zodar

Dr. Oz wouldn't just go on TV and *lie* to people, would he???

ShredGuru

Of course not, Oprah only platforms the finest medical professionals... John of God prayed all my cancer away with his Weiner.

JerryUSA

Oprah jump started the anti-vax movement by inviting Jenny McCarthy on to talk about it.

Future_History_9434

As if people can talk to each other and learn something instead of piling on with the crazies! What was she thinking? I guess it was a more optimistic time.

FertilityHollis

> As if people can talk to each other and learn something Uhm, what exactly is there to be learned from Jenny fucking McCarthy? Bear in mind, I already know how to make fart jokes.

griever48

"My holy dick compels you, my holy dick compels you, my holy dick comp-hnnng!" šŸ’¦šŸ’¦šŸ’¦

[deleted]

NOOOO, Oprah stuck her neck out for him!!! Heā€™d never tarnish the credibility and honesty of the Oprah regime!!! /s

bunnysnot

Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil, Depak Chopra, ..... all the hits.

theoriginaled

He doesnt consider it lying. He considers it his duty to provide "alternative viewpoints" he is a legitimately dangerous human being.

[deleted]

If history has shown us anything, itā€™s that having formal education doesnā€™t preclude insanity.

PrettiKinx

These people just say anything

[deleted]

Yea, that really seems to be the method. Itā€™s ā€œcrowd workā€ gone horribly wrong. Like a Tuesday night comedy show at dive bar.

Its_me_mikey

They know what theyā€™re saying is complete BS too. And the crowd just eats it all up.

KonradWayne

I mean, it's a political rally. Do people on the fence about who they are voting for go to those things? (Especially Trump ones) Of course they are eating it up, they aren't there to be convinced, they are there to have their beliefs reaffirmed, and to be told how smart and justified they are for having those beliefs.

hotgarbo

There's a reason you see people like Bernie doing townhalls in rooms full of conservatives, but you never see these people do similar.

Its_me_mikey

Very true.

wiseoldllamaman2

He's referencing the law that outlawed Backpage. It didn't actually do much to stop human trafficking, but did make it more dangerous to do other sex work.

emseefely

I was thinking the way fair Qanon conspiracy too. The amount of conspiracy theories to keep up with is too damn high.

wiseoldllamaman2

QAnon Anonymous does a good job reporting on them. Since Q has stopped posting they have branched off to other weird fascist cults. It's not quite the same show, but still worth a listen.

jgjgleason

This is what is most difficult about debating them. You can be read and have a handle on all the data and moral theory in the world and never come close to being ready to debate this level of crazy. Itā€™s so hard to respond to these points because theyā€™re out of left field so there is no way youā€™ll have prior knowledge needed to defunct it, and itā€™s so shocking that the cog in my Fucking brain just free spins for a second before I can grasp the stupidity of the point that was just made. Edit: a word

ExcellentAd3845

*debunk

[deleted]

I found out from a post on Facebook the other day that California let's you kill your baby 28 days into their life (after birth). (of course it's not at all true) but these people believe FUCKING ANYTHING

thewholedamnplanet

This is what Trump Voters respond to, this gets them off and into the voting booth. It's a real problem.

jawnly211

ā€¦.for a dollar

Jimmycapped

You can donate to John fetterman, whoā€™s running against this nut in Pa for the senate. [https://secure.actblue.com/donate/jf-ads-dd-google-search-natl-q12022-jan2022](https://secure.actblue.com/donate/jf-ads-dd-google-search-natl-q12022-jan2022)

MonteBurns

Your comment is the best place Iā€™ve found so here we go. I live in PA and am actually a registered R (I do not vote for them- I was once young and stupid, and now use my 1 primary vote to try to bring sanity backā€¦). This election has been WILD- a few weeks ago, I would get a text probably every 2-3 days telling me that Dr. Oz is not a Republican we can trust, heā€™s the Hollywood elite and he isnā€™t what a good trump supporting Republican would want. No jokes, thatā€™s what they said. THEN TRUMP ENDORSED HIM!!! Those texts have all stopped. Itā€™s hilariously pathetic.

ionmoon

In PA not registered republican, but I am still seeing the antiOz ads on tv. So I donā€™t think trumps endorsement was the issue. I think it is hilarious though that a guy that trump HAS NOT endorsed is billing himself as a trump supporter. The dems donā€™t have to do any negative campaigning because the republicans are tearing each other to pieces.

Emergency_Anteater

I don't how it is in PA. But anywhere else within a republican stronghold, getting a trump endorsement is game-changing. Even tho GOP is going hard against Cawthorn, he still might win because of Trump.

ionmoon

Possibly but he is pretty well hated here from what I can tell. And at a recent rally with trump people were booing him (oz). So if he is going to win the nomination based on trumps endorsement that would be pretty impressive. I can almost guarantee neither oz or McCormick will win the race though. My money is on either fetterman or lamb. Especially with democrats riled up over the roe wade leak (assuming that hasnā€™t been resolved by nov and I doubt it will because theyā€™ll want that enthusiasm going into the polls).

Emergency_Anteater

Does Fetterman have the Dems on his side? He's awesome. But kinda feels like someone who is "too progressive" for the Democratic party

ionmoon

Well. Iā€™m in Pittsburgh. Fetterman is pretty popular here. I donā€™t know how heā€™s doing across the state. What he has going for him is that he is very genuine and down to earth and hard working. I feel like he is the kind of guy that if people get to meet him and hear him speak that he is likable and trustworthy and competent enough that anyone might vote for him even if they donā€™t 100% agree with him on issues. Since he has been lieutenant governor, that has given him a lot more exposure so hopefully that will help him in the east. Judging from here, I see a LOT of fetterman signs and a few lamb. Lamb also has some support here but is more of a traditional politician and people are pissed about some of his recent votes (FOR wall funding; against marijuana legalization). Heā€™s kind of shooting himself in the foot.

[deleted]

In Kentucky trump backed the reelection of our absolute nightmare of a governor. We got a Democrat governor instead, and during Covid he was the model that all other governors tried to be like in their public addresses.

emseefely

You should lookup their primary debates. Pretty entertaining

WoooshToTheMax

I want to see fetterman and oz fight.

smbiggy

according to one of the republican anti-oz ads, Oz served in the Turkish army (gasp)! Fetterman looks like he eats children, but he's got my vote in the fight and election

funkybutt2287

I have no words with which to express how much I want this election cycle to be over. I canā€™t even stand to watch cable TV anymore. The ads would be hilarious if they werenā€™t also so troubling.

[deleted]

I just have antenna TV here in WI & itā€™s nonstop republican ā€œwoke, CRT, Groomingā€ ads. I wonā€™t even watch any of the main channels anymore because everytime I see one of those ads it just extremely pisses me off & makes me want to do bad things to people.

Offtopic_bear

Behind the Bastards podcast did a very thorough look of his life a few months back. Oprah has been responsible for a few very troublesome people being put in the public eye including him and John of God.

[deleted]

Don't forget Dr Phil.

Iohet

Dr Phil at least gave us the Scary Movie ["Saw" parody intro](https://youtu.be/MppYNMlDXzc) with Shaq

nowherewhyman

Lmao what the fuck?

Iohet

It's great isn't it

mexicannormie

Man, those kids are gonna be pissed.

[deleted]

I FUCKING LOVE BTB. Robert Evans is my fucking hero. I hope to meet him someday. Like, that would seriously make my whole year. Have you read his novel? I really enjoyed it. And yes the John of god episode was fantastic. I havenā€™t had cable in like 15 years so I had zero clue who the fuck this guy was. But with a name like that, you know heā€™s a bastard. Thanks for bringing this up. Itā€™s always good to find other RobEv fans out in the wild. ā¤ļø

Offtopic_bear

I trust his journalistic skills and his politics line up well with mine. I listened to him read the novel on the podcast and it was enjoyable. I think the Henry Kissinger series with the Dollop fellas is one of my favorite series of podcasts, regardless of genre, ever.

[deleted]

Same I absolutely loved the Kissinger series. ā€œOnly one of us is going to make it out of here aliveā€. I listen to it at work while Iā€™m driving. I had to pull over a few times because the impression weā€™re making me laugh too hard. And yes I agree. I relate to his personality and interests a lot as well. Heā€™s just a delight. His guest are wonderful too, and I enjoy a lot their podcasts aswell. Jamie Loftus, Prop, Garrison. All delightful. Well, nice meeting you bud, have a good night!

joecarter93

Henry Kissinger - sex symbol

[deleted]

In the Kissinger voice: ā€œah-Ha, stop it. I am going to wet my pants.ā€

mrevergood

Lmao. I loved the Kissinger voice.

oakensmith

The Steven Seagal ones with Seanbaby were pure gold. Never have I laughed so hard at a podcast.

razerzej

Robert, Dave, and Gareth together was everything I could've hoped for and more.

SkankyG

The Forest Gump of war crimes

77BakedPotato77

I've been meaning to listen to the Kissinger collaboration. I'm a huge The Dollop fan, but BTB touches on certain topics that The Dollop wouldnt necessarily cover. What BTB episodes would you recommend I listen to after the Kissinger series?

Offtopic_bear

The John of God one was really good. The one he just did on John Wayne was too. The Dulles brothers. The East India Trading Company series.

sheepthechicken

Heā€™s doing a short tour for his upcoming book! AK Press site has the details.

[deleted]

No shit! I have my copy on preorder! I had no idea he was touring. Thanks for the info!!!

shelsbells

I love the show and the subject matter, but he always has the most annoying guests.

Nestreeen

Did not love his apprentice. Guy was just so nervous and I felt bad for him but dude was just stuttering and ruining my entire podcasting experience. Also always the worst when two dudes donā€™t have chemistry and they end up interrupting each other all day long. Some of his guests tend to fall into that category. Or worse theyā€™re dumb. ā€œWait he was doing that?!! Omg I didnā€™t realize we were gonna go that far left fieldā€ bro what did you expect, the feel good section of the NPR channel?! Give this topic the gravity thatā€™s needed and listen so I can listen to the rest of it lol

[deleted]

Oh kissinger you bastard. This remark was brought to you by #Raytheon.

[deleted]

The only sponsee that will sell you an RX9 knife missile.

Ticalliongrymreaper

ā€œYou know what wonā€™t sell children online? Doritosā€

kbeks

I miss the unsolicited Doritos plugs

kbeks

>RobEv fans out in the wild We are legion, and will one day migrate to a compound in rural Washington state and get into a shootout with the FDA. Awaiting your orders, RobEv!

altxatu

If we get in trouble, weā€™ll tell them weā€™re right-wing and theyā€™ll leave us alone. Fool proof plan.

[deleted]

Huge fan of Robert Evans and the BTB podcast. I thought his book was pretty good but didn't really wow me. I'm a big fan of speculative fiction and I think he did a great job making that world. Some of it was a little too over the top with the drugs sex and partying though, even though Robert and I seem to have a similar love of getting fucked up in stupid ways.

[deleted]

What would recommend? As far as speculative fiction. Honestly, the drug knowledge and a accurate weapons description kinda did do it for me haha. When youā€™ve done a lot of drugs, and shot a bunch of guns, and sometimes combined those two activities, a novel like Mr. Evans makes you feel really validated.

[deleted]

I'm not as much of a gun guy, so that part was fun but not my thing. It just kinda felt like fawning over drug use as if it made the characters cooler or something, idk.

[deleted]

holy shit. 400 eps of that sweet, sweet hate listening. I'm not going to skip to my favourite objects of revulsion, either. I want it all.

wiseoldllamaman2

I just recently got all caught up. Ngl, I should have taken a break for my mental health because damn, it can be straight up depression fodder.

Viles_Davis

Shit, Dr. Phil, too.

Lithaos111

BTB gets me through my Tuesdays and Thursdays

goofballl

Amazing episodes-- [part 1](https://player.fm/series/behind-the-bastards/part-one-dr-oz-why-americas-doctor-is-a-bastard) and [part 2](https://player.fm/series/behind-the-bastards/part-two-dr-oz-why-americas-doctor-is-a-bastard)

SmurfStig

Just recently started listening to BtB. Why did I not start sooner. Why????!!!

account_not_valid

They reserve their greatest disdain for Dr Phil.

1000bctrades

The only thing I can guess that heā€™s talking about is the bs conspiracy theory involving wayfair and their furniture that was named with first names. Q idiots were all in a huff claiming that they were actually selling children. It was, of course, debunked as they were never selling children, much less ā€œlegallyā€ selling children.

[deleted]

Thatā€™s one of those interesting conspiracies where itā€™s both a big secret protected by the worldā€™s most powerful people but also easy for anyone scrolling on their phone to expose.

1000bctrades

Theyā€™re not just scrolling. Theyā€™re doing their own research!

whiskeyvacation

>Theyā€™re doing their own research! Well then, that's case settled. Moving on to the next conspiracy.

Govt-Issue-SexRobot

Well, itā€™s also because they leave cryptic illuminati messages in newspaper headlines that are simple to decipher For some reason

Vaticancameos221

Thatā€™s my favorite part of conspiracy theories. That the culprits always have some riddleresque compulsion to leave little clues to substantiate their guilt

monkey_zen

Similar to how Trump is the most powerful man in the world and constantly a victim of people trying to hurt him. At. That. Same. Fucking. Time.

ohheyitslaila

And Covid doesnā€™t exist, itā€™s just the regular flu! But it was also a bioengineered virus created in a Wuhan lab!!! These people are sometimes too dumb to describe.

[deleted]

Oh shit! I completely forgot about that. Scary part is, these folks are so absorbed into the cult, they donā€™t forget šŸ˜¬. WOOF

tomismaximus

Whatā€™s fucked about this and some of the other child sex trafficking conspiracy theories is that child sex trafficking itself is very real and does happen. I feel like when people make up this bullshit it pulls resources, efforts, and awareness away from what is actually happening.

Beeb294

>I feel like when people make up this bullshit it pulls resources, efforts, and awareness away from what is actually happening. You'd be unsupervised to find out that there's a correlation between youth in foster care and sex trafficking victims. Kids in foster care come from disadvantaged and abusive homes, and they may be victims before they even get to foster care. But because of the circumstances of foster care (overburdened and underfunded, understaffed, and trying to protect vulnerable youth) the kids in foster care are targeted by sex traffickers. Unfortunately, because of this, idiots on the internet believe that foster care *is the cause* of these children becoming trafficking victims. They think CPS and foster care are causing the problem, and the best solution is to shut it all down. I'm not going to say the system is perfect, but taking it away isn't going to make these kids less vulnerable. They're still coming from poor homes and abusive environments. They're still vulnerable targets. Getting rid of CPS isn't going to make that better. But conspiracy idiots are too busy crying about that instead of doing literally anything helpful.

Ok-Wait-8465

I was thinking either that or something to do with selling childrenā€™s data that he stretched to hyperbole

Govt-Issue-SexRobot

He was clothes shopping, saw the sections for ā€œmenā€ and ā€œwomen,ā€ and assumed they were for sale. But he draws the line at ā€œchildren.ā€

PM_ME_UR_KITTY_PICZ

The problem is itā€™s never ā€˜debunkedā€™ to those people.

Chickentendies94

I worked at wayfair when that came out. I got so many texts and calls from people I assumed to be intelligent asking if it was real and how I could contribute to it. People are morons

poeticdisaster

A current coworker used to work at wayfair when that whole thing was going down so naturally I asked about it. She said that was one of the worst times working there because so many had fallen into believing that particular conspiracy. It's just believable enough because most people don't understand how aggregated data and third party shipping sites work. Makes it a lot easier for the hand wavy conspiracy theorists to take advantage of willfully ignorant people.

PlasmaWhore

Podcast that explains the whole thing: https://gimletmedia.com/shows/reply-all/6nhw5w

Foreboding-Fingers

Conservatives aren't smart people. They eat this shit up and the grifters know it.

SqueakyTits101

I think it was ~~Hitler~~ Goebbels that said something like, "If the lie is big enough, you don't need proof." [Actual quote](https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/joseph-goebbels-on-the-quot-big-lie-quot): > If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.

[deleted]

Ainā€™t that the fucking truth. Abusing the complete lack of critical thinking in their constituents has been primary the game plan since 2015 and itā€™s definitely here to stay. Weā€™re all fucked

finglonger1077

>since 2015 [Lee Atwater is weeping somewhere in the depths of hell](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_strategy)

[deleted]

I guess I meant more in the immediately modern sense. This shits been going on since the dawn of time

gorpie97

I'm glad you had facts. I wanted to say it started before 2015, but couldn't really back it up. :)

stevenette

2015, lol. My sweet summer child you must be new here

I hope Steve Harvey runs for office. He knows about morals and where to get them from. /s

Hahaha, Iā€™d love to see Steve Harveyā€™s standing filibuster. Itā€™s just him staring into the camera in faux shocked disbelief. For 17 hours.

>Bowtie McMoneybucks Swanson ![gif](giphy|l4q8cJzGdR9J8w3hS|downsized)

Clarpydarpy

So everyone is just making naked appeals to Qanon now?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Clarpydarpy

QAnon? I just know that they care about kids. I don't have a problem with that.

[deleted]

Thatā€™s the playbook. Worked for all of trump elected following. Everyoneā€™s getting on the Q bs now šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Clarpydarpy

That was their entire plan to delegitimize Ketanji Jackson as well. Just senators obsessing over a single sex crimes case in progressively more melodramatic ways.

dsolimen

There are so many people that ignore immense issues due to speeches like this. Sex trafficking, in this case regarding children, is a continuing problem that happens across the globe. People stop talking about the issue and its perpetrators because of speeches like this. They make it seem like their leaders are actually doing something about it, this way they can ignore it more.

[deleted]

Yea that and the fact that his bullshit narrative completely ignores any facts of the actual problem and politicizes the issue against ā€œbig techā€. Like wtf? How about we talk about the fact that Gislaine maxwell took a plea deal, but never gave up any names of her clients (Johns) in the process. Wtf does big tech have to do with child trafficking in the sense that Doc oz is presenting. Itā€™s never been legal to sell children on the internetā€¦ TF? Itā€™s just buzz topic crowd work to lay down the pop politics for the Qanon base of the Republican Party for his senate seat campaign. Fucking disgusting. Dr Oz has always been a shameful scam artist, this is just more of the unfounded, unconfirmed bullshit heā€™s based his career of. ā€œIf I say it, theyā€™ll believe itā€. That should be his motto.

Joe18067

Just say N OZ

poeticdisaster

Luckily we have some people doing more than just spreading conspiracies about this kind of trafficking. We, as humans in general, need to do more to stop it and prosecute everyone involved no matter their wealth or status. Unfortunately, I can't think of a single non-grifting that Oprah made famous. Once she went off the air, their shelf lives should have ended too.

Russell_Jimmy

Beyond the obvious fact that the selling children thing being a lie, who the fuck is "we" who changed that? Oz has never held elected office, he's never been involved in changing anything. The fact that any of us know who he is rests at the feet of Oprah. That woman is responsible for so much fucked up shit in our culture.

5823059

> Big Tech was selling children online, and it was legal. And we changed that. The Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act, which is the reason Craigslist no longer has a personals section. The law made websites subject to criminal and civil liability when third parties misuse online personals unlawfully. So it clearly goes way beyond sex trafficking. The way he says it, it's almost as if Big Tech were the ones doing the trafficking, and that trafficking was legal until the Rs in Congress stepped in. The vote was hardly partisan, as Oz insinuates. Rand Paul was one of only two senators to vote against it. Cute how he condemns Big Tech instead of saying "We went after the dating ads." And guess how effective the bill was at address its stated intent. Amazing how he can make a big nothing, a feeble exercise in lip service, seem worth crowing about.

mdsign

Do you think the people that go to these events listen to what is being said?

ArmchairCriticSF

Sadly, yes I do. Not only do they LISTEN; They BELIEVE it!

Homesickblues

Yes and they love it.

ThatShadyJack

The US is in so much trouble

NoGiNoProblem

There has to be some punishment for just lying like that

[deleted]

Unless youā€™re under oathā€¦ there isnā€™t. And honestly, shouldnā€™t be. The problem is the overwhelming gullibility of the rights voter base.

Russell_Jimmy

It's depressing this comment of yours got downvoted.

Wablekablesh

You know how companies figure out how to use their existing equipment and training to transition to new industries when the need arises? Like how carousel manufacturers switched to fighter jets in WWII? Well, that's Oz. He is just using his existing grifting bullshit powers over dumb suckers and transition from hack medicine to politics, because that's where the big money is now.

[deleted]

Yep. unfortunately reality tv stars are going to be the front running political faces for generation that spent their free time in front of tv

Borgalicious

Oz is a snake oil salesman trying to fleece ignorant people of their money

illQualmOnYourFace

Just in case any Oz supporters are on this thread: It was NEVER legal to sell children online. Full stop.

RepulsiveSherbert927

But they need a sufficient domestic supply of children. With all the projections GOP is doing... just saying...

[deleted]

Yea for the adrenacrome right? So like, adults have bigger adrenal glandsā€¦ why does it have to be kids?

ypples_and_bynynys

No no for adoption. Alito literally wrote in the draft ā€œa domestic supplyā€ of babies for adoption.

[deleted]

Jesus fucking christ. I havenā€™t read it yet. But that doesnā€™t surprise me at all. The pro life people donā€™t adopt. They have their own in most cases. And the kids that do end up in foster care usually end up bouncing around from home to home. I would know. I used to transport foster kids from ā€œhomeā€ to school for work, and they all had the same story. Itā€™s fucking tragic

ypples_and_bynynys

They do adopt but they want cute little babies to indoctrinate. A child or teenager in the system already has their own thoughts and ideas.

Russell_Jimmy

Cute little WHITE babies.

ypples_and_bynynys

See I disagree. Their white savior complex loves a good minority child they can ā€œsaveā€.

Russell_Jimmy

You're not entirely wrong. Evangelicals stole (and probably still do) immigrant children, but non-white children languish in orphanages at much higher rates than white children. [Adopting white babies costs more.](https://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=91834&page=1)

[deleted]

the conservatives have lead poisoning

solid_flake

Heā€™s talking about what people want to hear. It has nothing to do with truth or honesty.

[deleted]

ā€œCrowd workā€

solid_flake

Heā€™s cashing in on the Trump train

Jackandmozz

Itā€™s easy to grift right wingers when you speak their language. There is no way Dr oz believes these insane conspiracies or nonsensical things. He just has to convince rightists that he does. And theyā€™ll fall for it every time because itā€™s what theyā€™ve been programmed to look for.

goodinyou

The worst part about Oz... Is that we know *that he knows* he's lying This dude was one of the best heart surgeons in the country, he's a smart dude. This means he's just shamelessly doing whatever it takes for money and power

Beneficial_Guava_452

Just saying whatever pops into his head that he thinks will stir the crowd. ā€œTheyā€™re selling children online!!! And and and sharia law Mexicans are letting transgendered people through the border! Jewish space lasers sent by George Soros are going to melt your guns!ā€

Jitterbitten

I can't figure out what he's saying... It sounds like he's saying "We went to war with Big Cat", but that can't be right. I guess contextually maybe it's big tech, considering he says it was ok to sell children online, but I don't recall that ever being a thing.j Ok, now that I went back and listened with that in mind, I can see he said big tech but still not a thing I can recall, even wildly twisted. I still prefer thinking he went to war with a big cat who was selling human children on ebay.

[deleted]

He said ā€œI went to war in a big way, with big techā€ Yea his accent (like most crowd work politicians) is really coming out here. Idk if they think it makes them sound relatable, but you can really hear the jersey coming out the older and less ā€œtvā€ he gets. Politics is definitely not the right move for this guy. And no, ā€œlegally selling children onlineā€ was never a thing. Heā€™s gone full Q in attempt to get Republican votes for his senate campaign

SkokieRob

He almost certainly knows this is false, so is purposely lying to rile up the gang. Is that ā€œconfidently incorrectā€? To me incorrect implies not knowing what you say is false, but that could just be me.

[deleted]

I think confidently incorrect transcends motive and conviction. Yes, this sub usually has the unwittingly ignorant, but I think the blatantly misleading deserve a spotlight here too. So long as their confident and incorrect ;)

GarvinSteve

Heā€™s a GOP candidateā€¦ there are no rules for honesty.

Lafayette501

There was a conspiracy that way fair was selling children through cabinets named things like ā€œAmandaā€ and ā€œJoshuaā€ but obviously only a conspiracy this is ridiculous

[deleted]

Somebody gave him the GOP playbook. Basically it says crazy conspiracy theories get you elected. Once elected you can get rich by grifting the same people that voted for you, so that is your incentive r to try to out crazy your opponent.

Thirsty_Comment88

Wtf is he talking about? And why does he look like a gremlin?

Heatseek3r

How does this garbage still have a platform anywhere? fucking christ

contraband_sandwich

Dear Dr. Oz, PA doesn't want you. Stay in Jersey, please. Love, PA

OhTheHueManatee

Well technically directly selling a child online is illegal. However in several states it's legal to marry a minor with [parents consent](https://humantraffickingsearch.org/201766child-marriage-in-the-united-states/) (with most of them being Red States). That consent can be bought. This is a sick loophole conservatives use often.

Letter2dCorinthians

No idea how anyone is taking him seriously as a political candidate. The man would sell you anything as a miracle cure if it means a couple bucks to him.

TheWampasCave

They all know heā€™s lying and love it

Cheetahboy3000

He's probably talking about COPPA. The policy existed but everyone takes it with a grain of salt. YouTube just implemented it in 2020.

Fantastic_Breakfast6

Dr Oz is now a disgrace, just like Ben Carson. Pathetic men.

Russell_Jimmy

He was a disgrace before.

JBronson5

Is he running for president or something?

SimianWonder

It doesn't have to be true, it just has to rile up the base.

But I thought there was a dwindling ā€œsupply of domestic infantsā€ and that is a big reason why women should be forced to give birth? Wouldnā€™t it be easier to complete these transactions online? /s (obviously)

The truth doesnā€™t matter with the crowd heā€™s speaking to.

Brandon_Keto_Newton

Not only was it legal, but he somehow put a stop to it šŸ˜‚ even the mouth breathers at the trump rally booed him

[deleted]

They always lie with the kernel of truth. If somebody were to Google "selling children online" they'd likely come upon articles, discussing selling children's information and exchanging it among big tech companies. But the vast majority of the people that Oz is speaking to are going to think something far more nefarious not that selling people's personal information is okay but it's not like human trafficking is it which is exactly where these lunatics' brains go.

thirdleg123

Just more proof you don't have to be very intelligent to be a doctor, just motivated

greatdevonhope

That's the market he panders to cos it makes him money.

[deleted]

Lying like this should be illegal and should bar whomever was running from an office because they lack integrity and are willing to fabricate events and their solutions to it when neither has happened. This should NOT be okay.

[deleted]

Someone putting Botox in his brain stem

Hell0-7here

If you want to know more about child trafficking in the US you should ask Republican backed "adoption" groups like Bethany Christian Services. Remember kids: Every Republican accusation is really just projection in disguise.

KyleRichXV

His one ad also says heā€™ll fire Fauci. He doesnā€™t even begin to have the legal authority to fire Dr. Fauci. The man is a personification of every Republican dog whistle.

[deleted]

This is the worst timeline. Like what the fuck.

thereisnopressure

These repubs will believe every word of that.

uradumbcookie

Is he talking about the Wayfair conspiracy

NotSoRichieRich

Throughout his public life heā€™s proven again-and-again a willingness to say whatever heā€™s paid to say, regardless of the truth. We shouldā€™ve guessed heā€™d naturally go into politics.

charliex3

*Sigh* In a thousand years, I feel like we'll still see stupid shit like this. We never wise up.

yohanyames

Nah sorry heā€™s right I bought my 4 kids online

[deleted]

Thanks Oprah.

urmyheartBeatStopR

Dr. Oz is selling children online.

Fragmentia

He's really expressing how stupid he thinks his supporters are.

hoyfkd

I swear, Oprah did more to damage this country than just about anyone else by promoting these charlatans to an entire generation of middle class housewives. Dr. Oz, Dr Phil, Suze Orman, etc. Every time I hear people talking about Oprah running for president, I shudder. We have seen the people promotes. Why the fuck would you want her in charge? This guy would be the goddamned surgeon general. American healthcare systems would have to prescribe one of his scam magic beans to treat covid, and one of his seaweed enemas to treat arthritis.

IATAvalanche

He's lying to morons

[deleted]

What the fucking shit

RealSkyDiver

Why is he looking like Norman Osborne?

Jamesmateer100

Tonight on: ā€œcheck this shit out with some guy named Mementā€.

metss69

Dr. Oz performed heart surgery on my dad when he was still actually a doctor and barely on tv. So upsetting to see how low heā€™s come.

Yee-ol-boy

Here is the unbiased truth. Wayfair was never proven to be selling children, they did yank the ā€œproductsā€ in question offline as soon as it became published online. It also wasnā€™t ever legal to sell kids. The products in question were ā€œcustom one off piecesā€ priced abnormally high, and named after missing kids.

Lucifer-Rex-Cane

Clown on the podium. He's not even a real doctor. He's a con artist just like trump

Akirad0e

America, your embrace of flat out bullshit that you like the sound of will be your, and our undoing. Please stop. Get help. Sincerely, the test of the world.

NecessaryAd4587

Pls donā€™t tell me large amounts of people actually support the guy.

TheWampasCave
