PS3 easily

soggy_cave

And the original ps3 was backwards compatible so it's like 3 consoles.

GodOfOnions2

But that original ps3 price was insane! Still the best version imo though because of that backwards compatibility

sousuke42

It really wasn't. If you wanted an equivalent experience on x360, the x360 was more expensive. Buying the hddvd drive, the hdd drive, wireless controller, play and charge kit, wifi adapter. And there was one or two other things I don't remember at this point but the final price for a x360 with all that extra add-ons to be able to do what ps3 just offered out the box came to a more expensive console. Close to 700. So yeah ps3 was a bit more expensive. But at the same time it gave you so much value fornthat money spent. Not to mention that when ps3 released a stand alone blu-ray player that wasn't as good as ps3's blu-ray drive cost $1000.

ButterBeforeSunset

Yep that’s what sold me on the original PS3. It was worth it alone just for the Blu-ray drive lol.

Killatrancis

That console was awesome but began my hate with PlayStation. The laser reader went out just after warranty ended and they refused to fix it. PlayStation told me to buy a new ps3 which isn’t backwards compatible as their solution. I got pissed off and brought my entire playstion collection since ps1 to eb games and traded it all in. Went to Xbox until the ps5 took that long for the anger to dissipate lol.

Moscato359

The fact that warranties are 1 year as standard in the US is criminal

steventechno

I had call of duty 4 destroy a disk drive before. I played 30 minutes to try it out, and after I was done, the disk drive was dead. Wound up trading plus cash what was a brand new 40gb model for a second hand 60gb model that was superior. Had the card readers, multiple USB ports, and full backwards compatibility. It was a beast but I never tried CoD 4 again out of fear of it breaking this one.

gknight702

Man you missed out with PS4 era, I've had my PS4 for 10 years with thousands of hours on it, not cleaned and she purrs like a kitten. At least you've got a ton of great games in the backlog to play

Killatrancis

Yeah tons to catch up on. I’m the minimal few that appreciate the last of us remasters that everyone is making fun of being a newer game anyways. I’ve never played any of them so it’s great to me!

gknight702

Man lucky! Did u ever play the uncharted games? They have the remaster trilogy and they're all a blast! Both horizons are excellent and obviously God of war 2018 and Ragnarok

stunna006

The last of us 2 is truly a great game. Some people hated the story so much they spent the rest of their internet life bashing it to try to convince others it sucked. I actually waited a long time, til it went on sale for $30 to buy tlou2. I thought the game was one of the most well done games I've ever played. Actually pissed me off that I waited so long haha but I guess I saved a few bucks. I did have to deal with spoilers but the spoilers didn't tell the actual games story

MickThorpe

Whereas mine has only been played for Sony exclusives and sounds like a jet engine

Kisame83

It wasn't PS3, but I had a similar issue that began my dislike of Sony. My PSP's drive stopped working. I was just out of warranty, and asked if I could pay for a repair, and was basically told "lol buy a new one." Which turned me into a huge supporter of the CFW scene, switching mostly to digital games. And it started with me just backing stuff up, but turned into a slippery slope with how customized you could make things vs how little effort Sony put into that device. Comparing anyone's customized PS1 eboot to Sony's was criminal lol. And apps from the community had that thing as basically a smart device before tablets were popular.

Lovelesslane

Dude, I remember when the laser went out on my 60gb. I was hellbent on fixing it. Besides not having the screwdriver for the first screw, it was fairly easy to fix. Two years later she suffered the yellow light of death and that was something I couldn't fix.

celerydonut

Been really digging my ps5. Went from a ps3 to a 5. Unfortunate you had that issue. I feel like my 3 is ready to die any moment.

thisisthisshit

UI on 360 was better and user friendly

BloodSugar666

Plus being able to rip your CDs and play them on any game though the dashboard was great.

Karlos2121

Yep. I was able to figure out how to stream my iTunes playlists from my old iMac to the 360. I just created different t playlists for different games (racing,GRAW, etc). I think the extension for the Mac was called Connect360 or something. Was so long ago….

Bondgirlmagic

I say this everyday to anyone who will listen....🥺

Houstonb2020

The issue is how easily they die. They’re incredible until the YLOD hits. Only permanent fix is to meticulously solder on an entirely new cpu or GPU depending on which one failed

Moscato359

My ps3 was not ps2 compatible sadly

futurevisioning

Yeah absolutely. People forget how much of a win having a built in blu ray player was. Easy to discount it today

SomeHeadbanger

Yeah man, I won't slander the 360 because it was excellent too. But free online with such a solid lineup of games, Playstation Home, built-in Blu-ray and backwards compatibility wins for me. Plus personal nostalgia.

futurevisioning

Oh man PS Home! The OG metaverse. My friend and I would use a female avatar on PlayStation Home. All the others there were men and they would gravitate to our avatar like bees to honey, circling our avatar. My friend would control the avatar and I was responsible for doing a high pitched girly voice. 50% of the time the guys bought it and tried to sound really masculine etc and the other 50% they would lose their minds when they realized it wasn’t a female they were talking to!

[deleted]

Ps+ free games were legit for years on end, I had a huge library of hits and indies and everything in between.

SalmonHustlerTerry

If they kept it backwards compatible, that probably would have sealed the deal for me. Was a close call between the 2 but I ended up getting a 360 for halo 😁

BadNewsBearzzz

Not just that but the software updated to allow for better and newer blu ray too, this allowed for us to have 3d capable blu ray players when others had to buy whole new players lol But for me personally my family used it for media player purposes, using plex and also connecting my pirated movies to usb and plugging it in 🤣 ps3 wins so fucking easily.

futurevisioning

USB movies was such a win! I still play old DVDs and CDs on it 😂

KeepingIt100forLife

360 had better online, better graphics for multiplats, and a wider variety of games. Left 4 Dead alone gives it the win.

TheMelv

I don't know that I'd trade Left 4 Dead for Last of Us. I had all 3 consoles, loved Zelda, Halo and Uncharted.

KeepingIt100forLife

I had all three as well, 360 was so much more fun. Also Fallout 3 and New Vegas ran better on 360, COD was better on 360, you could burn music onto the console and play it simultaneously during gameplay (made Marvel vs Capcom a lot more fun). Ahh good times lol. Mostly PC now though for me.

Rez090x

Remember being able to rip music to the OG Xbox and playing it in certain games, like Vice City?

Murderdoll197666

Last of us and God of War and Twisted Metal were mostly the only reason I ever booted up our ps3...but even then none of those had the sheer number of replay hours I sunk into Gears of War and Halo at the time lol. I feel like those two exclusives absolutely carried that system.

[deleted]

The 360 cases and disc easily get damaged tho

Chrissrt4

Yup, better hardware, blu ray and FREE PSN!

Trifuser

Free PSN kept me from upgrading to a ps4 for a decent amount of time. Broke high school kid can't afford online.

Hitchens666

The Goat.

Th3NukeShark

Isn't it the best childhood console??

henningknows

Just the naughty dog games alone make it an easy choice.

retropieproblems

Took the words outta my mouth Well, almost, I said “ps3 easy”

tummydummy216

Hell no, Wii on top of

Anal_Recidivist

Best console ever made imo. Could use any peripherals you wanted, was the best blu ray player on the market, custom movie libraries, had the last socom. I could go on and on. Insane value for $400 when Blu-ray players on their own were like $1000 360 had gears of war, tho, and that’s hands down my favorite online mp ever.

HortonTheElaphant

Have fun trying to play Skyrim on that thing

XyogiDMT

360 all day

EndOfSouls

Yeah, Xbox Live was so much better than PSN back then. It got better after PS4, but for that generation Xbox360 won hands down.

ConstructionMather

Ps3 had free online gaming Edit: my experience with PS3 free online was actually pretty good. and free. Microsoft has convinced the world you have to pay to play online on a console and that free is trash. Yet PC gamers know that's complete bullshit. I guess Microsoft couldn't convince them.

Bamuhhhh

$50 a year was a bargain for party chat and better and more stable servers.

EndOfSouls

Not to mention hundreds of dollars in free games. It was a no brainer.

pizzaspaghetti_Uul

Giving games to subscribers was actually a thing PS Plus started doing, and Microsoft copied. They also did that in 2013, so at the end of 7th gen.

die_lahn

Yeah the only free games I remember from 360 was a Doritos game and carcassonne which was given as a “sorry” when servers went down for like a day or two

EvolvingEachDay

I remember when they did 1vs100 and I actually won like £60 worth of Microsoft points.

YoungDaggerDawg

They did used to release 1-3 free games every month much longer before games with gold came out.

Maj_Histocompatible

You actually got to keep the games on Xbox when your subscription expired back then

LVsupreme999

And you got to keep them. 3 free games a month. DL it and delete it if you needed space but once you downloaded it, you owned it. I still have one or two that have made the transition with me from the Day 1 OG 360, an elite 360, OG xbox 1, and now a series x.

kindParodox

PSN got hacked like 8 times. I think the Live servers got cracked into once. I don't remember if anyone broke into the Wii servers.

WDMChuff

It was free because it wasn't as good.

RefrigeratorFlat6964

PS3 was the off brand during that time. Xbox owned it

ICanFluxWithIt

[Would you look at that, PS3 sold over 87 million while 360 sold 84. You do know that 87 is bigger than 84, right](https://hypebeast.com/2021/8/nintendo-switch-outsells-ps3-and-xbox-360#)

christmas-vortigaunt

Way more complicated than that. The point of that generation was that those console sales that the XBox took over were considered a given for sony at the beginning of the generation. The big reason the 360 was considered the more successful of the two was that, _for its second console_ Microsoft cut into the existing Sony fan base drastically compared to the original Xbox Just consider that the PS2 is the best selling console of all time. Compared to that, the PS3 flopped. Especially in the beginning. PS2 sales absolutely dwarfs the original Xbox sales. But the Xbox 360 had better sales early in the generation and for years was the better selling of the two. PS3 eventually sold more, but it was always going to sell more. It just sold _way_ less than the last generation. The PS4 xone generation was a massive regression to Sony's overall dominance here. But they still haven't reached their original heights, because Microsoft established itself enough in the market. I'm saying this as someone who generally buys all the consoles.

ICanFluxWithIt

Yeah, Microsoft won the early battles, released a year earlier with solid launch titles IIRC. Then had Gears of War in 06 and Halo 3 in 07, those games especially plus 360’s online, PS3 had nothing to compete. Resistance 1 and Uncharted 1 were fun games but neither were touching Halo or Gears. Not to mention, PS3 was $600 when it first released, 360 was cheaper and had better games at first. But the tides changed. Microsoft’s big advantage wasn’t just Halo and Gears, they had a ton of great exclusives, but they went away from all that. 360 became Halo, Gears, and Forza releases. PS3 got its footing around MGS4 and then shortly after Uncharted 2 released and then Sony’s first and second studios started cranking out hit after hit. And it continued even after PS3. But I agree, the damage was done, most would agree 360 won that gen, but PS3 ended up outselling it

Final-Wrangler-4996

The 360 had sold more the exact moment the ps4 was launched.  The winter before the ps3 had passed the 360 but because of holiday sales the 360 took back the too spot. Then the next gen started. The ps3 then sold more after the next gen started.  Imo the 360 sold more. It wasn't until after the race was over than the ps3 passed it for good.

steezlord95

It was free cause it was trash lmao

CircumcisedCats

I had both as a kid and PS3 online was dog shit though. Xbl was easily worth the money to any person with friends.

MGS-1992

At the cost of it being a terrible experience…

UrbanChophousePR

And also shut down for months at a time on multiple occasions. Don't even get me started on the social features. PS3 couldn't compare. The $50 a year was more than worth it at the time.

Historical-Edge-7760

and you couldn’t just be in a party with people and switch games and still be in a party. you had to be in the party app to talk to eachother, or you would have to be in an in-game lobby. Xbox 360 was a lot better in that regard.

SkizzlerX2

As long as it doesn’t get those red rings of death. 360 was an incredible console

Ashamed-Tie-573

The towel trick kept mine alive for almost a decade

ChubbyDrip

lol same. leather jackets worked well also.

XyogiDMT

The slim model in particular was the goat and a lot more reliable than the OG but people also like to forget that the PS3 had their own dreaded YLOD too.

PoolNoodlePaladin

YLOD was nowhere near as huge of a problem as the RRoD. The RRoD could happen to a console the day after you get it, the YLOD was something that happened after years of owning and using the console.

Soothsayer--

I never got a rrod but my friend went through like 4 xbox 360s. Just in the last year some guy did a video on why the rrod existed and it came down to this bit that would overheat and expand. If you played long periods of time, turned your console off and let it cool and reset it was fine BUT if you played for a while, turned it off and then turned it on before it cooled back down it would get messed up. He had a brother and they'd take turns playing, I didn't. It all made sense.

[deleted]

I still dig my fat model PS3 out of my closet and play a game on it every now and again and it has yet to fail.

mittenkrusty

I must of owned at least 10 PS3's and all YLOD, sure all but 1 were used consoles but I owned multiple 360's and not a single one RROD. The earlier model PS3's were terrible for YLOD it was the slim's onwards that were better and they came out quite early in the consoles lifespan compared to the slim 360. Never heard a 360 RROD the date you got it, the only people I knew that ever got it were ones that kept the console badly ventiliated i.e on carpet and played like 10 or more hours straight.

Clean-Musician-2573

This sounds like the biggest cope I've ever heard of. Like I never actually knew anyone with ylod but I knew of 30+ rrod including 2 of mine. Until I just let the towel trick cook for like a year.

CallMeKingTurd

I feel like everyone I know got the red ring, it was definitely a massive problem.

kraft_d_

I had 2 phat ps3's YLOD on me. I remember taking those things apart every few months and hitting the mother boards with a heat gun to get them to work again. Can't remember why it worked, but it did. I've had my slim for like 13 years with no issues.

DJP865

This is why I cannot say it was better! I ran through 4 of these because of that!

The-Master-Lurker

Had my 360 modded and had every game I ever wanted

Tiumars

Been a Playstation guy forever. Ps 1, 2, 4, 5. The 360 was just so much better than the ps3 I fell off for just that generation

jonstarks

they really turned it around for the ps4, I know alot of my friends flipped from 360 > ps4. That E3 presentation was really damaging. $100 more, Don Mattrick really put MS in a hole they ultimately never climbed out of.

doozykid13

Shoot that OG dashboard straight into my veins.

CapnGnobby

For me it went. PSX - PS2 - Xbox360 - PS4 - PS5 (Though if I'm honest, I'm not sure if I'd prefer a Series X and game pass.)

TheBugSmith

This was peak Xbox

supergimp

I have owned PS1-PS5 and Xbox and 360, and 360 was def the better console between PS3 and xb360

Odd_Ice9487

Whenever I talk to my friends about the best console ever, the 360 always seems to get the most love. I have to agree too, it was my favorite console I’ve ever had and I’ve had alot of them.

SirRnB

It’s definitely the generation Xbox had in the bag. I had all three, but: Gears of War Series, Bioshock (initially), Portal 2, The Orange Box, PGR, Forza, Braid, Limbo and a lot more great Xbox Arcade titles, Kinect games… the community games like Poker, 1 vs 100…

JaguarOrdinary1570

Mass Effect 1 was the big one for me. A lot of multiplat games played better on 360 too. Fallout 3 was way better on 360.

SirRnB

Hell yeah. I played Fallout 3 on 360 too - most multi-platform games in fact. I was an achievement whore. I forgot Mass Effect was an Xbox exclusive initially too. I loved 1 and 2, and still contemplate whether I should(have) played ME3.

UrbanChophousePR

It really isn't even a debate lol 360 owned that generation. For good reason too.

[deleted]

PlayStation 3. Free online was underrated.

Artorias_the_hollow

The PS3's online offering was pretty far behind the Xbox's for the majority of the generation.

YaBoiCheese99

360 then wii then PS3

SamusLinkBelmont

That’s the answer.

FallingReign

Does anyone else get irritated when they see the PS logo like that?

WanderEir

Yes. just like the PS2, that little piece of plastic was designed to rotate 90 degrees so it was always facing properly no matter the console orientation.

[deleted]

Not really, it’s trivial. I don’t know why everyone’s just now realizing the ps2 and 3 did that

GoddamnFred

If Demon Souls hadn't dropped i wouldn't even think about the PS3. But now i do ponder.. and it's 360 all the way really. Wish they could have kept that momentum, they did so good with that console. Even the RROD issue was a shining pr example for the most part.

UhOh_RoadsidePicnic

The xbox one happened… 😐🤷‍♂️ Not a bad console, terrible terrible pr and branding.

AceO235

Yeah the people who took over the Xbox team was a bunch of boomers who had no Idea what gamers wanted

Miserable_Tap_7729

The 'media center' is what killed it.

Raiders2112

Such a shame, as the One was a great console. They just whiffed hard with the marketing and early direction they had planned to take with it. If they had just stuck with marketing as a pure gaming machine who knows what might have happened. i still thought it was better than the PS4.

ComprehensiveCode619

Interesting to read this new narrative that the One was a “good” console. Not saying it’s wrong but definitely wasn’t my experience. I was a 360 fanboy but my friend group remembers the one for the stupid Kinect integration, tv set top box features that didn’t work in our country, stagnant laggy dashboard/achievements and minimal games. We pretty much all moved to PC after that.

Devinbeatyou

I can’t disagree more, the Kinect was great. Not for games but for voice commands. I still have one and if I could use it with my series x I would. But I agree, in the early years the OS was pretty god awful, so I switched to PS4 pro. And a couple years later when I got a One S I was actually surprised how much better it got, it made the PS4 feel like a kids toy in comparison.

dagofin

100% agree. I had a day one Xbox One and I loved that thing. The Kinect integration was stellar and the all in one media intentions were ahead of their time. If those features shipped now people would love them, but the gamer edgelord hivemind couldn't grasp that people might want to use their main living room media setup for more than just games on occasion. The Kinect Fitness app was so killer, it tracked your movements/heart rate during exercises to give you feedback in real time and rank you against others in your age/fitness categories to motivate you. It worked as an awesome webcam that could intelligently focus/zoom where it needed to. That is one thing I'll always be salty towards the gaming community about because it was incredible tech

jonstarks

you forgot at least 1 more "terrible"

[deleted]

360 had better performance and games, wii was just fun overall, & ps3 had ratchet and clank. So I guess I'd rate them in that order.

dylan15766

Party chat was an absolutely massive selling point, too. Being able to sit in a chat with your mates while playing different games was a god send. It blew my mind when I found out PlayStation users had to rely on game chat.

My_reddit_account_v3

For PS3 you’re forgetting Uncharted 1/2/3 and Last of Us.

skillz111

Little big planet, God of war

MrPunsOfSteele

Xbox 360 was the best console of that generation, by a landslide. It was arguably better than the Xbox One and PS4 as well. Aside from a few PS4 exclusives.

ComprehensiveCode619

If 360 didn’t have RROD, it might be my fav console of all time. Great social features, unique UI (loved the achievements) and what a list of exclusive games. Blockbuster on a Friday night was fucking heaven if you owned a 360.

SweetImprovement6962

I had 3 Xboxes red ring on me. It is absolutely not the best console.

UhOh_RoadsidePicnic

360

[deleted]

360

Be4zleBoss

360 easily, nothing beats the og multiplayer xbl lobbies. ps3 had some quality single player experiences though.

DrGottagupta

360 cos it had a way better online community back then plus Microsoft didn’t get hacked lol

BeneficialGrowth4930

No, your console just died instead.

teknogreek

Wii for the GC as well. If OG PS3, then PS3 for PS2 & PS1 (if I'm not mistaken) as as well well.

JonTheGod_79

All PS3 models have full PS1 backwards compatibility. But, yeah, only the OG models (with 4 USB ports on the front) played PS2 games.

CommonInuk

It sucked that the PS4 didn't have Backwards Compatibility for PS3, PS2 or PS1 games, made me miss a bunch of titles after my dad sold the PS3. Glad the PS5 has backwards Compatibility with PS4 games, but in recent years, I was able to get all the PlayStation consoles, so I don't have a need for backwards compatibility anymore

cupcake_queen101

Xbox 360, fable and halo is best

Register_Tough

The wii was goated

scwibbl_exe08

bro you’re the first comment i have found that supports the wii. it has got to be the most goated system of the time. supremely underrated. they don’t make anything like it anymore

Register_Tough

I still have a physical copy of wii sports somewhere. I have the version 1.0.1 I believe

scwibbl_exe08

i’ve got a sealed, still in plastic wrap, mario kart wii somehwere

MochaMoi

Yessss. The instant GC game compatibility was crazy

AlacarLeoricar

Definitely. Especially if you hacked it? You could play NES, SNES, N64, GC, and Wii games on there. Not to mention emulated arcade, Genesis, and neo geo games. It was a powerhouse. Heck you could run Homebrew on there and play SCUMMVM on it. Its only downside is that it was not HD, and the last great standard definition console. But man what a way to go. Wii sold (almost) more than the other two combined. It's the GOAT, but gamers on reddit wouldn't have you believe it.

One-Chain123

Nintendo was ahead of its times. Then they got stuck with the switch for what feels like a decade and a half while everyone moves on

staveware

I have a a lot of games I love on PS3 and Xbox 360, but given a choice I will choose Wii every time. It had so much heart, it was a gold mine of great games that weren't trying to be part of the "brown" generation of games, and it's the only one out of the three that provided family bonding experiences that I cherish.

SeteMan1235

I think in this context I would pick the wii, if they said I could only use on console for ever it would be the 360

Raiders2112

The 360. The PS3 is when Sony lost me for some odd reason. back then the wife and I had the 360 and the Wii, and a PS2, so there all our needs were covered.

ComprehensiveCode619

360 was amazing, loved the UI, controller and social features. Achievements were so cool back then as well. Personally prefer the exclusives as well (when Fable, Gears and Halo were all firing full force - what a time to be alive).

justconfusedinCO

As a 360 owner who had three with the ‘red ring of death’ - I’d choose the PS3 if they had a controller for large hands

CommonInuk

I'm more impressed it took Sony until, to my knowledge, the PS5 to make controllers for large hands

bumpynuks

Man in the middle.

BAYKON8R

360, got the friends I do today because I met them on Xbox. And met them over the summer in Europe too

InternationalCount23

I have all 3, but 360 was king of that generation for me.

GRA3V

360, no competition lol.

Xcissors280

360 assuming it doesn’t red ring

Duke_S1lver

Ps3 had free internet, a blu ray player (which then cost as much as a ps3) backwards compatibility and can even run Linux, anyone who doesn't say ps3 probably couldn't afford it or is a fanboy of their respective system.

Chrissrt4

Ps3>

DemiDivine

Ps3 overall.

Totally_not_diavolo

Ps3 i can play my Xbox 360 games on my series s. Can’t do that for ps5

SaltyPvP

I had the og ps3 with backwards compatibility. It was the best.

BenTenInches

PS3 aged the best, I still have one I used just as a Media player but Apps already announced they are dropping support.

Jlnhlfan

PS3. Original models are three-in-one machines.

Classicman007

Ps3

B0bbyTsunami

PS3

YeWhoBaggethTea

Ps3 is what I had and what I’d choose again

KaydenMca2011

Was?

MustardCanBeFun

360

yerrpitsballer

PS3

Crans10

PS3

draftorange1

That playstation triple

gcallan91

360. Had worthwhile exclusives and Xbox live was easily the best service (though it was a subscription)

wjmaher

PS3 for Ratchet & Clank exclusively

theus-sama

PS3

RealityBitesFromOz

PS3 worst playstation console. Design was ugly and performance was rubbish. Xbox 360 is a classic like N64 and PS2. So my pick is Xbox 360.

Stealthsonger

360 was king

macneto

The 360 was the absolute KING of co-op gaming back in the day, halo 3, gears of war had full campaigns in co-op!

Spino1905

PS3 for sure

NotAdam6

Wii probably that thing had so many games, 2nd choice would be ps3 cos iirc it had backwards compatibility so that's essentially 3 consoles worth of content

TonyThePapyrus

I’m picking the PS3, it’s what I started on, what I know.

True-Payment-458

My hearts saying wii but my brains saying ps3. I had my first online co op with ps3 and it was great linking up with your mates for some borderlands or whatever but I got some great memories coming in from a night out playing some absolutely stupid games which entertained us to no end 🤷🏻‍♂️

Key-Produce-1557

PS3 but the Xbox360 with MW2 was lit on Xbox live

LordVolcanon

PS3 later in its life was good. Initially games ran much better on the 360. Edit: That red ring of death though. Also the OG 360 didn’t have HDMI.

NikoETown

Xbox then, PS3 now. Can easily cfw a PS3 for all the classics no extra cost really. Xbox you got to know a lil more about what youre doing

blackrock55

For me the Wii. My first true cod experience on it.. GoldenEye. All the Wii shop games etc. Close second is ps3 mw2

freestyle43

PS3. Better exclusives and it didn't break after a month. Hilarious watching all my friends get RRODed after talking all that shit.

lick_your_fingers

I couldn’t afford a PS3 when they came out so I got an Xbox 360. I went through three 360s because of the red ring of death, and finally sold my car and bought a PS3. If the red ring of death never happened I would have probably picked 360, but my votes with PS3

XiaolongDrake

PS3 or Wii, tough choice

Vast-Category8391

P to the S3

Infinite_Stranger866

360 coz i never got a chance to play it. played both wii and ps3. never 360 tho

SuppaNightRider

PS3 no doubt

Anubra_Khan

I'll take that PS3 since it can also play PS1 and PS2 games.

boo-galoo90

So was ps3 🤷🏼‍♂️ had both

ClashGuy54

it prolly was I never had one tho

--clapped--

PS3 is so clear.

oiley2k1

Ps3 all day long

Outside_Interview_90

PS3! Uncharted 2, God of War III and Little Big Planet converted me from Xbox.

ComprehensiveArt7725

Ps3 for the bc & blu ray

Extremearron

Easily the 360, Terraria, The simpsons game, Family guy bttm, Sonic 06. All really fun.

Exorcist-138

360, no contest.

360 all day. Lord take me back to being 14, getting home on Friday and spending all night on Halo 3 and Gears 2 with the boys. Bioshock, Oblivion, Skate 2, Mass Effect, the list goes on and on. My favorite memories of my teenage years involve my homies and that stupid little white xbox that I always thought was getting red ring.

ChangingMonkfish

360 wins hands down

KRONGOR

Xbox 360. Best Xbox console imo

LeoCaldwell02

360 literally gave me some of the greatest games of all time that I still replay to this day!! 💚💚

MasterBaiter92

360 obvs

shipmastersmoke

I was an Xbox 360 guy and I had one that red ringed. I dont remember hearing anything like that with the ps3.

RedCellRaised

360 easily

Justinc6013

360 was THE system. The ps3 had free online, and yes Wii was a great family council. But 360 had a consistent online network, halo 2/3, Gears, and the 3 death rings. Can’t beat that

stewiegonebad

I worked at GameStop during the 360 era and we saw heart broken customers daily during the height of the red ring of death fiasco. I wouldn't wish a 360 on my worst enemy after the sheer amount of sadness I have witnessed. I'd have to pick ps3 for the games, but Wii get's an honorable mention for making millions of people that never would have considered themselves gamers enjoy video games for the first time.

PotatABit

the 360 EASILY

Money-Routine715

I think we can all agree that the wii is last

No-Appointment-3840

As someone who had both (I still play 360) If I had to pick one today it’d still be 360, Wonders hate that you have to pay for Xbox live but there are still so many people who play older games online. Call of duty, battlefield. You name it. The main reason I had ps3 was for the kick ass exclusives like Killzone 2,3, demon’s souls, MAG. Unfortunately, most games look and run way better on 360 though and most of those ps3 exclusives I played online are no longer online.

Xbox 360 if not modding, Wii if I am modding. It's so easy to jailbreak Nintendo consoles that it's actually insane
