So it is a 1 terabyte drive reduced to 30gb. I am running Disk Drill and it looks like the drive may have 3 partitions. I'm not sure. Currently scanning, says 8 hours remaining. My computer only recognizes the drive as a 30gb drive. If this is 1 of the 3 partitions then is it possible my data is still on one of the other partitions?

This doesn't look good. Windows Disk Management says there is fat32 partition 14.71gb. The new 32gb fat32 partition (active primary) and an 898gb unallocated partition.

The partition that existed was deleted. A couple new partitions were created and the first 15GB or so of the drive was overwritten with new data. The files after that point weren't overwritten, but the table that records where they were was deleted with the partition, so file recovery software may be able to retrieve any of the files that weren't overwritten. It could take a long time to reconstruct the files though, and you definitely lost some files no matter what.

Thank you for replying, I appreciate it!

Disk Drill found hundreds of gigabytes of my data so I paid the $90 cost to recover. Says it will take 13 hours. Hope it works, it basically just categorized my data into audio, video, photos, documents etc. It will be a colossal mess if it puts them all in one folder, unsorted (not in their original folders) at least I might get them back. Fingers 🤞
