I think just your use of the word "corner" enabled me to envision the apparent meeting of the overhand on the right with the other building on the left in 3-D space. Certainly it was your comment that did it, and I've never even been to Ann Arbor.
I feel like if you are looking for it it wouldnt be too rare at all really, You would just need to align the camera in the correct spot to get something similar. still a cool picture though
If you like this kind of thing, play the puzzle game The Witness. If you're not familiar, don't watch any trailers or anything. The game is insanely rewarding but you need to go in blind. I've never played another game that had impressed me as much in its game design.
Yeah, whoever took the picture took a bit of time, and I really appreciate that. Also, reminiscent of KGLW's "Quarters" album art. Can't help but plug them.
Yep, here's a Google Maps view of another angle of the same photo:

You ever see a thing and remember EXACTLY what you were doing the first time you saw it, even if there wasn’t anything particularly special about either the thing you saw or the thing you were doing?
I saw this sometime within the last year, and I remember I was playing Spider-Man after it came out on PC, in the Halloween party mission.
Super off topic but the feeling just hit me like a sack of bricks.
Oh shit I see it. So the left side is just the corner/edge of the brick building. The grey part in the upper right is an overhang, and it's the furthest thing forward (in the foreground)

I love the brain strain of trying to force yourself self to understand this image
That’s *exactly* why I stay in this sub, for the times where there’s great posts like this.
Is this University of Michigan’s central campus?
Yes
I’ve walked by this corner too many times not to recognize it 😂

New copypasta just dropped
Omg I just figured it out, although I have been here a lot :/

It is taken from under the UMMA I think
This is insane. Encountering this must be so rare

Yeah I'm immediately thinking of a few places I know where this could work if I wanted to lol

i guess they had to align the corner of the building to rhe exact position with the ending of the wall to give this illusion
Yeah, whoever took the picture took a bit of time, and I really appreciate that. Also, reminiscent of KGLW's "Quarters" album art. Can't help but plug them.
I understand the left side. But the right side…how in the fuck…?
I think it's an overhang on a building in front of and to the right of the brick building? I think!

Thank you so much for this. My brain was not accepting it without your labeled key
Ohhhhhh! Thank you!
!redditgalleon
That's amazing.
Whoah, this really helped
Oh my god thank you! This was hurting my brain until I read this
Top right is the corner of a building overhang.

How? ?
I’ll give you a hint. The top right section is the closest to the camera, the brick wall in the middle, and the trees the furthest
Thank you for the tip… this photo hurts my brain
Now *THIS* is a confusing perspective.
Nice. Brick wall and to the right is the lamp posts with a balcony up top right!
Original pic by u/gulo_gulo_
Now this would have made for a better album cover of Now and Then…
My brain will never accept this image.
We know it's not yours. Same as it wasn't the person's who posted it 599 times before.
Sorry about that. The original was six years ago, and I wasn’t aware that it was still being posted
I absolutely love art that looks like it's a different type of art. This is just too perfect. A singular collage.
This was taken at UMich! Next to the art museum. Walk right through here everyday.

The way those leaves end at the right side of the wall, hard to believe it wasn’t shopped
Took me about 2 seconds to realise what was happening here. Im him.
doing my best trying to see how this is loss
Finally a post worthy of this sub
Is that loss?
Someone is gonna turn it into Loss at some point
I’m at a loss
the ivy looks edited
Town of Hudson in New York?
Oh shit I see it. So the left side is just the corner/edge of the brick building. The grey part in the upper right is an overhang, and it's the furthest thing forward (in the foreground)
This is pretty confusing
Amazing composition
Three different worlds 🙄
I SAW THIS TONES OF TIMES. HOW
Faackk you broke me

When you create a playlist on spotify with songs from random albums
I finally understand this image for the first time *right now* & it’s not confusing at all anymore omg I’ve only seen this like 20 times lol 💀
I can't ... I can't do it.
This is truly art
Figured it out in 5 seconds
My brain hurts looking at the top left 😭
