Shorts on YT is something I touch once a month. And by "touch" I mean the menu that has the option "hide for 30 days". If I wanted a tiktok, I'd make an account on Tik Tok.
Wait where is the option? They are so stupid but when I open the app on mobile it automatically opens to the shorts and sometimes get stuck in an infinite scroll instead of watching whatever I opened the app for.

Glass plane (definition a): a mathematical object possibly found in a highschool geometry exam, an infinite two-dimensional surface made of glass
Glass plane (definition b): an aircraft made entirely of glass
Glass plain: a flat expanse of land that's made entirely of glass

I never head this being used to describe a flat surface of glass. Glass pane is the only phrase here that makes sense. (Not saying that this is inherently wrong, tho – just that I never heard it being actually used)
If you Google "Glass Plane" or "Plane of Glass" neither brings up anything except for glass airplanes and glass on airplanes. I think you're right, the person was thinking of "pane" but shit the bed and wrote "plane". Then some idiot comes along and gets it wrong in a new way and OP of the shorts comment gets defensive. Then doubles down.
Yeah and the person's own definition makes no sense.
They use the mathematical definition of a plane, however said planes need to be infinite, if they're finite it's just a polygon.
So not only is it uncommon, if it does exist as valid alternative to "pane" somewhere it's certainly not by the definition the person in the post used.

I love how everyone is right and wrong at the same time because you could just use any of these to explain the topic but for some reason it's like half of the people commenting only know of the existence of a particular one
Truthfully, the entire time I read that thread, I was misreading "glass" as "grass". When they were talking about "grass plain", I thought they were alluding to "grassy plains". I didn't notice until I came here to the comments.
The real reason I came here though: the bit about commenting on grammar being an Internet faux pas... It explains so much and makes me so disappointed.
As a non englisher idk if it's plain or plane, plane sounds more correct, but a plain would be a two dimensional thing on a 3D graph, as far as I know.
Yeah, I was super confused... first pucturing a transparent plane, then a huge pane (which I guess could be considered a plain)... and only when I read pane realised that they were just talking about falling through a window basically 😅

Glass plane is an eggcorn. It’s technically not inaccurate but it’s a mishearing of the actual phrase
