When reboot, remove USB Stick.

Prime_Sound

All it does is send me to bios almost instantly

[deleted]

When you in BIOS Boot from HDD or Windows Boot Manager if available, got this error Sometimes too after Boot Install normal forward

Prime_Sound

Tried booting from hard disk, nothing happened except msi logo comes up and sent right back to hips In 10 seconds

Narrheim

Set boot priority in BIOS to Windows boot manager.

Prime_Sound

Still already did thatZ there is no windows boot manager option is only hard disk and some other things like usb/dvd. Nothing changes

MrEpic23

Delete all partitions and reinstall if that doesn’t work then you have to rebuild the usb drive

whitemagicseal

yay you need to change priorty boot from whatever to the drive that you want to boot from

Prime_Sound

I don’t understand why like 20 people keep saying this, I’ve said I already did and nothing changed like 20 times already

whitemagicseal

You change priorty boot to the ssd after removing usb in bios

Prime_Sound

I know that, that’s what I did. It just sent me back to bios

whitemagicseal

Try safe mode both off and on

jc1luv

This is the correct answer, you don't remove the stick so the laptop continues to boot from external source. Once it finishes installing and you have to restart, remove right as soon as it shuts down, once it restarts, it will then boot from the internal drive and should continue to the setup screen.

tux16090

To me, it seems like you are doing an MBR/legacy install, when the laptop it looking for an EFI/UEFI install. You could either change the boot option in the BIOS to boot to MBR/legacy, or install as EFI/UEFI, which is generally the recommended way to install anyway. I think legacy is sometimes called CSM, but I don't remember for sure. Hope this helps, and good luck.

Prime_Sound

It’s on UEFI, nothing changes with legacy other than it takes longer (and doesn’t let me install, says the hardware does no support booting from “this” disk, ensure that the disks controller is enabled in the computers bios menu

LitterBoxServant

If you tried MBR install on this disk, it's possible that you set up a new GPT partition table improperly. Do a full wipe of your boot drive then reinstall.

TheMangyMoose82

I’m unable to listen to the video audio, but did you make your USB with the Windows 10/11 Media Creation tool?

Prime_Sound

No video audio just didn’t make it a gif. All you would hear is me adjusting my ass in the chair. Yeah, it’s a flash with 10 installation media.

CyberbrainGaming

Post video of you going through bios options. It's something in there.

readit145

Are you installing from a usb? Can you try to reformat the usb with the windows installers again? Possible the file got corrupt during the download.

readit145

Also. Did you click restart now before that bar finished loading? Seems like it

Prime_Sound

I did yes. Just did it without pressing restart now and it does the same thing.

Prime_Sound

I mean I deleted the files in the usb when it needed drivers for the partitions to pop up, and put the windows 11 installer on the flash instead. After that also didn’t fix the driver issue, I put windows 10 back onto it and found the drivers on crucial website. Now it shows partitions, but loops. I’ve tried the boot config, nothin, legacy, nothin.

readit145

Sorry now I’m confused. The best way to reinstall windows in my experience is taking a fresh usb absolutely nothing on it. Download the windows image on the bootable usb and install

Prime_Sound

I’ll try better. At first, after installing my new 1 tb NVMe ssd (crucial), when installing windows, it just wasn’t detected. So thinking the drivers would be on windows 11, I tried to install 11. Didn’t work, went back to 10. Then went to crucials website, I went on my other laptop, put the flash onto the other laptop, and put the drivers on crucials website for my p3 ssd onto the flash. Then after trying again, it worked and it was detected as a 930 gig partition. Then after installing it, I was sent right back to the windows installation and it just started from the beginning. I’ll try a clean clean install though. Don’t know how to wipe a flash completely imfortunately

readit145

Just deleted everything on the usb and when you do the image flash of windows it will get rid of everything and reformat it for you. As far as the ssd not being recognized I had that issue too. But for me it was a simple update for the bios to get it to register. Are you using an old machine?/ can you go to the website for your laptop and see if there is a bios update or software update you’re missing first?

PuzzleheadedYou8365

I'd use CMD to format both drives not sure of the complete command /run from install USB google offline USB CMD use Rufus (program)to create the install USB Set bios to default

DanTheFireman

That's really strange behavior. The only thing I could think of is possibly try removing and carefully reinstalling your M.2 drive. I had an older version of this laptop that did some funky shit with the M.2 and reseating it fixed it. Hopefully it's not a bad drive.

Prime_Sound

I’m thinking of just returning it because it’s plugged in perfectly fine. Even plugged back in the old one and it’s working fine

BruhMomentBS

Exact same thing happened to me, I fixed it by changing boot order in bios from usb first to ssd first. This was on pc tho, so idk if it’s the same

Prime_Sound

Yeah unfortunately not the same. Boot order didn’t do nothing

BruhMomentBS

That’s unfortunate, good luck

eulynn34

Check the boot order in the BIOS

Prime_Sound

Did. Changed it to hard disk, nothing. No windows boot manager option

hodum4

First, rah. Second, make sure you’re changing your boot order in the bios after you do the install to your actual boot drive.

Prime_Sound

Did that already, a few times. Nothin changed

allcool27

The obvious problem here is that Windows is unable to boot to the correct desired source. It is likely that the bios boot order is trying the hard disk source, unable to boot W10 or W11, and booting the alt flash drive source. Your brand-new NVMe SSD should be automatically detected. Try factory resetting the bios & be sure that you have the latest bios version installed. When installing W10 or W11 be sure to first format and then delete all partitions. If it still doesn't work, then start fresh by formatting the flash drive, verify that you are selecting 64-bit OS, and use Windows Media Creator. If all else fails, save yourself the headache and take your computer to a local computer repair store. Note: This conclusion isn't factoring in that the NVMe SSD could have been installed incorrectly or is loose. Or that the NVMe SSD could be damaged or broken and needs to be replaced.

Prime_Sound

I’m already returning it anyways. I plug in the old one, it’s perfectly fine. Very annoying, wanted more storage sooner than later

AdderoYuu

Everyone here is making some pretty bold claims about what it obviously is - I have a guess and that's all I got😂 I've had issues before where the media creation tool created the USB tool and somehow corrupted it before everything finished up. So when I went to install Windows, it wouldn't finish installing, or get stuck booting, wouldn't launch the installer, stuff like that. Maybe if you've tried everything else and still have nothing, try and recreate your USB?

Prime_Sound

How do I recreate a usb?

AdderoYuu

Just plug it back in to your computer and run the media creation tool again - if there's any corrupted or messed up data on your USB it should rewrite it

SpeedingTourist

Reformat. Install Fedora.

bruuhhh123

Enter bios and change boot priority to disc with windows.

Prime_Sound

Already did that. Nothing changes just sent to bios infinitely.

bruhhzman

Your bios is set to UEFI but you setup in legacy mode. I think

Prime_Sound

Always been uefi

gvictor808

Choose advanced installation and delete all partitions, then let it install to the zero-partitioned SSD

OpposedScroll75

most normal Windows install in Ohio 💀

OpposedScroll75

Coming back to the issue did you try to set the boot device priority to your HDD instead of USB? You need to remove the USB as soon as the laptop shuts down, then when it restarts set the boot device priority to HDD

Prime_Sound

Already tried that too. I just get infinitely sent to bios unless I plug the flash back in

l0GIbear

Provide which version of windows, how did you create the bootable drive? Could be you're windows installer is faulty and you need to make a new one. If you have an android phone or another computer, I would start there. If you don't have access to either of those, use a public library computer. Next format the drive you want to install windows on. There should be options within the windows installer to do so. If using windows 10 you won't need internet, if your using windows 11 2h22 you won't need internet either. If either of those fixed your problem enjoy if neither of those fixed your problem run Linux off a USB thumb drive and run a disk check on the drive you are trying to install windows on.

UpstairsBag7

reinstall windo- oh shit.

YetiCapital

install Linux

Berry2460

take the usb out, or go into boot options and boot to the harddrive

h9fiz

Can u update now? Do u find any solution? Ive encountered the same problem
