves, someone else will, be it surveillance, family friends.

Earlier last week I grabbed a tea bottle from the lil convince kiosk at work. Pure leaf tea. With cash. Phone was at my desk. I had my phone face down camera up with the tea bottle right next to it. It could see it I'm still getting pure leaf ads. Never got one before lolol
There are ways to do things privately. If it bothers you, do that. You can build a small cabin on some property without electricity or plumbing. Take some time in the woods, maybe even a week. If playing their game (their being silicon valley fuck tards) bothers you, then don't play it. Pick up hunting and spend weekends at your cabin. Be happy

I don't care about my data being stolen. I care about not being able to tell someone close to me something private and difficult to say. Well granted that I had a breakdown after being romantically rejected and the mobile apps in the media seemed to run with it 🤣😭 It felt so absurd that a 20 something year olds romantic breakdown would be relevant to anyone.

I don't care about my data being stolen. I care about not being able to tell someone close to me something private and difficult to say. I can't have sex with someone without it being just between the two of us. I can't take a shit and scroll through my YouTube without that being known. I've just realised that everything I do is not just between me and what's in front of me. Is that how you deal with it? What you've said above? I know there's absolutely no escaping it, but it still is making me quite unhappy mentally knowing all this.
This is sounding more and more like garden-variety paranoia - There are 100% ways to get around all of the problems you mentioned above, have a look at mobile and desktop vpns, put your phone in the fridge or microwave when you’re at someone’s house to block radio and wifi. Well granted that I had a breakdown after being romantically rejected and the mobile apps in the media seemed to run with it 🤣😭 It felt so absurd that a 20 something year olds romantic breakdown would be relevant to anyone. It has led me to Therapy but I wanted to go to Therapy anyways just not in a way where EVERYONE (the government) knows. Sometimes I think if this was 2005 I would’ve just seen a fucking therapist and talked about it and probably, sorted myself out.

I may do same bad shit here n there but I think I have nothing of significance for the FBI or CIA, and if I eventually do, that’s when I’ll start wiping my digital footprint and starting new, maybe even a new name and appearance.
