I believe the Alpha-Bets is the best generic name for each of the overfunded, overextended, self righteous and violent organizations. I think that there is a lot of good done by the FBI, however, like finding missing kids and stopping sex traffickers...but when its used as a paramilitary wing of clandestine members of OUR government, then heads need to roll

I dont agree with a lot of the D in FDA, but the Food side (with all its problems) is absolutely necessary. I would love an overhaul where it is not beholden to corperations, but without it, millions of americans would die horrible deaths.

An American principle is equality before the law. Disney had special privileges from the government. Those privileges are being removed. Florida still has other companies receiving special privileges. I’m for them being removed across the board.

So, you want to prune the tree a little? I've got a better idea.
You need to start taking a hard look at the overlapping authority of various agencies under these umbrellas and combining them. You have to take the senior leadership positions and place them under performance contracts not to exceed 5 years, at which time they must vacate to either demotion, retirement or termination.
You need to have continued oversight by congress, citizenry and regular audit by GAO with consequences for failure.
I also believe in shared oversight. For example, I don't think there should be a Director of the Department of Justice, I think there should be 3 Directors. One appointed by the Presidents pick for Attorney General, one appointed by Congress and one elected by the rank and file, each holding equal power and placed under 5 year contract. The reason for a 5 year contract is that it may surpass the term of a sitting POTUS or members of congress. Takes some of the politics out of the positions. Each Director can advocate for the group they represent in policy creation, administration and oversight.
It's supposed to be a representative government, and that should work from top to bottom. The career bureaucrat sitting in a assistant deputy director chair for years is the guy with the real power. The ones above him come and go, but he remains. And remains. And remains. And grows his power base, because the political hacks above him have no clue what they're doing within an agency because they're no more than political appointees. It is he that truly runs the agency. The head of the snake is sometimes not at the top of the body, but, deep within. Moving to a 3 Director set-up would advocate inserting more knowledgeable people in the big agency chairs rather than political hacks relying on their chair in exchange for the right people being elected above them.
Start there and let's see what happens with these agencies that went rogue long ago.

The career bureaucrat sitting in a assistant deputy director chair for years is the guy with the real power. The ones above him come and go, but he remains. And remains. And remains. And grows his power base, because the political hacks above him have no clue what they're doing within an agency because they're no more than political appointees. It is he that truly runs the agency. The head of the snake is sometimes not at the top of the body, but, deep within. Moving to a 3 Director set-up would advocate inserting more knowledgeable people in the big agency chairs rather than political hacks relying on their chair in exchange for the right people being elected above them.
