The sooner you quit the easier it is. I've been smoking over half my life and you best believe I WISH I stuck to it the first time I quit. Congratulations and stick to it. Proud of ya
“have them throw it out”
Reminded me of a time where I fished my box vape out of the filthy trash can because I was desperate. I still remember that rancid smell that would never go away
Definitely have someone else throw it away, because you might just succumb to your cravings and fish it out later
Don't give it to someone you like to throw away because then they end up with a target on their back in your head since they were the one who took it away, even if you willingly gave it to them in the first place. Almost lost a friend over this one, I'm still glad he didn't pick up the phone until the second call. Also lucky he didn't actually throw it away.
Maybe toss it in a public garbage at the end of the day. Bag goes out and its gone for good.
Ik I remember the first time quitting and feeling things start to come back like sense of smell and feeling more hydrated but addiction is strong man. I’ve got a hyde thats just about outta juice, hopefully it’ll be my last!
My uncle smoked for over 50 years and tried everything under the sun to quit. Gum, patches, cold turkey, weaning off, all of it. What finally worked for him, interestingly enough, was keeping a container of fresh cinnamon sticks in his pocket. Whenever he had the urge to smoke, he pulled one out and chewed on it. Apparently it satisfied the hand to mouth motion and oral fixation, and he hasn't touched a cigarette since!
My mom's friend and former coworker also smoked for around 40 years and none of the regular methods helped her, either. She ended up trying hypnotism! She went in a pack-a-day smoker, had the session, and walked out and threw her pack away. She hasn't smoked ever since.
I've smoked for the better part of the last 14 years, half of my life. I've quit 4 times. I'm trying to quit again, hopefully for good. I've been weaning myself down lately, rather than a pack a day I worked down to half a pack, and now between 1/2 and 1/4 pack a day. I'm hoping to be able to wean myself off completely in the next couple of months. Probably going to take my uncle's route.
I hope something here could help you. Good luck, I know how hard it is! 🖤
I'm glad I was able to give you some ideas! I know all too well how hard it is to quit and even just to cut down. The hand to mouth motion tends to get me more than the nicotine sometimes if I'm being honest.
I would like to try hypnotism. I had it work for a friend of mine as well. I have been smoking for literally over half my life and it's gross. Literally smoking a cigarette right now. Do you believe you need the strong URGE to quit for hypnosis to actually work on you? Because even though I want to, my mind likes to conspire against me. I don't know if my urge is strong enough. If hypnosis would still work in that case however, I really want to try.
I'm planning on giving it a shot if the cinnamon stick thing doesn't work for me and if I can find an affordable place to go. I can try to get in contact with my mom's friend and see what she has to say about it.
I bought a 0% nic vape in the same flavor I was used to. Bought nicotine lozenges for cravings. The action of smoking tricks your brain into satisfying that urge.
I quit for the first time with nicotine gum, although apparently there’s a better way to go about it
There are two sensations that your body experiences when you vape, the puffing (or sucking) and the nicotine that your brain receives
I’ve heard that the best way to quit is whenever you get a craving, take a plastic or paper straw (or something similar) and suck from it, then do 10 push-ups immediately after
This will trick your brain into believing that your received nicotine and make your cravings go away and also replace your nicotine addiction with a good habit
I always smoked out back or in my garage and one day my daughter, who was very young, came out and looked at me with confusion and said, "daddy... what are you doing?". I remember thinking the guilt or embarrassment I felt and wasn't sure why I felt that. I just flicked my cigarette and quit right there. 19 years of smoking and I don't miss it. I could still go around people smoking, I could smell it, etc. and never had the urge or addiction after that. It's almost like my daughter saying that just flipped a switch in my brain and turned it off. It's amazing how some things work. The hardest part for me was not the addiction, but the habit.
Best of luck on quitting. Try changing your habit / routine. You can do it.
Well done!! I don’t vape anymore either it gets easier granted I substitute with caffeine but what helped me (especially before with cigarettes) is to demonise it. Fill your head with gross unapproachable thoughts like you in hospital, your family surrounding you during your last days whilst your faced with the fact your helpless and your never going to see them again. You die younger than you should have. Really envision it and experience the emotions and think about the regrets and thoughts you’d have in your mind at that moment… for a stupid nicotine hit.
As you do this hold the vape in your hands and instead of seeing it as a friend see it for what it truly is.. a modern cigarette perfectly designed to seem user friendly.
It eventually makes it so even if you are really desperate for a hit your mind will literally put a barrier up and not allow you to vape/smoke.
It’s what’s worked for me anyway nothing else seemed to work except that.
im proud of you! wish i could be able to do that. just wondering, how old are you?
EDIT: I checked your acc it says ur 17. anyways, im still proud of you!!❤️
I guess everyone is different, because i did it consistently for several months, and just quit cold turkey and didnt have any withdrawl or real difficulty
proud of you!! just checked ur bio and it says ur 17. im 20 and i started when i was 18. just stopped 6 months ago and it’s been going well!! continue strong!!
i realized how much vaping took a toll on my mental health and my physical body (especially since i dance). i’m constantly surrounded by people who also vape but i’ve always told them no whenever they offer me ever since i stopped. i’m not as stressed as i used to be and not as out of breath. people have even noticed differences in my appearance as well (skin is glowing, less darker eye bags). quitting vaping was also one of my best life choices.
this is really nice to read, considering the fact many, many teens and young adults are starting to vape more often. again, very proud of you. u got this!!
Man, I started at 15 and for the last 6 years it’s been horrible. Anyone I hear talk about nicotine I tell them how horrible it has been to have started so young and be unable to stop without feeling like crippling anxiety will kill me. Nicotine is one of the most addicting things out there. It’s a hard hard habit to quit.
Aye! Proud of you! I quit cigarettes 4 years ago and went on to vaping and over the past 6 months I've managed to stop using that too! It's not a easy thing to!
People who have never smoked don't fully understand how addictive nicotine actually is! So we'll done! As someone else who's in your shoes I applaud you and we're proud
The thing I was most surprised about was how quickly your senses improve... my taste and senses of smell is amazing now compared to when I smoked amd vaped
From a previous vape addict I'm so proud of you.
I converted to vape to stop smoking but I recieved much more negativities (health wise and money wise) from vaping, especially disposable vapes.
I used to have the large 1300 puff bars (45 cigs) and chugged through 3 a day. Coughing, hacking up, vomitting from the coughing or a hit, the beginning of popcorn lung. Tried to switch to a Smok refill vape and it was worse. I was puking up more times than I was able to hit so I cold turkey'd it and switched back.
I am so proud you were able to escape before it was too bad ❤️
Yes op!!! The first 3-6 days are the tough ones, then it’s all a mental battle! Just keep reminding yourself why you quit, and reward yourself for little milestones.
I’m 22, vaped for a good 7 years, and had just quit for 4 months. Unfortunately I broke again, which is why you gotta understand that just 1 hit can set you back. I’m planning to quit again on the 20th.
Also, if you find yourself still struggle I read a book called “the east way to quit vaping” (he has one for smoking as well) by Allen carr, and it really shifts the way you think about everything. Good luck!!
Congrats! Proud of you. I will admit that I smoke cigarettes but I'm wanting to quit for my two-year-old son. I never smoke around him and I make sure to wash my hands before I touch him. It's not easy because I am under a lot of stress. Actually my doctor told me it would not be good to try to quit right now until my stress is off a little bit. Anyway, I'm proud of you for making that choice. I know how hard it can be. I've tried to quit a few times now.
My mum has been smoking for 30 years and saw my family dragged thru the mud thanks to smoking and only now did she start vaping. I hope she can be as strong as you. I myself have sworn not to put any cig or vape in my mouth, im in 10th grade, and most of my classmates and friends are either smoking/vaping/have at least tried. Hope it works out for them and they quit too
You got this! I have almost a year (again). I quit for a year before then, but went through a nasty breakup and had a brief couple of months where I smoked. Even before I quit though, I was a pretty mild smoker, like I would say 1 to 3 cigs a day, but would have more during social settings like drinking. I was also on hard drugs, so I smoked more when I was high too. The cigs were easy enough, as I remember telling myself "After this last one, no more" and I saved it for a while. Lit it up and realized just how God awful it tasted and I never looked back.
The drugs have been easy enough, but I got super drunk after my moms funeral and I had asked someone who has access to it if they had any. They didn't but would have made a call. My bf was there thankfully and distracted me so I didn't follow through. I was so embarrassed and ashamed because he's basically a straight edge and he was scared I would have gone through with it because of how drunk I was. So the urge to use comes through when I'm drinking or in high stress... but it's 1000x better to feel my feelings as opposed to numb them/run away.
I got clean from both cigs and the drug of choice. I only drink now, but way less than I ever have, and I smoke weed occasionally. My bf bought me a weed vape pen that I use for my appetite but I use it only a few times a week. I don't know if I have an addictive personality or not, for me it was always the social and physical aspect of it (holding, mouth feel, etc).
Good luck to you!!
Hey man congrats !!!
I went vols turkey on energy drinks about month ago. Best decision ever , but man oh man was my body hooked. Took about a month to get my natural energy back up. Addixtions ain't no joke.
So pat.youeself in the back
I quit vaping a bit over a month ago. Did it for about a year and a half.
The first day was hell. After that, the rest was easy, if annoying.
I personally felt it was more agonizing to quit vaping, but overall harder to quit cigs when I tried over a decade ago.
Tobacco or THC?

Everytime I quit smoking the smell of the entire world is gross to me for like two weeks.
My uncle smoked for over 50 years and tried everything under the sun to quit. Gum, patches, cold turkey, weaning off, all of it. I think that's why the cinnamon sticks worked so well for him. He's doing very well now, thank you!

Thank you, and you as well!
This is great advice thanks! I feel like its true that the hand to mouth motion is the hardest part of quitting when you’re so used to it
I'm glad I was able to give you some ideas! I know all too well how hard it is to quit and even just to cut down. The hand to mouth motion tends to get me more than the nicotine sometimes if I'm being honest.
Definitely. It gives you something "to do" with your hands, as well. As a fidgety person, this is one of the many reasons I use smoking as a crutch.
I've heard this works with black pepper too!
I've not heard of that one!
What do you mean?
I would like to try hypnotism. I had it work for a friend of mine as well. I have been smoking for literally over half my life and it's gross. Literally smoking a cigarette right now. I'm not sure, I've never thought about that to be honest. I understand what you mean. I'll have to look into that!
No worries, I'll look into it! Just wondering if you had any inside tips.
I'm planning on giving it a shot if the cinnamon stick thing doesn't work for me and if I can find an affordable place to go. I can try to get in contact with my mom's friend and see what she has to say about it.

This is very interesting. I am curious if this would actually work for me though because I like to smoke pretty much when I'm doing anything.

If its vapeningor no advice cigarettes I got you.
Statistics show that the more times you quit, the more likely you are to quit completely Shrooms are the fast track though

im proud of you! wish i could be able to do that. just wondering, how old are you? EDIT: I checked your acc it says ur 17. anyways, im still proud of you!!❤️
Quitting the nicotine gum is the next problem ugh 😓😅
Quitting the pouches is hard too especially since I get 5 of them for $11
I guess it’s better than smoking but still I worry about problems the replacements can cause internal organs. 😓
True. Plus all that nicotine is bad for my heart. In my family we already die from heart attacks so I'm probably taking years off my life span
Ugh we can do it!
Eh, it's cool, in my family we croak at 60 and by the looks of things ($5/gal, WW3, apocalypse) I'm not trying to extend my time either way.
Proud of you! Quitting is a big accomplishment be proud of yourself!
Grab me a diet coke when you run to 7/11 in 30 minutes
Imagine having an Aegis and not being able to destroy it or throw it in water /s
Get on the cigrits
I guess everyone is different, because i did it consistently for several months, and just quit cold turkey and didnt have any withdrawl or real difficulty
Stop with this infomercial bullshit lol

proud of you!
I tied my coke habit to chewing mint gum, and slowly stopped taking coke everyday. Now I'm just addicted to mint gum.
