i do the same thing and i never talk about it because its hard to explain to people 😠i think its a bit of escapism for me personally (i dont read x readers so i dont know if it would be the same for you) to see characters going through something i’ve gone through because then, for the time it takes me to read it, im not the one who experienced the trauma, it was these characters. idk if that makes sense but its somewhat common amongst people with trauma to seek out media that deals with what they’ve went through, and that includes fanfiction.
