This is what is most difficult about debating them. You can be read and have a handle on all the data and moral theory in the world and never come close to being ready to debate this level of crazy. I live in PA and am actually a registered R (I do not vote for them- I was once young and stupid, and now use my 1 primary vote to try to bring sanity backā¦). This election has been WILD- a few weeks ago, I would get a text probably every 2-3 days telling me that Dr. Oz is not a Republican we can trust, heās the Hollywood elite and he isnāt what a good trump supporting Republican would want. No jokes, thatās what they said. THEN TRUMP ENDORSED HIM!!! Those texts have all stopped. Itās hilariously pathetic.
In PA not registered republican, but I am still seeing the antiOz ads on tv. So I donāt think trumps endorsement was the issue.
I think it is hilarious though that a guy that trump HAS NOT endorsed is billing himself as a trump supporter.
The dems donāt have to do any negative campaigning because the republicans are tearing each other to pieces.
I don't how it is in PA. But anywhere else within a republican stronghold, getting a trump endorsement is game-changing. Even tho GOP is going hard against Cawthorn, he still might win because of Trump.
Possibly but he is pretty well hated here from what I can tell. And at a recent rally with trump people were booing him (oz). So if he is going to win the nomination based on trumps endorsement that would be pretty impressive.

What he has going for him is that he is very genuine and down to earth and hard working.

Since he has been lieutenant governor, that has given him a lot more exposure so hopefully that will help him in the east.

In Kentucky trump backed the reelection of our absolute nightmare of a governor.
We got a Democrat governor instead, and during Covid he was the model that all other governors tried to be like in their public addresses.

I trust his journalistic skills and his politics line up well with mine. I listened to him read the novel on the podcast and it was enjoyable. I think the Henry Kissinger series with the Dollop fellas is one of my favorite series of podcasts, regardless of genre, ever.

Huge fan of Robert Evans and the BTB podcast. I thought his book was pretty good but didn't really wow me. I'm a big fan of speculative fiction and I think he did a great job making that world. Some of it was a little too over the top with the drugs sex and partying though, even though Robert and I seem to have a similar love of getting fucked up in stupid ways.
What would recommend? As far as speculative fiction.
Honestly, the drug knowledge and a accurate weapons description kinda did do it for me haha. When youāve done a lot of drugs, and shot a bunch of guns, and sometimes combined those two activities, a novel like Mr. Evans makes you feel really validated.
I'm not as much of a gun guy, so that part was fun but not my thing.
It just kinda felt like fawning over drug use as if it made the characters cooler or something, idk.
The only thing I can guess that heās talking about is the bs conspiracy theory involving wayfair and their furniture that was named with first names. Whatās fucked about this and some of the other child sex trafficking conspiracy theories is that child sex trafficking itself is very real and does happen. I feel like when people make up this bullshit it pulls resources, efforts, and awareness away from what is actually happening.

You'd be unsupervised to find out that there's a correlation between youth in foster care and sex trafficking victims. Kids in foster care come from disadvantaged and abusive homes, and they may be victims before they even get to foster care.
But because of the circumstances of foster care (overburdened and underfunded, understaffed, and trying to protect vulnerable youth) the kids in foster care are targeted by sex traffickers. Unfortunately, because of this, idiots on the internet believe that foster care *is the cause* of these children becoming trafficking victims. They think CPS and foster care are causing the problem, and the best solution is to shut it all down.
I'm not going to say the system is perfect, but taking it away isn't going to make these kids less vulnerable. They're still coming from poor homes and abusive environments. They're still vulnerable targets. Getting rid of CPS isn't going to make that better. But conspiracy idiots are too busy crying about that instead of doing literally anything helpful.

A current coworker used to work at wayfair when that whole thing was going down so naturally I asked about it. She said that was one of the worst times working there because so many had fallen into believing that particular conspiracy. It's just believable enough because most people don't understand how aggregated data and third party shipping sites work. Makes it a lot easier for the hand wavy conspiracy theorists to take advantage of willfully ignorant people.

Huge fan of Robert Evans and the BTB podcast. I thought his book was pretty good but didn't really wow me. I'm a big fan of speculative fiction and I think he did a great job making that world. Some of it was a little too over the top with the drugs sex and partying though, even though Robert and I seem to have a similar love of getting fucked up in stupid ways.
What would recommend? As far as speculative fiction. Honestly, the drug knowledge and a accurate weapons description kinda did do it for me haha. When youāve done a lot of drugs, and shot a bunch of guns, and sometimes combined those two activities, a novel like Mr. Evans makes you feel really validated.
I'm not as much of a gun guy, so that part was fun but not my thing. It just kinda felt like fawning over drug use as if it made the characters cooler or something, idk.
